Great hunt. Absolutely thx for your service
I went rabbit hunting in SoCal’s Cleveland National Forest before I got deployed in 2020. Good to see others are, too.
Good hunt you guys I sure do miss doing this with my dad and all the memories it bring up! Awesome dogs!
Video to short longer segment on rabbit hunt lol love it thank you❤❤
Coxs Creek in Nelson County was settled by my ancestors. I have several Maryland to Kentucky pioneer ancestors buried in that place.
My friends were ragging me for bringing my Dachshund on a rabbit hunt & not being able to recite her heritage back 10 generations.
They were surprised that she caught a rabbit & killed it before anyone could aim for it.
The dogs were looking at us like they were saying"How come she gets to kill the rabbits? We get in trouble for doing that!"
Motor oil on the mag tube will fix all cycles
so do you pick out all the pellets? I kinda thought you'd use a .22 for rabbits
You can really reduce bbs in meat by using certain gauge, choke, shot size, and shot placement. Easier to hit them with a shotgun (especially in brush) and less concern about stray projectiles with dogs running behind the rabbits.
Still I’m always tempted to try a .22 with rabbits for the reason you mentioned. I think it would work well with slow dogs where the rabbit can take its time and in relatively open cover with ample shot opportunities.
I will say that picking out BBs is inevitable with a shotgun no matter what you do. Chew gently!
