The mood and pace of Panchayat is just like that of most rural Indian villages.... slow, simple life, simple, but over sentimental people ... Mundane matters get hyped ... Even losing a key ... Not a big issue, but it kept them occupied throughout the day ...
And you don't know what hurts them and what makes them happy.
CAT (Common Admission Test) is the entrance exam for many reputed MBA colleges across India (IIMs - Indian Institute of Management) and in Middle East (some colleges). It is equivalent to GMAT in USA for MBA entrance exam.

as a person originally from a village i can assure this is closest to what rural life is this show touches upon so much nuances nothing else could .
extraordinary yet effortless acting , slice of life comedy , This show is pure gold
in rural parts of India the terms you'll come around these terminology DM (District Magistrate) maintenance of law and order in the district who as has to qualify through an examination which is quite tough , Pardhan/Sarpanch (village chief), deputy Pardhan ( deputy village chief) who works under Chief both of them are elected through village elections, Sachiv (village secretary) who looks after office work, Vidhayak/MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) who is elected through state elections and works in the parliament
Vidhayak/MLA don’t sit in parliament.
Prahlad and Vikas were eating 'PETHA' a sweet made of fruit, it is an inexpensive sweet actually,
most actual sweet shops dont even keep this, it is generally found in grocery shops among other eatables.

village people pronounce some names differently
in small villages mostly everone knows each other. even i am mocked often when i go to my village for not knowing other people
of my village (in cities many people dont even know all of the families who live in the same street)
"Swades" is an amazing movie with the same concept of a NASA scientist - Mohan Bhargav (played by SRK) visiting a village.
Raghubir yadav who plays Pradhan ji is one of the finest actors in india (mostly works in theatres not in many movies)
even manoj bajpayee (srikant tiwari in family man) respects and recognizes him as one of the finest.
What is the reason behind the 'not 3 sweets or food'? In Germany/Austria you find something similar with flowers. These are given in uneven numbers, mostly 3 or 5 or 7, never even numbers.

People pay homage to their dead ancestors both paternal and maternal by performing holy rituals, people cook first meal of the day and feed preists . Some food is for cows and birds , even for ants .
In this meal the number of rotis ( chapatis ) is odd (3,5,7)
So our elders find it disrespectful to be served odd no. Of chapatis at once .

It's really good series for understanding of rural side of india
Actually the set up is in Balia ( phulera) The part of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and it's on the border of Bihar,.. this region is the poorest and most underdeveloped part of India,.. that's why it seems this much backward,.. the actual rural India is in way more ahead and development these parts are exception ,.. + in Indian culture offering three pieces to someone is considered a symbol of enmity..just a cultural thing.

In India, the smallest form of division is the Panchayat. There will be a Panchayat President or Pradhan,who will be elected and Secretary who is appointed by the state govt from people who qualify certain exams.
Many Panchayats together form a Block. BDO means Block Development Officer.
And the same way there are other local bodies like Municipalities and
Municapal Corporations which are much larger than Panchayats and have more population of people under it (most are for administration of towns and cities).

1. Village peope have very different tone of saying things which only UP, Bihar and MP guys can relate. You will understand too if u come to Bihar or UP.
Eg.,

'Cha' is actually the short form of Chacha which means Uncle.
Also, i have seen that village people shows their owned fields with pride to their guest. Even I have done that. 😂
2. The ringtone of Pradhan's phone is 'Rinkiya ke Papa...' which goes like 'father of Rinki'.😂

India's welfare and development are being boosted by British rule.
British bureaucracy was the main problem.
2. Jahaal (Agressive ideology)

Lokmanya Tilak, Bipinchandra Pal, Lala Lajpatrai and Arvind Ghosh were the main leaders of Jahalwadi group. In this, Lokmanya Tilak was the leader and the main leader of the Mawal group. Lokmanya Tilak was completely against the ideology of Mawal. Lokmanya Tilak strongly criticized the Mawal leaders by calling them 'apologetics' and 'bending'.
The methods of both the groups differed, the soft group believed in movement within the constitutional framework, the British in the sense of justice, annual convention, speeches, approval of resolutions and delegation to England. But on the contrary, the Jahal group did not believe in the thought of all these softies. He believed in non-violent resistance, mass movement, and a strong sense of self-sacrifice.

@@WhatSayRay 20 years back in my childhood pooping in the open was quite common. Now-a-days though govt. spent a bunch of funds and got toilets to most of the people. Still there are some people who poop in the open, usually homeless and very poor. But to help these people a cultural shift is needed where lots of public toilets and bathhouses need to be built. Maybe some startup figure out this math and create an economical solution.
It's such a grounded abd simple plot line set in a village that it reminds us of DD(national broadcaster) serials of 80s and 90s.
To be honest, I like Panchayat way more than Farzi.
Easy to digest series, very funny but emotional at times.

Like being from village myself,i was not able to relate to many issues. Perhaps because mine is not in remotest part of country. Issues vary from area to area. So villages in remotest part may relate to it. Probably large percentage but not sure if it can be said for all village in country. Developing or fully developed villages may not find same struggles. Mine for certain isn't underdeveloped.so I guess it's had to relate to their craziest struggles. But the husband being incharge of wife's duties as mukhiya, boasting about his field . that's relatable af
I am not sure you will be able to relate with this webseries, coz this is a life of normal government employee and other villagers in most of the villages in India, that's why this webseries is famous in India.
This actor is crack second toughest exam in the world JEE which is more harder then CAT..
One of the best Indian Web Series which is grounded in reality and what villages look like and how the common regular day issues of those folks are. The actors in this show is so REAL ..its amazing. Great casting of some of the best actors both young and old and theatre actors..its an absolute treat to watch something so real. It is actually pronounced 'Fulera'.... actuyally village people have thicker accent and hence say Phoolera
Calling if Fulera(fu-le-ra) is more of an appropriate and correct way of pronunciation, whereas Phulera(phu-le-ra) is a parochial word used over improper pronunciation of Hindi word फ़ (read fa),generally used in interior and rural Indian setting

you'll get to know indian village scene. life there is pretty laid back and chill, boring yet fun. they care so much about others but if a fight broke between two guys it quickly escalates to their families and they never talk to each other. Any outsider is like an alien for them they'll ask general questions like "where are you from?".
I remember when I visited a tiny village in Italy, where some of my distant relatives live and grew up, and I stood out like an alien LOL

After completion of that project they will start the shooting of the family man season 3. It is expected that family man season 3 will come at the end of 2025 or starting of 2026

Everyone living in cities call their native place mera gaon, my village.... when its actually not even a village :p. My comment was specific for villages like phulera. Where do u live??

Well I'm from village , a proper village not even a town ,let alone a city. But yes , it's not like phulera. We have toilets at our home. Most of people in my village have villa. My own house have 3 types of toilets. English seat, indian( flush) & indian(traditional). As for exposure to moniter,idk about phulera type village but I have been (and so did all the families that I know) exposed to moniter since my pre teen years, we had 2g back then. I got internet connection 14 years ago, and it got me addicted to anime & I was already invested in gaming.
Phulera type villages are found in very remote areas in states/regions with crazy level of challenges. So you need to introspect on what you believe
@@PriyaK-cu1fz We don't have clothing stores, beauty salons, vegetable market in village, so go to nearby town for those stuff. We do have grocery stores,barbar shops, women's shop,tailor shops,mini mobile repair shop etc but those are basics for any village.
