Does anybody remember growing up wishing our mini kitchen, and mini supplies could actually have water coming outta the sink, or having your own little fridge that you can just grab your own food whenever can? Now we can do what we wished we could do for our children. I started giving my kid mini glass spice containers that looks like cups, and she'd rather have that than most of her other cups because it looks like a smaller version of our cups, and she can just hold it with one hand instead of having to use both hands because the cup is too big. And I have a small little dorm fridge in our place which she's always getting in to, to grab her already prepped containers of chopped bananas, grapes, and strawberries, so she doesn't always have to wait for me to feed her.
Well I'm a kid I have been wishing for a kithen toy set but happily I'm omg I'm so excited I can't event say ok but in 12 days I'm getting my kithen toy finally after 2 years wishing for a kithen toy!!!!❤
Excellent idea! Extremely practical, and best of all teaches independence! I had my son in Montessori, and boy oh, boy did that work out well! He’s super independent, organized and cleans up after himself, makes his bed and never has clothes on the floor. At Montessori they had mats to play on for activities, once finished they were to put the activity away in its spot (teaching them, if you put things in their place you’ll know where it’s at next time), and rolled up the mat. At lunch they had them use real utensils and plates, once finishes they put their plates in the sink. I love the Montessori concept! Nice job putting this together for him!
Ahhhh! O my gosh I absolutely love this! I would love to send both boys to a Montessori school here where live but for the year it’s the cost of a new Honda LOL
This is really cool. I run a Montessori daycare. I'd recommend getting rid of the sippy cup and plastic plates. I use the kids range of small plates and porcelain cups from IKEA. It teaches them to be careful and instills trust and respect. Plus they're easy to replace but are really robust....I've had mine 2 years and had no breakages and the children are between 1 and 5 years old. You've given me some awesome ideas, especially with the tap! Bravo mama x
I have been looking for an ikea kitchen hack that would have “running” water without the rough in or the dispenser jar! What a great idea! THEN the fridge idea is amazing. I was thinking of a mini fridge but this is even better😂 micro fridge! I love it! Thank you for sharing!
I would also contact paper the bench to make it waterproof and then superglue the water pump to the contact paper etc. that way it doesn’t move. I agree with previous comments about drilling into the sink and do a grey and fresh water containers. It’s so good! I love it 🥰
This. Is. Outstanding. First time mom with a 3mo old and I definitely plan to do this. I attended a Montessori preschool as a kid and am so excited to introduce Montessori to our son!
Getting ready to convert our Ikea play kitchen for my daughter and watching your video was truly inspiring. I absolutely love everything you did to set up your son's kitchen and eating area. Awesome video
this is the cutest, i was gonna ask where you got his little table from then i saw the end haha, but also just a tip it’s helps with the water if you drill holes in the sink so that it will drain into a bowl or jar and not overflow. i use 2 different mason jars under the sink one for fresh water and one to catch the dirty water,
Holy moly! This is really inspiring me to do something similar for my almost 3yo twins-they already love their IKEA kitchen, but they’d lose their little toddler MINDS if we tricked it out with functionality! And giving them 24/7 snack access terrifies me, but I think it’s time 😂
Omg!!! This is the BEST!! I’ve been looking for a video like this for SO LONG because I’ve been wanting to convert her play kitchen to a functional kitchen once baby girl gets a little older!!! Thank you for this!! Now my parents and in laws are going to be wondering why we have a water dispenser on her 2nd birthday wishlist. 😂😂😂 Super helpful, Leanna! 💕 You are a great mama setting up Tatum for success when he becomes a big brother!! 😍
This is such a great idea!! Love it. This may have been mentioned already in the comments, but could you drill a hole in the plastic sink for the water to drain back in the bowl? That way it shoudnt over flow.
I’m so glad you enjoyed and yes ma’am someone mentioned it. Genius! We did that and it works beautifully. We did two bowls though. One the water comes out of and one it goes in to so that water is always clean 😍
I’m attempting to do this for my 2.5 year old’s Christmas! This video was so cute and it turned out lovely! I feel like I’ll probably love it more than she will. 😂 Loved watching you! 💕
That's awesome😍, I'm in love with this little kitchen! I didn't think that it was so easy to make (but that's it). I will do this for my future family, because I can see everyday on work how Montessori works on toddlers😊. Thank u for this Video
This looks so amazing! I got the kidkraft farm to table toy kitchen from Amazon because it went down to $70 but seeing this inspired me to turn it into a functional kitchen for my 14 month old
We have the same kitchen for our granddaughter. I did the same thing with the faucet but i also put in a drain for the sink. That way it will never run out of water as the water drains back into the bowl.
I was a sahm for the first year and a half of my baby girls life but we needed a second income so I can finally afford to do this and I’m so excited for it
I wanna do this for my niece now she would love it but idk w her mom would act abt this she already has a toy kitchen but I wanna do the fridge and water thing
Love it!! Update please with how the products you used have held up and if he still uses it? I want to do this but I’m having trouble finding a water pump that doesn’t have reviews on Amazon that state they break within a couple months
This is amazing, I just ordered the IKEA play kitchen for my soon to be 3 year old for his birthday. Please could you share what has worked for you and hasn't since you installed the kitchen
Just have to say I love your voice! ❤️ beautiful mama. If possible could you do an update video after having had it functioning? How it's going, pros, cons. Also idk if you mentioned it or where I could find the square air tight containers. Does Tatum handle them himself like opening and closing? Thanks for your insightful video!
This is such a great idea! I was looking for ideas for my little girl. How is it holding up? Is there anything you would/have changed since you posted the video?
Awesome ideas 💡! Melissa and Doug have some cute pots and pans with a stand to hold them and stainless steel utensils with a holder. We just order some to add to our girls kitchen bc they are always cooking in it and wanting to help or watch me cook. I love the idea of putting some real things in for them as well. Just be careful with the raisins and your dogs since they are toxic to them. I know my girls are always trying to share with our dogs so thought I'd share 🐕 ❤. You did such a great job on his kitchen! Come to AZ and fix my kitchen girl! Lol 😆
How many years do you think your son will play with it? I have a 2 yr old and want to make a Montessori kitchen for him in a year or 2, when I move into a bigger home. Hoping he won’t have outgrown it by that time.
I think until he can get stuff out of our big fridge. We have one with the refrigerator at the top and freezer drawer at the bottom. I’m thinking it will be at least another two years but I also just had another baby boy 4 months ago so I plan to use it with him as well 😍 I hope this helps ♥️♥️
I'm sorry for my silly question, how or what activity does he do in the kitchen like he eating breakfast there in his room.maybe snacks and washing his plates ?? And the ovens ?

I actually searched this up- didn’t think many result would come up- but here we are. This idea is so adorable lol

Great idea! Thank you 😊
This is so cute! Your such a good mom to go through all the trouble of doing all this! I know he must love it!
Thank you! He’s loving it! I think it’s going to be so great to have 😍

I think you can buy it like i saw this play set
I went back and drilled holes like you said! 😍 it works perfectly! Great advice!
@@Lifebyleannamichelle if you drain the water straight into a watering can (and use plant friendly soap), you can re use the water easily
That’s Brilliant girl!! That’s the cutest kitchen ever! Very clever!
Thank you so much 😊 ♥️

That’s a great idea! We ended up just drilling holes in his sink. Thankfully it was an easy fix and works perfectly 🙌 thank you so much for watching 😍
Does the water get nasty? Does she use it to wash her hands before meals?
@@rayellejohnson9961 we replace it after every visit.. it’s just a small bucket that fits on the first shelf.
At first I thought it was a real Kitchen but it's just a toy one. This is so cute.

I was a sahm for the first year and a half of my baby girls life but we needed a second income so I can finally afford to do this and I’m so excited for it
Awww I bet you loved that! ♥️♥️I’m excited for you!
I did something like that, but added a real gas burner, as kids are completely able to manage it and really cook when supervised.
What a great video! 😍

Hi! Can you tell me where you got your kitchen helper tower from? The one he was standing in to help you with the dishes.
Yes! It’s from Amazon 😍 it’s called a learning tower

I have a mini fridge like that but I’ll recommend that don’t keep drinks in the fridge for too long otherwise I’ll freeze into ice

Lol So cute where is the stove though?
Thank you! I took it off to make room for the fridge. With it in it wobbled

You should cut holes in the sink at the bottom so it doesn’t over flow
So cute! I’m a nanny and I’m just wondering if you can send me the links of the items ☺️
They are all in the drop down bar of the video 😍 it’s the little arrow to the right under the video ♥️♥️
I want cookies too, Tatum
my daughter keeps pulling the water pump out. Any tips anyone?
Its more than parents hobby than kids ... 🤣 Im not parent but 25 yr old girl n i want that kitchen for myself 😭
Where did you get the little strainer?
What size are the containers for the snacks ?
What toddler tower do you recommend?
This is so coooooool :P
So I have 4 little brothers and I help with them. I want to do this for them
They would love this!
where did you get cutting board?
Hi where did you get the cutting board?
you could put holes in the sink so it drains back into the bowl!
Where is that little spoon holder from?
It’s actually a little sugar dish for coffee from Amazon
Wow I was not expecting this accent 🤗✨
Lol 😆 yea she’s a string one 🤣
Where did you get the small fridge please

Just bought the same play kitchen today, the paint smells so bad and have to return them. I guess I will just make one with solid wood.
Hi did this actually work ? Or did your kid just made a mass with the kitchen ?
