    The unmistakable sound of that clutch engaging / disengaging is in a class all by itself. You either get it, or you don't. ✊ Ride safe. Guy Speight

    I'd say it's a small percentage of riders have ever kick started a Harley...thanks for the POV, it brings back a thousand memories!

    Bad ass bike, man.

    Nice. I owned a 1973 Shovelhead in the late 1970s. It had been an Indianapolis Police bike. Each winter I bobbed it and chopped it a little more until it had evolved into a hard tail springer chopper. Arlene Ness Digger chromoly frame weighed A fraction of the original frame. Open primary. Foot clutch, no front brake. Nothing on the handlebars except the throttle.

    Had me a 74 fxe back in the 80's
    That scooter was so reliable I'd take it anywhere ... Till some drunken fool destroyed it . some talk bad about the amf years , never feared. 4 amf bikes and almost 40 years I still ride a shovel.
    Killer sled thanks for posting.

      I have a 1974 74" fxe .
      AMF junk they say .
      My father brought it new . He rode it until 1998 . He sold it to me in 2000 and I'm still riding it .

    Amazing bike, looks clean. I can even hear the infamous ticking noise from the engine.

    • @RustinRoberts
      @RustinRoberts  2 года назад

      That noise is possible the pushrods needing to be readjusted. This is a fresh engine build

      Mine never ticked. I put solid lifters in it and kept them adjusted.

    Sounds great 👍, done right those shovels run down the road for years with only a little mantinance , oil etc. You can build one from swap meet parts for next to nothing compared to a new one. If I can do it anyone can .

    Im currently building a shovel in a 4 speed swingarm...wanting to do mids like yours but with a foot clutch.....any thoughts on how to achie
    ve it?

    • @RustinRoberts
      @RustinRoberts  2 года назад

      Could do the same setup as mine and just get a custom linkage that's long enough to reach the clutch arm

    • @RustinRoberts
      @RustinRoberts  2 года назад +1

      Bungking makes customs linkages

    • @spittenred
      @spittenred 2 года назад

      @@RustinRoberts thank you...I will certainly check them out! Great ride BTW...everyone goes rigid...it takes vision and class to do one up in a swingarm...im going to stretch my arm 2 inches to sneak a 200 tire under it and leave the shocks...I forgot to ask you sir...is that a stock length springer and what size wheels...it sits perfectly
