Elden Ring actually uses the same fall damage system as DS1. The only thing they changed is the amount of %damage you take in elden ring, and when you start taking that damage (Earlier in DS1, the cutoff is like 5meters in DS1 vs 12m or so in Elden RIng). Meaning that even if a fall is almost lethal, it will only ever do up to 1/2 your HP bar (less with more dexterity) Makes for a very ... confusing system. Really feels like they didn't flesh the fall damage in Elden Ring out (they didn't)

First, congratulations on the run, I'm taking it as a reference to speedrun too, but I want to clear up a doubt, why didn't Nito damage you when you defended with crescent axe? I tried, but I took it and died LOL, could you explain? that attack he hits the ground and his sword leaves the ground too.
Thanks! When blocking with certain weapon types your character takes a stance where the feet are quite far apart, which is why the attack hitbox doesnt touch them. Maybe you didnt stand completely still while doing it, if your character moves even just a little bit it will touch the edge of your leg. Hope this helps

why i have to wait so much more after i kill gwyn? also if I rejoin to the game I m not teleported out of boss area so still i have to run to the edning
If you kill Gwyn with a parry then the fight ends immediately since the death animation is skipped. Then you have to quitout very fast (just when you get the soul drop) so that the fight counts as won, but the arena is still active for a few frames, so that your respawn position doesnt get updated and you rejoin outside of the arena and get the cutscene immediately.
Why the 2nd visit to blight town though? Wouldn't it be faster to get the bonfire straight after the spider lady and warp there later, instead of running all the way there again from firelink?
Yes it would be faster to warp instead of running there but then you wouldn't be able to homeward bone back to firelink after quelaag which would cost even more time
Killing Ingward at the start is a really cool strat. I wonder why you killed the crystal lizard in Lost Izalith, given how optimized the run is. Did you upgrade the BKH a second time super quickly with the Weapon Smithbox and I just didn't notice or was it backup or a setup for something?
Seeing the path around the edge of the lava was cool, had no idea ceaseless discharge was able to be skipped like that. I always get 1 shot trying to run past him back to the fog wall after picking up the robes to get him to jump over. Guessing the arrow that was shot was to lure the capra demon off the start of the path? Also super confused about the Seath fight, I thought normally you spawn in with the crystal behind him, not behind your character. And no clams made their way into the arena. And Seath was stunlocked or something? I know he has an animation for breaking the crystal to allow some hits in but it looked like it took longer than that and he didn't try to attack at all. Guessing it has something to do with being in midair from the jump as the cutscene triggers?
Yea the arrow was to make capra fall off, he can get really annoying otherwise The first seath fight is different, since in the cutscene you approach the crystal and then he flies in from behind. In later attempts he is already waiting for you so the crystal is behind him. He couldn't do anything because after the stagger he always does the same attack, which is slow enough to allow you to kill him before he can do anything
@scewps Ah that makes sense. I forgot all about the initial seath fight having different placement since I always immediately quit out to stop the clam things from sneaking in. Appreciate the explanation, thanks
Incredible run, congratulations! When I killed nito there were two larger skeletons as well that always gave me a hard time. Where were they in your run?

Thinking about trying this run if I have free time but enjoying this even still! As someone who doesn't speedrun at all why do you quit out after beating the Asylum Demon and what happens with Queelag if you don't have BK Halberd?
I just got to Sif and you quit out at that door opening as well so I think it's because it saves time by quitting out than just waiting for the door to open. Also the Blighttown fall to the swamp was insannnne
Yes the quitouts at the doors save time, since runs are measured with ingame time, which is paused during loading screens. If the halberd doesnt drop I have to restart the run.
Dying after triggering the dark anor londo cutscene always respawns you at the first anor londo bonfire for some reason, even if you never rested there. That allows you to skip it after iron golem which saves ~15 seconds in total
wait, how tf,not onlly i was impressed by such clean mouvements but i was even more CONFUSED,how come someone with such clean mouvements, new shortcuts, new playthrought (not usual thief+black bombs) only have 200 subs ???
I'm really no expert, but what was the point in blocking the attacks of the hallow people before the gargoyl boss fight? Does doing that stop them from hitting you on the way up the ladder, or something? I'm confused why you stopped to block their hit there.
And when I fight Seath, I must fight him with 3-4 other shells, they do not disappear in my DS1. Unless I dispose of them earlier. How come I see all these records, and no shell is following players into the Seath arena ... bs
Why didn't you lit Daughter of Chaos bonfire after you beat Quelaag ? After you obtain the lord vessel, you could've warp here.(probably there's some reason for that but I just wondered)
I actually tried to bait the running attack haha, it just didn't work this time. So I used a backup strat. Normally I run towards the wooden bench and then turn right sharply so he does the running attack, through which you can just backstep and that's perfect RTSR.
Hey, first of all, thanks for the run, i have been using it as a base to try my runs, second, im interested in the skin change color script, but im having a hard time finding it, could you give me info about the script? thank you
Hey, I hope your runs are going well! The color script is a modified version of this one: github.com/goofball564/DSSkinColorRandomizer/tree/main It sets your color randomly each loading screen and I changed it to always choose the same one. Hope this helps
gg! why do i see all speedrunners killing themselves after shooting Gwynevere? you have tons of souls to spend and a bonfire right next to you to teleport from, no?
Thanks! If you die after triggering the dark anor londo cutscene you will always respawn at the first anor londo bonfire after. That allows us to skip it before going to o&s (and we need it for seath later) which saves about 15 seconds in total. Losing the souls is fine since we still get all required levels towards the end of the run
The short answer is yes, the male character is usually faster. There is a difference in how the two characters accelerate and decelerate. Male characters accelerate and decelerate slower (slower deceleration meaning the character preserves its speed for longer, which is a good thing), female characters accelerate and decelerate faster. So both have their upsides and downsides. However since most speedrunners use weapon toggling to skip the acceleration animation the male version is technically the better choice. In total it barely makes a difference though, its maybe a few seconds over the course of a run. Complicated answer for a very simple question I know 😂 There's a good video explaining it in detail ruclips.net/video/RQKb1DtUUaY/видео.html

@@scewps so you are replaying the first 8 minutes how many times until you get the BKH to drop? it seems to have really low RNG
@@lilbubbamane the drop chance is about 23% with 1 humanity, so one in 4 or 5 runs will be eligible for leaderboards
@@scewps wow not as bad as i thought, thanks for the reply! great run!
I can only respect glitchless runs. Nice job
thx
After kill O&S is there any reason to die instead warp to the firelink shrine?
Dying after triggering the dark anor londo cutscene always respawns you at the first anor londo bonfire for some reason, even if you never rested there. That allows you to skip it after iron golem which saves ~15 seconds in total
@@scewps ohhh I see. It makes sense now. I had a little heart attack when I saw those 90k souls losed.
wait, how tf,not onlly i was impressed by such clean mouvements but i was even more CONFUSED,how come someone with such clean mouvements, new shortcuts, new playthrought (not usual thief+black bombs) only have 200 subs ???
I'm really no expert, but what was the point in blocking the attacks of the hallow people before the gargoyl boss fight? Does doing that stop them from hitting you on the way up the ladder, or something? I'm confused why you stopped to block their hit there.
i think because their attack getting blocked staggers them, stopping them from being able to catch up to him
Tomb of giant skip blown my mind lol
26:50 ? why does he give away 91k souls
I have the same question :c
To respawn at the first anor londo bonfire
Actual question, was the dukes archive skip not a glitch?
And when I fight Seath, I must fight him with 3-4 other shells, they do not disappear in my DS1. Unless I dispose of them earlier. How come I see all these records, and no shell is following players into the Seath arena ... bs
there is a pathing to avoid them, you can see it before triggering the cutscene :)
@@scewps Kudos.
The original “op start”
cara, que run incrivel. Acabei de zerar e ver isso agora é insano
obrigado :)
You did more in 45 minutes than I did in 3 weeks
I'm no expert in speed running by any means, but couldn't you have dodged that first arrow to prevent being staggered, to save time?
Why didn't you lit Daughter of Chaos bonfire after you beat Quelaag ? After you obtain the lord vessel, you could've warp here.(probably there's some reason for that but I just wondered)
Just so I can use the homeward bone after quelaaf
what weapon did you use during the run?
Why did You Kill yourself in 26:58?
Is it because No homeward bone or something? Because other guy who make glitchless speedrun also did this
a question, in minute 9:09 how do you bait the light attack of the knight? he always hit me two times with the hard attack.
I actually tried to bait the running attack haha, it just didn't work this time. So I used a backup strat. Normally I run towards the wooden bench and then turn right sharply so he does the running attack, through which you can just backstep and that's perfect RTSR.
@@scewps aaah great, i'll try that, tysm
Hey, first of all, thanks for the run, i have been using it as a base to try my runs, second, im interested in the skin change color script, but im having a hard time finding it, could you give me info about the script? thank you
Hey, I hope your runs are going well! The color script is a modified version of this one: github.com/goofball564/DSSkinColorRandomizer/tree/main
It sets your color randomly each loading screen and I changed it to always choose the same one. Hope this helps
When I start the game and choose the same character options, he isn't blue? What's up with that?
its a custom livesplit script
Glitched speedruns are like watching a movie trailer instead of the movie. Boring!
I'm comparing this true speedrun against glitched runs btw
gg! why do i see all speedrunners killing themselves after shooting Gwynevere? you have tons of souls to spend and a bonfire right next to you to teleport from, no?
Thanks! If you die after triggering the dark anor londo cutscene you will always respawn at the first anor londo bonfire after. That allows us to skip it before going to o&s (and we need it for seath later) which saves about 15 seconds in total. Losing the souls is fine since we still get all required levels towards the end of the run
Why is lost izalith door not locked ?
because I gave 30 humanity to the chaos covenant
hi just a quick question does it matter whether you play as a man or a woman? thanks
Complicated answer for a very simple question I know 😂
There's a good video explaining it in detail ruclips.net/video/RQKb1DtUUaY/видео.html
@@scewps wow thats interesting, good to know thank you for your reply!
This is the best alternative for a map you will find for this game... Smh
Im sure this is mostly applicable to ng+ right? Of course not for the sake of trying to "speedrun" just trying to "beat the game fast-ish"
Now do a 100% complete speed run >:)
12:28 was so damn funny and abrupt 🤣💀
