I highly HIGHLY reccomend giving Korn another shot and listening to some of their newer stuff, especially the album The Serenity of Suffering (2016) and beyond. It's a lot heavier than you think! People gave up on Korn so long ago that they never realized they had a sort of revival and they really upped their game and became heavy in the last few years. They have STILL been releasing a new album every 2-3 years and the last few have been particularly great because the entire band has gotten off drugs and alcohol (except for Fieldy who is currently on an "extended hiatus" while in rehab for relapsing). Head returned to the band in 2013-14. They got a new drummer (Ray Luzier) in 2009, who is an absolute musical genius and way better than David ever was imo. If you want a good taste of new Korn, check out "Insane", "Black is the Soul", or even their latest video "The Worst is on it's Way".
JonNo I definitely fall into the category of people who grew up loving them but kind of moved on. I can say the same with Killswitch Engage after Howard left the band. Thank you for the recommendations your comment really enlightened me and sparked some interest to see what they've been up too!
Eh. Ray overfills too much. And just does too much. He’s a great drummer but not fit for Korn imo. David was simple yet affective. Once head left I feel like they lost their confidence. Korn will never be the same unless David is back. But even then times have kind of changed. They changed their sound. Their last album wasn’t bad. Couple good songs. But not like their prime. Their last good album was TALITM. Just a opinion at the end of the day🤷🏽♂️
He's right. Serenity of Suffering is a great album. You should definitely check out Cold from The Nothing album and Requiem is honestly a master piece.
The *musicians* in LB are top-notch.... it's a shame that they will be forever underappreciated because Durst was an a$$hole. Although having said that, he seems to have calmed down with age, & he sounds better than ever. I'll still go to a LB show now btw- they get a vicious crowd bounce on the go!! :)
KoRn's last 3 albums have been great, I think 'The Nothing' is possibly their best album, it's that good (easily top 3) and well worth a full album listen, it's very emotional. Give them another chance! I particularly like 'Idiosyncrasy', 'cold', 'black is the soul', 'insane', 'worst is on its way'
@@Killermcknight I personally like their older stuff more but the new stuff is very reminiscent of it. I’d start with Cold or Worse is on its way. Cold has Untouchable vibes and Worse is on its way has Life is peachy vibes. The album the nothing is very very dark and freaking heavy!
@@Killermcknight This Loss (About the passing of his wife), The Worst Is On it's Way (Their most recent music video), A Different World (Featuring Corey Taylor)
After issues was Untouchables 02 album following Take a Look in the Mirror 03 which were both heavier sounding. Maybe take a listen sometime. Head did convert but he became sober from meth & was able to be there for his daughter so it was worth it plus his daughter pretty much got him back to the band after 2012 concert to see Chevelle Head played Blind on stage with Korn & you could see the emotion afterwards since that right side had been empty for 8yrs. Later that yr they started working on an album
I remember watching that night as a Korn fan younger and not much effort was made towards Metallica…. This cover helped me start to understand the music that came before like Metallica and others who brought rock music to the masses.
I absolutely love this cover. I remember seeing this on TV back in the day. I don't know how they did it, but somehow Korn managed to do One better live than Metallica's recorded version. That's a very tall order. I also kind of fell of Korn over time. I was a big fan up through Take a Look in the Mirror. After that was a combo of me really not liking the single from the next album and simultaneously finding a new favorite band in Dir en grey. I really should go catch up on Korn though, one bad song doesn't ruin a band after all.
head was bad on meth during this and left but came back. as a deicide/napalm death/cannibal freak they’re still heavy and their still metal. like 4 bad albums out of 15
SlipKnot wouldn't exist without KoRn and Ross Robinson in my opinion, so it's hilarious to me when you say your music tastes matured and you started listening to SlipKnot, because in my opinion that's more like going backwards, no offense. I too kind of stopped listening to Korn when they released Issues because it felt too polished and different from their first 3, and now it's probably my all time favorite Korn CD. Make sure you check out The Paradigm Shift, The Serenity Of Suffering, The Nothing, and Requiem, those are the albums they have recorded since Brian Welch came back after his departure from the band (the 4 CD's they released without him are just decent, in m opinion)
Actually yes I have. I was a drummer in a band for many years. There's a video on this channel called "Let me introduce myself" and there's a whole montage of live footage and BTS stuff 😊 ruclips.net/video/gmEm3TLwvz4/видео.html
I saw it live. It was epic. Korn and Metallica are bands that will always be remembered. To witness this live was so amazing.
You’re one lucky mf to see this live ❤
JD's headbanging is on full display 🤘🏻

Black Is the Soul is beast

Korn often ran into a shortened version of One from Shoots and Ladders when they play live, one of the greatest mashups!
this is so good. their cover of alice in chains "Would" is very good too
Also Limp Bizkit did a cover on that show, it's amazing!

I love jonathan davis so much🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
In Canada we had MUCH music. A great night consisting of Much Loud, followed by Rap City, and of course to end the night, Electric Circus. Haha
Congratulations Great reaction from one of the concerts that marked an entire generation that Rock never dies greetings from Ecuador
Thank you so much
Korns definitely gotten heavier especially in their newer albums. Give them a shot again!
That's encouraging! any suggestions on where to start?

I just saw Korn in 2022 and Helmet and Evanescence opened up for them, they are still at the top of their game and still putting on amazing concerts!
Requiem is banging and I was at 2012 Carolina where he returned they played the whole first album and even daddy
What an unbelievable cover. Just found out about it today and have been seeing what people think, its just so good.
Korn never fell off live! Always a amazing live band! 😆🤘
Right. I just saw them live in August and it was an amazing show...Helmet and Evanescence opened up for them and they blew both of them away.
such a good band, covering such a good song... awesomeness overload!!!! BOOOM! :D
I got follow the leader and life is peachy on cassette tape and im a elder millennial was 20
listen to "COLD" from Korn
Also at that same MTV Icon show Limp Bizkit did a version of Sanitarium that absolutely killed. You should check it out 🤘
"Cold" is a great song.
Man back when MTV was playing music and had music videos I remember the day this show came on and I recorded it on my VHS Good times 😎
Chris, that's awesome!
Fantastic cover. I'm around the same age as you suggest the serenity of suffering, the nothing, requiem first then the rest you missed.
thanks man
I love this cover I watched it live and limp Bizkit did sanitarium it was banging

Korn gave heavy music back to me, i cant imagine their performance wow....
I like how they took this song and put their spin on it... also having the wisdom to know to skip certain parts as they couldn't play them musicly.
The drummer's name was David Silveria. He was the backbone of the band. Without him they would've never been anything..

"Kidnap the Sandy Claus" is a way sick cover also...
Your about to see how good head is at guitar
Enjoyed this cover a lot, also enjoyed Limp Bizkits cover same concert
Legendary! Mudvayne Dig daaamn fuck yeah
head was bad on meth during this and left but came back. as a deicide/napalm death/cannibal freak they’re still heavy and their still metal. like 4 bad albums out of 15
Shows my boys can play good only thing I hated about icon when limpbizkit did sanitarium it was with Mike from snot on guitar and not Wes Borland
Think you're gonna like Cold from Korn
Maravilhoso!! ❤
U should react to Fullmetal Jessie- vermin or no way out.
not sure who that is but I'll do some research!
@@Killermcknight she's good I think u will like her
Korn saved that tribute show, it was weak and at times seriously cringe.
☮️💜🤘🔥

You want a korn song that is heavy and kind of new. Check out a different world feat corey Taylor
Korn did Alice in Chains - Would!
You should check out Limp Bizkit cover sanitarium from the same show
tf is aaron paul doing in 7:39
Have you released any of your own music.

@@Killermcknight Thanks.
I just be dumb and count numbers on noses, drummer is Dave. And Mtv tried to be music, sadly Mtv was not music before good music
Just a little late to the party lol
Must have sucked having to go on after them
Unpopular opinion: this version destroys the original, especially the last third of the song.
No freedom^ thats why Chester gone^ you have no freedom
