    This is a sorta odd comparison but this Montessori kitchen gray water design is similar to yours and goes to a larger container. Also thought a big laundry detergent jug with the spout on one side and the cap on the top front may work to hold more gray water and allow you to outlet it as needed more easily. Like the five gallon All free and clear laundry detergent container from Costco. I think it’s actually maybe 2 gallons but it has a spout and would hold more than one gallon. Just love these little projects you do.

      Thank you so much for commenting! I’m so glad it helped! Are you working on any other projects where a video would be helpful? I loved both redoing the kitchen and making the video. Thanks again for being so kind and good luck if you’re ready to do your own!

    I love this. I am wondering how many times do you need to empty the dirty water in this kitchen?

    • @myfrugalmommylife
      @myfrugalmommylife  7 месяцев назад

      Hi! Thanks for watching and for your kind comment. As you probably suspect, how often you need to change the water depends on how your child uses the kitchen. If they run the water a long time when washing hands or wash several times a day you probably need to change daily. Otherwise you may have longer between changes. Remember though you can change the dirty water when the clean runs out. Your below sink containers should be roughly the same size. I hope that helps!

    Very cool; I was expecting you to turn the microwave into an 'easy bake oven' when it said fully functional though.

      That’d be so cool! Sorry to disappoint! Thanks for watching and commenting!

      Sure! You need to actually loosen or take off one of the sides of the top to slip the rod out. Here’s the instructions for the kitchen so you can see what you need to loosen. Check out step 15/16 www.ikea.com/il/he/assembly_instructions/duktig-play-kitchen-birch__AA-1799826-13-2.pdf

      You can use a bunch of different things…velcro like the sink or even something like Quake Hold or command strips. Good luck!

    I'm so impressed by your design and the return you made on the unwanted items. Has the childproofing door caused any tantrums?

    • @myfrugalmommylife
      @myfrugalmommylife  2 года назад +2

      Thanks so much for the kind words. No tantrums yet from the door, though it’s easier if filling/emptying the bottles in that side get done without a child present!

    Would it be easier to have like a large tub under the sink that has the correct amount of water but also goes under sink like a washing up shape bowl, secure the water pump hose to it so it takes water out but then drains directly back into it like a full round operational system if that makes sense struggling to explain
    Just because I know I'd be useless at swapping them 😅

    • @myfrugalmommylife
      @myfrugalmommylife  Год назад

      I think you’re just suggesting the same water recirculate :) certainly an option though remember that water is getting dirty too so still probably needs to be swapped at some interval

    I clicked because it said fully functional and my mind immediately went "There's no way she got a working microwave and over on that kitchen" OBVSLY I didn't ACTUALLY expect that to be the case but that's where my mind went with "FULLY FUNCTIONAL"

    • @myfrugalmommylife
      @myfrugalmommylife  Год назад

      Sorry to disappoint! I definitely could have at least added one of those little mini refrigerators to make it even closer to fully functioning!

      Some people use Velcro or that blue sticky clay. I thought I might need something additional to secure it but haven’t. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    • @myfrugalmommylife
      @myfrugalmommylife  Год назад

      Hi! It’s a metal rod but I just separated the top piece of the kitchen from the bottom and just that little bit of wiggle room let it drop out. Hope that helps. Thank you for commenting and sorry I didn’t see it sooner!

    How did you make the silverware box?

    • @myfrugalmommylife
      @myfrugalmommylife  2 года назад

      Thanks for asking and for watching. I just used a wood puzzle piece box and then used wood glue to put cut-down paint sticks as dividers. Then I added the decals. Links to those in the video description :)

      I used blue tac for my daughter and she pulled it out in a few days :D I am thinking of getting velcro now. Actually it was just a lil bit of blue tac so it didnt last.

    • @myfrugalmommylife
      @myfrugalmommylife  2 года назад +1

      I tried velcro like what I used for the sink but wasn’t super happy with it because the bottom isn’t flat. Blue tac sounded promising!

      @@myfrugalmommylife Ahh!!! I try more blue tac then. It was the last pack and I didnt have enough when i used the last time.
