Damn shame we lost Paul too COVID. For anyone not believing COVID was real ask Paul Oscher. Or, Even me among millions of others.
Dam now I want one. Played harmonica for years and never even seen one of these
One million thumbs up for this!!
That's what I like to see.... a Guy unpacking and setting up his Ampeg SVT bass amp, for his Harmonica!
underrated af, he's got a nice blues solo on that bass harmonica
never seen or heard a bass harmonica! unique!
Listen to Simon & Garfunkel - The Boxer. Great bass harmonica riffs.
Brian Wilson used it on the Pet Sounds and Smile recordings....
Did you ever watch Sanford and Son? The opening song uses a mean bass harmonica riff.
This is a monster bass, Charlie Mccoy played a bass in Simon & Garfunkel, The boxer.
Ultra cool! Thanks for posting
Excellent !!!
This is a TOMBO Contrabass (No.1140R).
Hamilkar Schaß Sure is!!!
Amazing!
That Blue Monk Quote!
I want one
A good one will cost you a couple of hundred dollars. A really good one may go for at least a grand.
@@38ddkelly Why are they so expensive (compared to regular harmonicas)? Is it mostly because the demand is lower, so it's more of a specialty item?
Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys had a bass harmonica dubbed in on Pet Sounds and other songs, they aren’t cheap :)
I came here straight after hearing their song I Know There's an Answer and thinking "what on earth was that instrument doing the solo???"
@@bravetherainbow same!!!
i always like to play that
It is "The Dragon Fly" from Tombo .
Do you happen to have any links to more information? When I search for Tombo Dragonfly, all I'm finding is general chromatic harmonicas and certainly nothing with that tubular surround. Any more info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :-)
Found it... I didn't realize it was a vintage 1968 instrument. No wonder I was having trouble finding one. So cool!
Tombo
Splat!
what brand of harp is that?
lol a one-verse blues song. nice.
Lookout now!!! www.cdbaby.com/artist/countryboy
I play Diatonic harmonica Idon't know where this guy gets the breath to play that thing
Those are the loveliest farts I've ever heard
Sanford and Son brought me here
I wish he'd stop taking bites of that metal sandwich in between the lines of the song, it's so distracting
hehe
