There are designers who find old buildings with awkward or no-traditional shapes and proportions and use ingenuity to convert them to liveable spaces. In these cases, creativity and compromise exercised to make a workable design. If this were one of those, I’d doff my hat to you. I think intentionally starting with an octagonal-shaped house was…a choice. A choice that led to other choices that make this space perhaps more complicated than it had to be. I found the window dimensions and dark ceilings make the space feel shorter -maybe French doors or something with more vertical height? I also got the feeling that the dishwasher might not open all the way without hitting the counter opposite. The lighting in the central living space might be a challenge but I’m not sure. I sound like I’m full of nothing but complaints but I like a creative design and I liked many of your design choices (materials, colours, etc.). I look forward to seeing more of your ideas!

This is a very lovely home!
I think this is a very unique but cool design. It has pros and cons, but it's a likable house. It needs wider doorways throughout the house and could benefit from greatly from heavy and solid wood pocket doors. I love the bookshelves in the living room. I think the laundry/mudroom is a very good use of space, equipped with storage and workspace. I like that it is a true "drop zone" area in the home. The kitchen looks like it has decent storage and countertop space, and good pantry space just adjacent. The window in the sink area needs to be as wide as the sink and countertop area beneath it to allow more light into the room. A bumpout window would be great because it would provide shelf space for growing herbs.
I think this house is screaming for a bathtub and separate shower in one or both bathrooms. I'd steal space from somewhere to make that happen.
I could add more revisions, but I digress.

Why do your fridge doors always open to the wrong side?
I’d use pocket doors for the bedrooms to utilize more wall space
Pocket doors are preferable in a home like this because they are space-savers and still provide plenty of privacy, especially if thicker solid wood doors are used.
Love this home. It is so sweet and cozy. It would be an expensive build though with all those angles.
In a home built with similar materials, say L or rectangle or square as strong or stronger than this shape of home? Anyone know?

I would put the kitchen in the middle and the master bdrm closet would be the pantry and the pantry the closet. The living room area would be where the kitchen is. Home is where the hearth is.

Great on the outside, terrible on the inside. When I saw the house from the outside, I really liked it and imagined what it might look like. It shocked me. The inside doesn't match the outside appearance.
How does the inside not match the outside?? I'm just curious how you mean that.
Everyone's taste is different, you haven't hit mine. I would design it differently inside. Brighter, friendlier, more modern. You can't please everyone. The exterior and exterior view of the house are excellent.
Doorways are far toooooo narrow - doubt you could get a wheelchair through them. Too much interior wood, finishes are outdated…..lighten it up and use a glass/atrium roof and covered patios, then the house becomes much more marketable.
Jaw drops to the floor . . . . simply amazing. I want to live in it right now!

Вот любите вы сложные архитектурные формы! Смотрю ваши проекты, потому что интересны ваши планировочные решения. Этот дом невероятный. Прихожая- столовая- кухня по-моему великолепны. Очень красивое решение. Кухня заслуживает отдельной похвалы. Уверена, мне бы в ней понравилось готовить.
Видимо, авторы данного проекта в первую очередь руководствовались желанием добиться архитектурной выразительности, произвести внешний эффект, а не соображениями практичности.
@@vladislavandreev7257 если учесть специфику американских домов ( отсутствие тамбура и отдельной котельной), то практичность в этом доме есть. Мне не нравится вход в спальню сразу из зала, но в этом проекте спокойно выделяется дополнительнй коридор (просто уменьшается мастер-санузел и копируется коридор перед детскими) и получается желаемая приватность. В доме есть шарм и уют. Так что не считаю, что архитектора можно упрекнуть в непрактичности.
