I love Blackpool. We used to holiday there a lot when I was a kid. I remember the old classic trams with their random designs where it seemed no two trams were ever the same.
Nice vlog on the Blackpool tramway G. I’ve ridden all the routes except the north station one however I am visiting that in a few weeks when I have holiday to Blackpool booked.
The North Euston was built in the early days of the railways. Passengers between London and Scotland would change at Fleetwood for a boat up to Scotland and the North Euston was a stop off point.
Yeah, Fleetwood's builder Sir Peter Hesketh Fleetwood figuared that Shap would be unassalible by train, so people would use his Preston & Wyre Railway to reach Fleetwood, spend a night at the North Euston, then board a boat for Ardrossen and then a tain to Glasgow. Trouble was, only a few years later, Stephenson conquered Shap and the West Clast Main Line was born!
We could have had a real WCML, the ferry from Fleetwood to Peil Island and then up the Cumberland coast to Carlisle, or to Port Patrick for Stranraer and up the Ayrshire coast, pretty, but not quick 😉
I just managed to miss the Illuminations this year, because I was there a few days too early. I did, however, see most of the displays set up ready, and tried to video them from the tram in the rain. By the way, I find your channel interesting and your enthusiasm shines through. Thank you!
You can't beat a foggie tram ride in Blackpool haha, all jokes aside another fantastic Vblog G thank you very much for talking us with u on your adventures 👍🤗
Some great atmospheric shots of the tram in the fog. I believe the extension will be a success. Next year 3,000 civil servants are moving to new offices being built a short walk away from the tram terminus. I foresee quite a few living near the tramway using the tram to get to work. A new college is also planned with thousands of students expected to enrol.
The reason the trams aren't serving north station after 7pm is simply due to the fact that with the illuminations currently on it was felt that it would be very difficult to get the trams across the road onto the new extension plus the trams do get very busy during the illuminations.
The way your eyes lit up when you saw those Tardises ( or is it Tardi 😂) was a joy to behold! I was near Southport last year and we could the Blackpool Tower miles away. Another one on my Bucket List I've not seen! Have a great week!
Another great vlog. I’m sure there used to be a ferry service from Fleetwood ferry to the IOM, one of the ships was called Bison and there also used to be a hovercraft giving pleasure flights from around about there.
I have to say that the new Blackpool North tram stop looks very nice and brand new. Perhaps Blackpool North railway station should also be redeveloped to make it lot nicer. But overall it’s nice to see trams that terminates just outside the railway station where Wilko’s used to be.
Northern Trains will not spend any money to do the station up. They are Scrooges. They do not even like passengers bringing their own food to eat on the train.
The Daleks and Dr Who are part of the illuminated tableaux which are between Cabin and Bispham. Certainly worth taking an Illuminations Tour to have a look at them as they are probably the more part of the Illuminations. The tours start at Pleasure Beach and they use either Heritage Trams or Illuminated Trams.
Brilliant G ! ride the Heritage trams one day and then ferry to Knott end for a coffee :) , that would make a good video . keep up the good work love yr videos G :)
There's nowhere quite like Blackpool, is there?! Glad to see the iconic tramway going from strength to strength with the new extension - I can vaguely remember being taken there on holiday as a child, years before the trams were upgraded with the modern ones. Been back a couple of times since, and I will get down there again. Chuckled when the tram pulled in at the stop at Norbreck - I have stayed in that massive monstrosity of a hotel...!
Great vlog as always G and you will definitely have to return for the illuminations and a long time i went to Blackpool for the Dr who Exhibition and when you are next in London go to Earls Court Underground Station as there is a police box outside the station
Brilliant video G, I've been on the Blackpool trams, they're quite good, I like how they use heritage trams on it as well. And yes I call it a train station and always have called it a train station.

I last went on Blackpool trams in 1992. They were all traditional trams then. I know that it’s a working transport system rather than a heritage line but it’s not the same with these modern trams. I loved the ride to Fleetwood especially going past the Fisherman’s Friend factory (I love to suck a Fisherman’s Friend 😂) when you can taste rather than smell the produce.
Have you visited Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire? Beside being a recreated village, it's loaded to the gills with trams. Also a good excuse to stop by Whatstandwell and the Cromford canal.
Crich is brilliant - I went there a few years ago and managed to ride a Glasgow tram, which has family significance to me as my granny on my mum's side was born and raised in the city. It was fun.
I seen your video's for the first time last week when your walked from Wigan to Crosby. You walked through my street in Skelmersdale and I watched a few more vids. They are really good😊😊
Brilliant vlog riding the Blackpool trams 👍 If you do tram Versing in Blackpool, the heritage trams have different stops to the modern ones (due to the platform height on the modern tram stops)

I've driven trams for 10 years in a museum setting, sadly no longer due to circumstances, I can easily drive it again as it's just like riding a bike. 😊
Loved the video "G" True story for you. The North Euston Hotel. 1978: Fleetwood Open Sea fishing competition (from the beach). Yours's truly as a 16 year old fishing with my father and two Uncles got in the prizes and the weights were good. I don't know how true this is but apparently some of the older trams (the ones you typically see on postcards) are still in use but on rare occasions
Did you get any chips by the way, any recommendations if you did for me on Saturday 😄
I actually didn't get any in the end. Last year we tried a tofu-ish and chips from Papas if that's your kind of thing (can't remember how much it was tho 😂)
@@GLovesTrains yeah I'm aware of them, I tried them when I went earlier in the year, I had the same thing, I liked them 😊 well I'm vegan too, I actually tried it because of your blackpool video
I still think no catch in Brighton is better 😊
If I try them again or anywhere else I can let you know
But I'll probably be full from avantis 1st class menu so I can tell you what that is like I think there's some new things on there what's not just a salad 🥗
@@ChristopherPinoh yeah we may have actually discussed that before 😂. And cool let me know if there's anything other than a salad lol!
@@GLovesTrains no worries, I don't expect you to remember everything I put in a comment 😊
I'll let you know what I try probably in your next video now 😊
Seems strange that the last tram of the day was at 9.25 AM !!
7.15 Ex-tram-i-nate!
Tram in Manchester maybe the whole network in a day
The Wigan to The Blackpool with knickers on yer 'ead?
