If you manage to make your own VOC Air Quality Sensor, then type #VOCOwned in the comments bellow so we can congratulate you for the efforts!
Thanks Kiril. I have built a particulate matter sensor before, but it lacks the ability to report voc levels. This would be a nice extension to that. I enjoy your videos because your instructions are very comprehensive and you take the time to explain the important details, for example the preheat errors or the sensors self-calibration when it first turns on. Your hard work here is a generous gift to the Home Assistant community.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you find the videos helpful.
Can you please share which particulate matter sensor are you using?
Always making new stuff , i appreciate your time and efforts thank you
My pleasure! Are you going to try it?
@@KPeyanski definitely will try it most of my homeassistant things coming from your channel thank you so much
I have my bathrooms fans on smart switches so that when the humidity reaches a certain level, the fan automatically turns on. Could this sensor be used in the bathroom to turn on the fan automatically for... other air quality issues... close to the toilet?
Haha, interesting question, but I'm not quite sure, I guess you have to try it. It will be best if you share the results :)
VOC, volatile organic compounds, will be the sensor you're looking for in that specific case
and the sensor that I'm talking about is exactly VOC. Check the video please :)
Thanks Kiril. I may try this.
Hey Ron, you preempted my question :) Hope you enjoy!
VOC sensor should be placed in a box with a fan.
It's less reliable reading if the sensor measuring stationary air.
Seems like a good suggestion. Thank you!
Why you need a fan for your box , it will make your readings more reliable ?
Hello, can you make video how to connect multiple sensors to single esp32 board?
Thanks for the suggestion and for the support. I will think about it.
That would be awesome! not many videos on that
I constantly get Reading AGS10 data failed: illegal status (not ready or sensor in pre-heat stage)!, even after changing sensor AGS10 any suggestions ?
After playing around for hours I have discovered that if I change the update_interval: 5s in the yaml file I get some readings now
