    Thanks Primal Punch, I'd be honored to check them out. By the way I really like your "Jango Stick Workout", it's simple and to the point, my kind of workout.
    I use small 4 pound hammers instead of dumbbells, they work real well and you can bang them on old truck tires, either on the ground or hanging from a tree.
    I'll use them with the hammers turned upside down for throwing my punches or rightside up more for the leverage factor as I turn and twist my punches with them.
    Take care
    Daniel

    Nice video, I have a question.
    How da hell can you survive more than 3 guys hitting you at the same time. I ask this cuz I have a friend who got struck real bad by 3 guys and I want to learn so I am prepared. Thank you

    Could the index finger technique bring a potential injury to the finger if done incorrectly?

    Cool video. Loads of videos show how to hurt the other guy, but few people cover the highly important issue of how to strike without hurting YOURSELF! Thanks for sharing this.

    I'm very glad the video was of some help to you. Another thing you might try is punching in a diagonal angle with the left fist.

  • @BareFisted

    The first reason is to protect your face from being hit. Once you learn to slip a punch and get use to having punches thrown at you, you can start to change your fist position and see what feels good to you. Another reason for the fists being at temple height is if you're wearing boxing gloves to protect you from getting hit. For a beginner I would advise you to keep your hands up by your temples with the palm heels against the forehead. By the way your question is not stupid.
    Take care
    Daniel~

    I looked through your videos, sir, and did not see your hammer work-out. Have you thought about uploading it? I for one would like very much to see it! It sounds like a killer hand-strengthener.

  • @BareFisted
    @BareFisted  12 лет назад +5

    Use a softer bag and keep your fists turned at a diagonal angle and go easy at first. Don't go banging the heavybag real hard, you must train your fists to absorb impact. Also strike with the back knuckles, watch my other videos on correct punching bareknuckle and striking a softer bag.
    And to answer your question, yes the finger joints do get sore, it will take two-three weeks to get use to the impact. Do knuckle and figer tip push ups to strengthen fists.

  • @BareFisted
    @BareFisted  11 лет назад +2

    It could, just like any of the other fingers or knuckles if not positioned correctly or struck properly.

    I'm not that strong and I don't have like any punching bags or anything, is there some way I can still strengthen my fists?

    • @BareFisted
      @BareFisted  10 лет назад +8

      Yes just do knuckle push ups and finger tip push ups, these two exercises will help to strengthen the fists. You can also duct tape a carpenter sponge to a brick and punch on the dense sponge to toughen the fist.

  • @BareFisted
    @BareFisted  12 лет назад

    Check out my other video "How to make a fist" it will teach you how to roll you fist.

    is this for when you fight or just to do to harden your knuckles

  • @BareFisted
    @BareFisted  11 лет назад +3

    You gotta cover your head with your forearms and hands (like you're washing your hair) and keep moving. Also kick em in the shins hard!
    You also need to triangulate and get behind them.

  • @Mel-jp2op

    Hi! Just wanna ask a question. For the knuckle popping exercise that you mentioned in your video, how many reps and sets should we do?

    • @BareFisted
      @BareFisted  10 лет назад

      Hey Melvin, you can do 3-5 sets of 8-10 reps or you can do punching combinations for two to three minutes on the heavy bag and just pop the knuckles out right before you do the combinations. You just need to train yourself to pop them out before you strike. You can also start by striking without popping them out and then pop them out at your choosing, or you can combine them by popping just one fist and not the other and switch to the other fist. Mix it up and see what works for you.

    • @Mel-jp2op
      @Mel-jp2op 10 лет назад +1

      now I am doing 25 reps of 2 sets and 15 sec rest interval every single day, it seems to work out for me though , too bad my parents doesn't allow me to buy a punching bag or a speed bag,so yeah other then the knuckle popping exercise i'll be using hand grips to strengthen my knuckle if that's possible. anyway thanks for your help , it's much appreciated. Thanks. BareFisted

    how do you stop the bones from breaking?

    • @BareFisted
      @BareFisted  10 лет назад +3

      You can only strengthen them to take impact. Use knuckle push ups and finger tip push ups for your fists. Also try striking soft filed heavy bags and using hand grippers for hand and forearm strength.

    really man i dont want to sound mean but omg bro 1, i have NEVER heard of having your finger out when you punching with the two knuckles thats wrong. 2, having your thumb in will STILL make your wrist twist that doesnt matter at all having your thumbs in or out.

    • @barefisted5334
      @barefisted5334 10 лет назад +3

      To bad you don't have a second or third degree in Karate, you would have learned it there. If you study the biomechanics of the hand you will find that what I show is true and it can easily be proven.

    • @seiryumidnite9566
      @seiryumidnite9566 10 лет назад

      biomechanics?? bro that is not true at all you dont have to be anything for you to know something like this or to kno its doesnt work. Anyways if this stuff would be true it would be showed to white belts, begininers not a black belt they should know it, if this was true. i train in karate, bjj, boxing and mma i never heard of this and iv been around but ok whatever bro

    • @barefisted5334
      @barefisted5334 10 лет назад +2

      Seiryu Midnite It is true and I can prove it to you. Have someone shake your hand and have them squeeze it hard, notice how much your fingers hurt, now extend the index finger and curl the other three fingers slightly, you'll find that the structure of your hand has changed and it will not be able to be squeezed. This is the same structure used when punching with an extended finger.

    • @seiryumidnite9566
      @seiryumidnite9566 10 лет назад +2

      its cool man, any type of punch is a good punch if it gets the job done. if you condition your hands really good, 2, 3, or all knuckles it'll be effective in the end

    • @taylorhagin1405
      @taylorhagin1405 10 лет назад +1

      Seiryu Midnite lmao shut up. There are techniques that increase effectiveness with the smallest changest. You sound like a american wannabe fighter who just does, but has no knowledge of what he is doing.

      Since there are not many teacher instructing the skills on bare knuckle boxing or other old school tricks are there other martial arts styles/ or schools that teach similar stuff? Or schools within Dallas/DFW Metroplex that teach? I know I have asked a similar question like this but I really want to learn and train!

    • @barefisted5334

    I'd like to learn self defense but no one wants to teach. What do I do now?

    • @barefisted5334
      @barefisted5334 10 лет назад +1

      Watch a few youtube videos on self defense, grab a few friends that would like to learn and train with them. Go to a few seminars and learn, then bring back the information and train with your self defense workout partners. Read a few books on self defense and use the information from them to train yourself and your workout partners. Hope this helps.

    Bare fisted- you only mention how to make the fist but not how to toughen them . Do you get in push-up position or hit a punching bag

    • @barefisted5334
      @barefisted5334 10 лет назад +1

      Hey Double Edge 7, I miss labeled the video. But you can do knuckle push ups on the two biggest knuckles or on the bottom three knuckles, also try finger tip pushups. One last one is wall push offs, facing a wall about three feet away, push off the wall with finger tips for reps.
