No hooks in a street fight all straight punches w/ feints and accuracy..I busted my hand because of hooking..very bad habit without gloves..if you kickbox combine a low kick..extremely effective
I realized this as well! I come in with a low, downward kick at their lead knee towards their foot. I use that low kick as my power step for my jab. I added jabbing at an angle as well as punching at the centerline. Thanks for the tip about avoiding hooks in a street fight. I have been working on my head movement and feints. Kinda like fencing. Picking my attacks.
Definitely true... this is why almost everyone who has ever been in a street altercation, will attest that during the fight.....punches & other strikes, seemed to be coming at them in"slow motion" ... In a street or at least*bare knuckle* fight....your timing between strikes is much more off beat..or on a patient cocked back & wait approach... **Great, REALISTIC Information!** Oh and Hello from North Carolina!(:
Nice vid man, I wish i would have seen this a few years ago. I started boxing when was 8 to about the age of 16, in that time I had a decent record 34-2, a couple of silver gloves and golden gloves here in montana although when i won nationals in Iowa.I quit because it conflicted with baseball and football, but 16 is about the time you start partying and getting into fights my boxing served me well in the first couple but the third one I 'll never forget I hit this dude a bigger dude who played football with a straight right knocked him flat , but then dude gets up, cuz me being a boxer when someone gets knocked down you let them up but since we were in a street fight this was a bad move on my part , he linebacker tackles me gets on top of me and that was it, I was out of my element, so I had to learn the hard way boxing is not street fighting boxing has rules the streets have one rule fight by any means necessary to win.
I can't say how refreshing your videos are brother! So much prevarication out there being taught as truth. The men with much combat experience in fighting will recognize the wisdom & truth in your videos. You are a true master! Your videos are like finding a red diamond among a sea of sand! Much respect brother! :)
It´s funny how i train this way before i even saw this vid... You sir are totally right i can say it based on my own experience... this totally works... Greetings from Colombia
Your videos are genius! I ask, will you do a video on proper reactions to strikes? I like to counter by striking with the same hand so my other hand is cover the side of my face that their hand is free. I hope that would be a good technique. Thanks for your time making these videos!
Do you have a video, that shows what to do, if the guy comes at you swinging from all angles? the run towards you and swinging everywhere i find this one hard to deal with. perhaps you have a video on how to approach different styles of street fights! ?
I don't have a video of this at the moment, I'll have to add this to my list of videos to make. But in the mean time try using a push kick to the hip joint to fold him over and stop him.
Very interesting stuff, i almost wonder if i have street rhythm? As i seem to hate traditional pad work when someone is holding the pads for me as they try to make me throw pre set combos, I'm still set in my old ways as my first kickboxing coach i had for 2 years only did reactionary pad work with me, where i never knew what the next punch would be until i hit the pad so i never learned traditional combos just how to react to kaos. Not sure if that is good or bad. sure makes me look like a beginner on the pads as always get confused mid combo on what i was supposed to do.
You can always use combos of two and three strikes or just single strikes. Just move to a different angle as you're finishing the combo or a split second after and throw another combo, this keeps the opponent one step behind.
Mm... so basically what your saying a trained boxer or any type of trained fighter can't beat a street fighter because of the fact they won't be able to execute their moves the same way they do in the sport? Hm! i thought fighting was fighting no matter where you are anything can be applied in a fight i thought.
I'm just saying that punching with gloves is different than fighting without gloves, and one of the differences is where your punches land and the speed of the impact. You hit the top or the side of his skull or the point of his elbows and you could injure or break your hand, while you might get away with it when you spar with gloves on, you may not striking bare fisted.
the FIRST great street fighting technique video I have found on youtube......and I've watched MANY!
Just subscribed!
Thanks Rod, I really appreciate your comment.

The school of hard knocks is a cruel teacher, first it tests you then it teaches you the lesson.
Remember: Hit fist, hit hard, and keep on hitting!
true coach. for street the most important thing is good stance, good position, acurate punches.
