This cover is infamous So many people love this cover They've covered the song again live and someone recorded it, sounded exactly the same, they struck lightning with this cover, turning the song into a nu metal track with a breakdown and a turntable solo, only if they did a studio version as a single or even a track on their upcoming album.
Limp bizkit will never die. i still listen to all the albums. they killed this i remember watching it live...went right to limewire to get the audio. i hope they release there disco elephants album
2020 - still the best cover of this song Ive heard and that last few minutes is still some of the most high energy shit Ive heard in the last 15 years.
@@peetsuh I agree that the Bullet for my Valentine cover sounds good, but it’s a little too similar to the original to surpass this one in my opinion. Limp Bizkit really made it their own, it’s heavy AF and almost sounds like they composed it.
In my opinion, the one thing that pushed this cover to be one of the best Metallica songs is their tuning and their style. The original is already really heavy for a power ballad and by tuning down 3 semitones lower and making the song in the style of Nu Metal, they made the song extra heavy. That cover is basically what Metallica does in Garage Inc. They make any song sound like their own.
If you have never seen Limp live I would make it a life mission to get to a gig, They get loads of hate online but live is where they are at. I've seen them loads of times as I have seen many of "the greats" but Limp bring a manic energy to their shows that is worth seeing once in your life.
Yes! I’ve seen them five times and it’s still not enough. Just flew to NYC to see them play Madison Square Garden. I’ve been to tons of other concerts but no one does it like LB.
It takes talented musicians to play a perfect cover But it takes a great band to convert a song into their own style so flawlessly And that's another one of the reasons why I always liked LB no matter what people ever thinked of them
The great thing about this version is that they took it and put their style on it, and it turned out great! It sounds 100% Limp Bizkit. Also, the guitarist's downpicking is precise and never lost the tempo. Everything sounded much better and heavier than Metallica themselves.
You know that it's a great cover when you've got Lars and Kirk at the show head bangin' and giving them respect for their performance. That speaks volumes in and of itself. I personally thought it was a little unorthodox, but amazing all the same. Limp Bizkit just put their own twist on the song and it came out great. Cheers to you!!!🍺🍺🍺
At 1:10 the crowd turns and realizes this is actually a concert. LB on right before Metallica hit the stage was no accident. NOBODY gets a crowd energized like Fred.
I grew up listening to both bands but I never knew Limp Bizkit and Metallica had a baby and named it “Limptallica” . Where has this song been ??? I only discovered it 2024. The energy and style is amazing 🤩
Love this cover. I started off with thrash and still love it, but I loved and miss the nu-metal era. The last era of music when people weren’t preoccupied with phones and actually went out and did shit and lived in the moments they were apart of. No one was offended and no one was getting cancelled. Summer Sanitarium was one of the best shows ever from these times. Nothing has ever come to the fun we had back then.
I was at their gig in South Korea, Seoul in 2014 or so - it was at a super large venue, but on a Wednesday night and horribly advertised. There were barely any people there compared to the space booked. But honestly - the band clearly didn't care and they've put on such an amazing show, jumping into the crowds - freaking blew my mind. Fred was just as engaged and engaging as during this important event. This is what being top-class performers means.
No joke, best thing they've ever done. They brought the fucking house down. I've never forgotten this haha. They were the only group that both delivered on the tribute, AND "made it their own." Funniest part is it cuts to the guy from Korn, and he's stroking his chin like "Ok..let's go.."
never been a huge fan of LB but dayyuuuummmm. this cover really hit HARD. the drop and the way Fred gets the croud hyped up before that drop really shows their massive stage presence and skill. well done overall
They killed it this was 🔥 next to Linkin Park noone can hype a crowd like Fred can. And DJ Lethal doing the solo?? What?? Noone saw tht coming not even Metallica. They truly made their version of this. They limp Bizkitized Sanitarium
They did a cover of Metallica and created the best song by Limp Bizkit. Sometimes you don't just have to copy everything from A to Z, but put your style to it. That's why this cover is so good.
@@Destructionaire well it's my opinion that they're a bad band because I don't like them they're not original really they came in on the coattails of Korn and it was another cover that made them famous as you might remember the song being Faith which was probably the only song they ever did that was actually any good and it wasn't even there song but what makes a good band is having more than one or two songs that are good instead having a whole album that has good songs on it and is usually followed by several more albums that have many great songs on it any band that has been around for years and years and years like the bands from the 70s that are able to still play are able to do so much because they're still want to hear them because their music was actually good all I know is I play guitar and I would much rather people listen to my music for many many many many years in the future rather than having one song that was a hit and then you may never be mentioned again is when there's not a bunch of useless noise the writing is actually good they're not in the band simply to be in a band they actually make good music for themselves and everyone and hopes that it actually is Meaningful to them and the audience it's for them to enjoy and their sound isn't produced so much as it is acquired and this is a course my opinion just like I love to you might hate to but Limp Bizkit never really was a talented Band by any means the music was in no kind of way life changing or inspirational or even good to listen to I understand this is quite a lengthy explanation but you did ask and I love music and I can respect and appreciate good musicianship and I can respect and appreciate good musicianship and Artistry I can respect and appreciate good musicianship and Artistry and those things Limp Bizkit never had

There performance is the best in these stage. Even original I prefer there unique style and did great job dj lethal.. Limp Bizkit is one of the most popular band. Love from mizoram. 🇮🇳🇮🇳
Sometimes the music press goes full herd. Crowds were huge at Bizkit shows.
LB did the best cover of Metallica that night , don’t care for them otherwise but this was Amazing..Korn did fantastic as well with One but have to give kudos to LB on best of the night
great band......many of their own tracks rival this.ps:we have the same initials, same first name too.
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 great names think alike 😉not an LB fan otherwise though, but used LB style to really make Sanitarium their own
Nah that award goes to Snoop Dogg!
20 yrs on...and this is STILL the best metallica tribute & cover EVER made!!
I'm 68 and my taste in music has recently changed. These are one of my new favorites.
I remember watching this live as a kid. Still holds up so good. They really did the best cover that day.
This cover is infamous
So many people love this cover
They've covered the song again live and someone recorded it, sounded exactly the same, they struck lightning with this cover, turning the song into a nu metal track with a breakdown and a turntable solo, only if they did a studio version as a single or even a track on their upcoming album.
I know right
They should have deffiently most certainly for sure
The studio version is on somebody's hard drive, they never released it. Maybe someday
@@Rschr101 how do you know?? It would be great if they released it one day!
Limp bizkit will never die. i still listen to all the albums. they killed this i remember watching it live...went right to limewire to get the audio. i hope they release there disco elephants album
Holy shit, that sounded like a badass Limp Bizkit song, the fact that this is a cover is amazing in itself.
2020 - still the best cover of this song Ive heard and that last few minutes is still some of the most high energy shit Ive heard in the last 15 years.
I have to put this cover in 2nd place for me. Bullet for my Valentine did an excellent cover of this song
2021. Same
@@peetsuh I agree that the Bullet for my Valentine cover sounds good, but it’s a little too similar to the original to surpass this one in my opinion.
It's awesome how huge this sounds with just 1 guitar and a bass! They really rocked the fuck out of this song!
If you have never seen Limp live I would make it a life mission to get to a gig, They get loads of hate online but live is where they are at. I've seen them loads of times as I have seen many of "the greats" but Limp bring a manic energy to their shows that is worth seeing once in your life.
amazing band live...Fred is a beast on stage!
who are you and why are you stealing my identity.
Yes! I’ve seen them five times and it’s still not enough. Just flew to NYC to see them play Madison Square Garden. I’ve been to tons of other concerts but no one does it like LB.
I've seen them live once and it was bad ass, Fred pulled a bunch of women from the crowd on to the stage and then did Nookie it was pretty cool
I still can't believe that up to this day no one realizes that the DJ is scratching over the original solo sample. I think that's fucking dope.
DJ Lethal
I think everybody noticed bro
I like how Limp Bizkit used their own style while also remaining faithful to the source material. Great cover
It takes talented musicians to play a perfect cover
But it takes a great band to convert a song into their own style so flawlessly
And that's another one of the reasons why I always liked LB no matter what people ever thinked of them
Finally a decent version of this recording !
YES!!! :)
@@LimpBizkitBrasil1 all the others had an awful quality and it's a shame because this is a sick cover.
Cheers to you!!!🍺🍺🍺
When Fred says get up, YOU GET THE F UP🤘
At 1:10 the crowd turns and realizes this is actually a concert. LB on right before Metallica hit the stage was no accident. NOBODY gets a crowd energized like Fred.
probably one of the best cover of a metallica song.
Fred always had a badass scream
They put their own spin on it while keeping it badass. This was an amazing cover! I like how Fred got the crowd pumped and into it as well.
the crowd was lame.
No joke, best thing they've ever done. They brought the fucking house down. I've never forgotten this haha. They were the only group that both delivered on the tribute, AND "made it their own." Funniest part is it cuts to the guy from Korn, and he's stroking his chin like "Ok..let's go.."
Fred needs to be the hype man at my funeral.
Simplesmente um cover que será lembrado pro resto da história.... 👍🏼
never been a huge fan of LB but dayyuuuummmm. this cover really hit HARD. the drop and the way Fred gets the croud hyped up before that drop really shows their massive stage presence and skill. well done overall
The best covers are the ones that use their own style.
Or it's why the cover sucks worse with their own take but then again limp bizkit wasn't a good band so...
Yeah man!
@@2strokin70 Why are they not a good band and what is a good band?
Say what you want but Limp Bizkit did the best and most creative cover on that show.
I would've loved to hear a studio version of this.
I even like this more than the original.
One of the best covers of any song I've ever heard. So energetic
lLimp bizkit and Korn covers were stunings in this MTV icon show, they did it on their own style and both singers nailed it.
Casi 20 años después y aún sigo obsesionado con este cover !! esa noche limp bizkit la rompió !!
Nice cover ever I heard the arragement is totally unique and awesome word can't express my feeling. Dj Lethal did great job nice vibe. Even metallica also amazing to see these performance Fred Durst did great job.. In these metallica icon Limp Bizkit and korn performance is the best and produce there own music style
Best metallica cover by far. Have to be honest
Enter Sandman by Motorhead is best
yes, if i will remember one great thing about limp bizkit, this would be it.
I prefered One by Korn same concert.
this cover sucks. Fred Dirts is a tool.
@@ryconle who?
Essa foi a melhor performance! Limp Bizkit in the House!
I wish I could like this more! Limp Bizkit knocked it out of the park. A truly beautiful moment in time 😊
And Sam Rivers just fucking kills it on the bass
Metallica is the best band in my era love when other bands can rock it as good as Limp Bizkit did man they did awesome
Privet. I listen to Metalica since 1993, when i was 5 years old, listen LB about 99. Now i am 33, and im still fu...kin lovin dis cover. Its more powerful, energy and agressive for me,. But yeah, without the original, dis never be hapened for shure. Thanks to Metallica for wrote dis. And thanks to LimpmazafakaBizkit for breathed life in dis song. Love u guys.
I can’t believe I’m just seeing this for the first time at 27….I’ve been a Metallica and LB fan since I was a teenager. I saw a comment on a video of Korn’s performance in this tribute and someone mentioned LB had performed too. Love these guys…..
same bro
Most of the band's cover is trying to stick to what the song is already sound, but limp bizkit take it to their level and make it like they're own that song! One of the best Nu Metal Cover ever !
1:09 is when the audience realizes they are witnessing an epic performance
Best cover of century, I remember watching this live from MTV on television in 2003 damn
Mike Smith on guitar, insane energy and very tight player🤟
I really wish it would have been Wes Borland there instead, because Limp Bizkit without Wes doesn't feel right.
@@comicsans1689 But man Mike Smith killed it while Wes wasn't with Limp Bizkit. He absolutely was a top notch replacement! Whatta player!
Limp Bizkit got my ass kicked with this one, They brought a classic song to a new era, not destroying the song, actually keeping the dark feeling, with a great modern arrangement
After 21 years, still the best version of Sanitarium 👌🏽
Limp bizkit hizo tremenda acoplada con este tema a su estilo , es la mejor banda que pueda existir en este planeta , por siempre L.B
This is such a great cover it gives me chills
The uploader of this video blessed us. Limp bizkit is the only of its kind. They are definitely the worst to be one of the best bands to exist.
This will come around. One of the greatest covers ever.
I remember watching this on MTV the night it was first aired. I was blown away, they did such an amazing job on this.
fantastic. they got the groove
I wish so much that they would make a studio recording of it again.
The greatest example of a band putting their style on a cover whilst still doing justice to the original
How in the hell am I just finding this now?!?! I am a huge Metalica fan and I love LB. Break Stuff is SO good. But this?!?! THIS?!?! Holy crap. I have listened to this 5 times in row. Durst and the band KILLED this!!!!!
Go watch sum 41s cover from the same show. They killed it as well 🤘
It is definitely one of the best covers, there is no denying it, pure explosiveness
the best vocals of his genre.. period
