thank you so much for your video i did like you done good work.can i please ask you what is your opinion about SHILDON city i want to buy house in shildon.thanks alot
Hi thanks for your comment. I’m not sure what Shildon is like cos I’ve never been. I guess the best bet will be to visit the city, walk around, chat to the local in view of getting an idea of what the city is like.
Oh great. I could see some works going on when I visited. Would you be open to having a conversation around what’s being done to get the town back to its glory days. I’m willing to come out there and we can document this conversation has there are little or no videos online promoting the village and portraying her prospects.
It's not a town it's a village and at one time it was a thriving community where everybody had work and a job to go to there was a lot of community spirit where people helped eachother and got on with eachother and was proud to live in a working community there was a lot of good mining communities in those days all around the north of England and the midlands but they are all gone now and it's created a lot of poverty and decline and it ripped the heart out of the community that's what the miners statue in the park represents
I hear that. Ah I see …the statue of the miner with the heart ripped out ! The decline is such a sorry sight to behold, however it looks like work is on the way to get things going again.
@imolesquare maybe but maybe the council will bye out the few tenants left in the old properties and sale the land to a developer and the developer will knock down the old houses and build new properties on the land cos it will be to expensive for the council to do reservations to the old houses and get them back up to standard
Unfortunately it’s not just Horden that suffers in this way you will find high levels of crime and deprivation in allot of old mining pit communities in Co.Durham. It’s an absolutely shame it’s a stunning County with allot of good people in it and it has been left to rot by the government. That being said there is allot of nice areas in the County too!
Imagine the Horden town when the pit or the mine was fully operational ... The town could have been very vibrant , energetic, and thriving... sadly, it is utter decline now. What a loss
The national union of mine workers, the NCB & Arthur Scargill finished off the pits, yet people around here still blame Margaret Thatcher. The Tories were originally only going to close 20 pits as they weren't financially viable. The strikes & the unions, yet again, caused the end of the mines. When Thatcher passed away, locals set fire to effigies of her. It was disgusting! These people should have done more research about the closures, but they didn't. If i get comments on saying this, I've no doubt they will not be positive, just you watch. Oh, can i add, i come from a mining family
You havn't got a clue about Horden pal.You said if people want a cheap property then come to Horden......every one is trying to leave here. Even migrants from Uganda, Syria, Afghanistan etc etc would not want to live here, they would ask for the air fare to go back to their own shit hole. The council are buying up these properties for asylum seekers etc but they will not last long in this area or maybe they will because they will not have to work and the government will pay for everything for them. The people of Horden were hard working salt of the earth people but have been let down again and again, i used to live in this area in the mid 70s and 80s it was quite a thriving community but now it is a run down shit hole....All governments have let these people down and are to blame for letting this happen and have left these people with nothing and not much hope of a future.
Keep up the good work imole ❤...

At least the back alleys are clear and clean. In Middlesbrough the back alleys look like landfill sites and the houses have people living in them!!
Oh that’s so sad

Absolutely!
