Sorry you got a bad room at the Flamingo. We're on a tight budget and it's usually our hotel of choice. Have always enjoyed our stays there. Your videos are fantastic. You hit on all the important points in a concise manner.
@@andrebala3297 thank you SO much! I NEED to get back to MB. It’s not in my immediate plans, but I’ll get it on the list! I wrote a review of a suite a couple years back, but it’s a great resort and I view the location as a positive. My review: lasvegasthenandnow.com/mandalay-bay-one-bedroom-penthouse-sky-view-suite-review/
The weekend night noise from clubs outside & around the Flamingo is loud, annoying, and headache causing! I love the location of the Flamingo, have stayed there many times, during the week the noise isn’t noticeable but weekends it is a whole other level, constant bass booming till 2-3am. Fortunately I have never had a room lacking in cleanliness as much as Jake’s was. I once had a Tower room that had no Wi-Fi and I was able to get the resort fee deducted.
Stayed several years ago and was really excited beforehand and was soooo disappointed when I got to the room . Not only was it not that clean the mattress I had was the type where you roll to the middle and have to fight your way out ! To their credit they refunded me when I complained about the mattress. Great review as always, thanks!
A bit scary lol, since I'm booked for next month. I've stayed before and it was totally ok, I love the location and the decor. Most cheaper hotels look so bland. I've stayed in the Go rooms before, loved the kitchy decor but they are really worn so booked a Flamingo this time. We'll see lol. Good video as always!
Sorry you had a bad experience with your room. I come from the East Coast and have stayed at the Flamingo many times. Most recent was the Flamingo Executive Room in May of 2022. I think it was recently renovated. It was in great shape. Have not been back to Vegas since. I’m sure over 2 years of visits take its toll on the room. But that’s not an excuse for keeping up the rooms. Really miss it. I’m sure if I return, it will be to the Flamingo. Have stayed at the Linq, Paris, and Mirage but the Flamingo is my preferred stay. Just to mention didn’t see Piff at the Flamingo when I was there but I saw him at the Borgata in Atlantic City. He was great! Wish you could visit Atlantic City to share your experience there.
@@TheVictorCruz I’m telling you though, this is a really nice budget room if they just cleaned it and touched up paint once in a while. From a distance, it was great!
Interesting take. Flamingo is my go-to LV hotel as I'm Caesars Diamond and don't pay resort fees. I also only have mid-week stays on weeks with no big conventions, so things are less crowded and the rooms are very cheap. At these rates I don't worry too much if the room is a bit dated/beatup, and sometimes I get rooms in the updated Habitat tower. I'm actually happy that the pool is gone because they blast music there all day, and that is irritating if I'm in a backside room. I've only dined at Bugsy twice using my Diamond annual credit, and didn't find it particularly good. I don't eat or gamble at the hotel and prefer to gamble at Caesars Palace across the Strip. For breakfast I walk to Ellis Island, and for fast food I go to In-and-Out Burger in the LINQ Alley. For a late night meal I'll walk to the Stage Door for hot dogs and beer. If I have a rental car I dine off-Strip.
I feel like diamond status should be earning you a room at a nicer resort than Flamingo! Obviously, you've got the neighborhood all figured out though and are taking advantage all the good deals which makes Flamingo a great home base. Early afternoon visits to Stage Door are my guilty pleasure.
@@StalkingTheStrip In the past I've stayed at Harrahs and LINQ as well. I spend little time in the room, so I just go cheap. When I have Hilton credit or free nights I stay at Resorts World.
We stayed at the Flamingo back in August and, even though we like the location and the history of it being a strip original, it sure seemed to be going downhill as far as maintenance and cleanliness compared to when we were there earlier in the year in April. I'm just making a comparison between the rooms we were in and can't speak for anyone else's experience. I don't trust those dispensers in the bathroom and shower. We bring our own tubes of body wash and shampoo and buy them at the nearby CVS if we need more. Who knows what's really been put in those dispensers.
I've stayed there a couple times now in the past few years and both rooms were rough around the edges. This one just wasn't swept, ha. As long as the dispensers lock and can't be tampered with I'll trust 'em. But I like to gamble.
Have lived in Las Vegas nearly 20 years. The problem with so many hotels in Las Vegas are the type of guests who visit. Most of them are here to party and to do things here in Las Vegas the they would never dream of doing in their own home towns. Hotel rooms in the best of situations get a lot of use and abuse but here it is much worse.
@@StalkingTheStrip I would imagine that many hotels here simply throw up their hands with having to go back and repair damage. No doubt that they also go cheap on housekeeping and that the staff is overworked. That is my guess as I am not in the hotel business.
We've stayed at Flamingo twice over the years; Both stays were terrible! 1-no hot water, cheaply appointed, filthy, beat up room 2-hardly any AC, filthy, noisy, beat up room (Go Room) Funny, we noticed the smells several times at Flamingo too, only it wasn't confined to just the outdoor zoo area... On many occasions, I swear you could smell the grease in the air in the food court, and we've smelled sewer odors throughout the facility on several occasions (no - that wasn't me...). Not to mention the old carpet in the casino smells like Bugsy Segal himself must have spilled kegs of bear and dumped every ashtray ever used, right on the floor, and nobody ever got around to cleaning it up. As far as the gamble; I've sat on several trips and watched people shove C-notes into their machines in quick succession without so much as a small hit. I've played tons of VP over the years and found the machines there have always had terrible pay tables and terrible payouts, and many are so filthy the buttons didn't even operate. Perhaps some of the worst, most unfriendly bartenders we ever found on the strip work at Bugsy's Bar. We gave the Dirty Bird a chance and then a second chance, but we gave up on them years ago. Flamingo to us is just an air conditioned walkway when we are heading to and from other casinos. Sounds like you vindicated us. Zk
Oooof... no hot water is rough. Even though the gaming floor is a bit grimy and not a great gamble (what casino on the Strip is though?), I still feel nostalgic for it. It certainly makes a great air conditioned walkway though! Ultimately, I suppose it's a cheap lower tier property and serves a specific market segment well.... and that market segment isn't me in it's current state.
Is my house an iconic Las Vegas Strip resort that welcomes thousands of paying guests weekly? But, actually, yes I do. I'm a psycho about touch up paint. I also sweep, vacuum, and clean my shower.
Also curious - Horseshoe is one of the last resorts on the Strip I have yet to stay at (although I did stay in their old tower that's now part of Paris). It falls into a similar price bucket, so I wonder if it'll be a bit rough around the edges as well. Please report back if you think of it!
I like Flamingo better than horseshoe unless there have been renovations the room I had 2 years ago was awful outlets to charge didn't work, seemed small and dark. I prefer the Flamingo been there several times and never an issue
Was at Flamingo 3 times in the past 10years and it's going downhill , last time in 2023 service was bad changed room 3 times and they all were dirty . Ended up changing hotel the next day went at planet Hollywood and it was great . Will not be back at the Flamingo .
I love the history of it and hanging out there from time to time. The hotel has now underwhelmed on a couple of occasions. I feel the bones are good, they just need to.... care...
@StalkingTheStrip agreed, I take a stroll through every time I'm in Vegas but I don't dare stay lol. I don't think Cesars care much about this property, unfortunately
Booked a stay at flamingo lately. At arrival no online Check in was possible and I had to wait in line at Front desk for about an hour. They had no rooms due to some hot water issue and just sent me over to the LINQ. Next day I had to move back to flamingo at checkout. But rooms still not available, so again back to the LINQ. They did not even offer to waive Resort fees and lied to me about responsibilities etc. Really sad. :(
That's pretty wild. Give those self check in kiosks a shot next time vs. the line. They don't always work for me, but if they do, they're much faster. Sounds like a lot of BS you had to deal with. Ooof.
@StalkingTheStrip normally yes, but I assume they had a known issue and cancelled all these bookings and set a notice that you have to go to the counter.
Flamingo is called the dirty bird for a reason. I enjoy your informative videos, thank you.

Looks like they just need to step up maintenance a little bit. Nice review 👍👍

The hotel gave off a sleazy vibe at times when I visited it in July, though the food at the Mexican joint was fine.

True, especially at the price point. But this was beyond a few dings, dents, and scuffs. This room was neglected.
