I'm Johnny Heyes and used to love coming to Blackpool especially on a rainy day, where I would swim in the Derby baths in the morning, then ride an old tram single and double deck to the Pleasure Beach for stockingfeet at the Fun House, then back into town by old tram.
Lived at Vermont Grove in Cleveleys during my time in the UK in 84-85 from Australia. Loved the trams, loved the Golden Eagle pub, the Chippy (The Blue Anchor I think) on Anchorsholme Lane, loved going into town and visiting Tower Models, getting a feed at the Coronation Cafe and heading down to Bloomfield Road to watch the Seasiders play (Coldest I've ever been anywhere in my life). Lived there through the winter before three months traveling Europe. Came back to find the population and quadrupled and the trams had grown an extra storey. Loved the place. I wonder how much of that stuff is still there.
Stored on a private site owned by Associated British ports. exported to San Francisco - very few, Many heritage trams still ply up and down the prom. These are owned by the now defunct Fleetwood Heritage Leisure Trust
Yes Balloon car 710 was the tram which "killed" Alan Bradley. It was also sent over to Crich in 1985 to replace trams which the museum hadlent to Blackpool for the tramway Centenary in 1985. It is an absolute disgrace that these trams have just been left to rot, without any sort of cover.

wow this brings back soo many memories of visiting Blackpool as a kid/teen. Recognise the design immediately, even recognise quite a few of the adverts. I remember when the tram depot used to be on Rigby Rd. I believe that's been moved to the South Shor?. The new trams are all very modern and it no doubt makes economic sense, but they just don't have the character of the older trams.
100% spot on. The trams they have now are faster, but soless, i used to love the sound of the rusty tracks and the creaks and cracks. something super special about the old ones, i'm glad i got to do this explore before they disappear forever.

The Old trams better made than new ones today.I remember years ago in Malta they did away with Leyland Buses are replaced them with ARRIVA buses they started to give trouble after a short time Drivers didn't like the arriva buses
I guess with these purple trams Blackpool dont feel the need so much to preserve every vintage tram or have parking space for them. But like the steam trains, & cities bringing them back, maybe every line will have its own preservation & restored trams society.

These look great Danny, I’ve got to find these mate. Loving your style on this, making me want to order a 16mm but I’m skint (as always) and really need a long lens first and keep thinking of going for a drone next year too. The artwork and lettering really shows the age of these, no computer generated stuff here.
Hey Brian, the 16mm lens is really my favourite out of all the fuji lenses. the 85mm is also a great shortish telephoto lens i would recommend. i use the viltrox 85. Drone wise, what model were you thinking about getting?
@@streetroguephotography Drone would have to be one of the Mavic Minis, I know the first will be cheaper but it doesn’t have the Collision Avoidance and as it will be my first I think I’d be better with that. As for lenses I really don’t need a longer one like the 55-230 before anything, I’ve really missed not having a longer lens and I’m off to the Lakes in October too. Yes I know the 50-200 is better and in a perfect world I’d probably go for the the 70-300 but being unable to work it’s jut not possible. I probably know the answer already but are you going to shoot some of the Punks at Rebellion this year? Went with my friend in 2019 and not only did we get some great Street Portraits it was such a good laugh talking to them too, not one said no to us when we asked for a photo besides a couple asking us to buy them a beer, didn’t happen and still got the shot. Got a few things in the diary, Brazilica in Liverpool (19th July), Manchester Pride (28th August), could be a good year if all goes to plan and we don’t get anymore Lockdowns. Just need my Driving License back though but trying to get through on the phone is a joke.
Amazing! Just to think we've probably been on those exact trams! The comment about the stairs made me laugh they were so steep and narrow, moving down them while the tram was moving 🤣 Literally feels like you can point you're camera at anything and make it look amazing. Nice work man 😍
Crich already have ~14 Blackpool and Blackpool & Fleetwood trams from the earliest to the last ones built! Doubt they would be looking to restore any more?!
No secret that's Fleetwood docks we were last here with Johnny vegas for carry on glamping. The black tram is the last tram that was in service with hand painted advertising. It should be in a museum
I wouldn't mind doing a photoshoot with a bunch of my photography club photographers and a fashion model at this tram graveyard who do I contact to set this up?
Another comment. These trams were not being used and were kept in Rigby road depot until there was no more space as the Blackpool council were buying too many old trams and restored them, these had to be shunted out of the depot and were put there.
Suprise that these Blackpool Survivors are still around most of the that where in this site where transferred to Blackpool Rigby Road just 3 years ago a sad site inded that these are neglected to Funcus and to Rust.
Oh wow! I always remember the conductors shouting the names of the stops! “Uncle toms cabin” “gynn square” “bonny street” “star gate” etc! Yeah, sad to see them like this. Total waste. Silly council sold them off, now they just rot. Sad really
@@dinnyallidon it was a brilliant job trying to serve customers and getting the doors for people to get on or off hard work but was worth . Illuminations where the busiest time to work on them but brilliant experience it was 👍
@@dinnyallidon so did I best moment was Tuesdays when fleetwood market was on my god every single tram going was hammered you couldn’t get a seat during that time haha
Hey Dadge, views? i honestly don't care about views, i care about reporting the forgotten. They have been here for years, some trams have ownership issues / disputes etc etc. These trams are rotting badly.......they have been neglected and therefore until something is done to restore....they will remain forgotten. out of sight out of mind.

Nice work man 😍
So cool! thanks for the kind kind words......you cant beat a bit of nostalgia!
The metro one in pink is the Tram 710 that killed Alan Bradley in Coronation Street .
sure is!
Great content mate, sweet location, keep up the good work. Cheers 👍🏻
Black collar project 👻
Thanks for the love! really appreciate it. Your channel is super interesting by the way!!! spooky!
Let Crich tramway museum know about them, could be life yet.
Hi! how can i get in touch with this place you mention?
@@streetroguephotography Simples, just go here - www.tramway.co.uk and leave them a message.
It should be in a museum
defo should be in a museum!
That double deck tram IS the one that ran Alan Bradley over.
Ah..........i thought so! they are getting punished for that bad behaviour! to be fair though, bradley was a bit of a prickster!
Absolutely heartbreaking, these vehicles should be somewhere safe and secure. Most are almost 100 years old
Hey Stuart, i think they may have bee moved.....ill look into it and get back to you! SR
There’s only 3 left now by the way
really? thanks for letting me know. wow....glad i got to photograph them!SR
I wouldn't mind doing a photoshoot with a bunch of my photography club photographers and a fashion model at this tram graveyard who do I contact to set this up?
you don't.....it's gone. they crushed them and sold for crap. sad times. was a cool place
Another comment. These trams were not being used and were kept in Rigby road depot until there was no more space as the Blackpool council were buying too many old trams and restored them, these had to be shunted out of the depot and were put there.
massive shame, i believe they were bought privately with borrowed money, then the buyer disappeared.......
What a shame that would make a brilliant tram museum, Blackpool history really sad, if they could talk.
sure would. a shame for sure.
I guess there is only a limited number of vintage tramcars that can be preserved and looked after, the rest.....rust in peace.
Rust in peace! for sure! cheers!
Suprise that these Blackpool Survivors are still around most of the that where in this site where transferred to Blackpool Rigby Road just 3 years ago a sad site inded that these are neglected to Funcus and to Rust.
huge shame huh!
I use to be a conductor on most of these such a sad way for them to be treated
Illuminations where the busiest time to work on them but brilliant experience it was 👍
@@triggerlegend3115 yeah, simpler times huh! I loved the slide doors, all manually controlled! Those were my fave
@@dinnyallidon so did I best moment was Tuesdays when fleetwood market was on my god every single tram going was hammered you couldn’t get a seat during that time haha
AMAZING! Welcome on board fine sir. Return ticket to the tower please! Hold tight...ding ding. Next stop little bispham.
This is absolute tragedy!!!
yeah, sucks!
I know it helps to get views, but these trams aren't forgotten and this isn't a graveyard.
Why on earth don't they recycle these???
I have no idea! such a waste!
That smell...
yup!
i meant council not you
ah! okies!
These need restoration joke this
sure do! such a shame.
A strange production, with a curious and very indistinct narration. Hopefully it will not attract vandals to the site.
strange is good! they have been there for nearly 14 years, and there is security. the place is safe.
prob robbing for parts
i only take memories son...................never things
Awesome video mate 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Sweet! Than you! i have some other similar vibe videos on my channel! let me know what you think if you can. ps: love your stuff btw
