Double action revolver, the ultimate in ‘point and click’ technology. No on/off switch to be plugged in, turned on and warmed up. One hand ‘failure to fire’ fix. Can’t remember the last time I had a stovepipe or double feed in one.
I don't hunt with a handgun, but I do carry a revolver on my side when I hunt, loaded with .45 Colt shot shells for the occasional rattlesnake encounter. Have to use a revolver because automatic handguns won't cycle shot shells.
And thank you for including the .357. So many other channels disregard .357 as just above .38. They forget it was most powerful handgun in the world for what, 15, 20, 30 years? Guys were hunting everything with them back in the day.
I had a Super Redhawk in 44mag. Sold it and bought my Smith n Wesson performance center in 44mag. I wouldn't trade it for 2 rugers, not to nock them it's just that I shoot the Smith much better.
Mr. Jerry, Excellent episode! Lots of info, and Wisdom in just a few minutes! Sure like to try some of those at the range! Almost at the big 70 myself, but I'd like to try those light weight N frames! Just keep the Really heavy loads for serious purposes. God Bless, Thanks for sharing, Pray health, Salvation and Long Life over you and your family, gg🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🤠☝️☝️☝️😊
I have two X-frame revolvers a 460V with a five inch full lug muzzle brake equipped barrel and a 500 with a 6.5 inch ported semi-lug barrel that is no longer made by Smith and Wesson.
Although I really like S&W’s revolvers for their build quality, excellent triggers and accuracy (particularly fond of the 460 X frame), they don’t quite have the sage rat accuracy of my old Contender. Kinda wish S&W could have continued them, but I’d guess there’s a limited market for single shots- even ones that can be made to shoot 1 moa.
I've got one of Jim Clark's Model 58 41 Magnums in my collection. The action is slick, maybe a bit too slick since I get occasional misfires, but I bought it mainly as a safe queen in memory of a fine shooter, gunsmith, and patriot.
Awesome video I just purchased a s&w 460 magnum 3.5 inch barrel for bear defense in Montana could you do a video on the internal lock this is my first s&w I've always owned ruger revolvers alot on the internet about it and I'm kinda concerned if it would automatically lock in a bad situation
❤❤Hi Jerry ,Do you think you could make a video on all the different frames that have been made ,,id really like to understand the difference between an H frame and J frame and a X frame as i wouldn't know the Difference ! ?? PLEASE !!
I was about to type about the ol 200gr flex tip cabbage assassin and my man comes through in the clutch pullin it straight outta the bag…big hornady fan and I have some wicked loads for .308..233..and 6.5prc
Mr. Jerry have you/ would you demo a 41 mag? I have a model 57 and 58 , got them in late 70's dearly 80's absolutely love both. I worked up a lo ad with Unique and 210 gr swc that makes them a pleasure to shoot ( about 900 fps.
Would love to hear more about your "shooting glasses". I'm getting up there in years and eyes aren't what they used to be. How do your shooting glasses differ from just your regular prescription glasses?
"Houston, ISS. Space debris report, over." "ISS, Houston, go ahead, over." "Houston, detected high speed grits, appears to originate from somewhere in Louisiana, over." "Roger, ISS, NORAD reports a high speed radar contact as well, over." "Roger, Houston. Hmmm, you reckon Jerry's been shooting his .460 again, over?" "That's affirmative, ISS. Just got confirmation from the geologists, over."
My dad has a 629-3. I could shoot it off a bench with three shots touching at 50 yards. And how that gun made it out of the factory without a DX stamp on it. I have no idea.
Like you Jerry, I am 70 and love revolvers. I have "several," but not as cool as your collection. I do have a DX and it is very accurate (only my 625 JM comes close). Can you identify the kydex holster for us? Hard to find those for revolvers. Thanks and keep up the videos.
My favorite "backup" hunting/fishing gun is my old S&W Night Guard snubby in .44 mag. Weighs like 11 or 12oz so I can carry it all say without issue. It does recoils like a Som B!thc, snappy as can be with full power loads. Figure if the bear wants more than my salmon, he'll be inside 15 yards. Thank goodness Underwood has the Xtreme Hunter in 160gr it's much more comfortable to shoot. than the heave cast bullets.
Great to see you put out another great video. God bless Mr Miculek.
They must be the strongest shelves in the world!!! 🤣🤣🤣
All those boxes are probably empty I dont think ammo last long in that family
Guy needs industrial warehouse shelving for all that metal on those shelves
I'm telling you!😂😂😂❤
Great video! I love the demonstrations. Thanks Jerry. Have a great day! 🙏🏼
I've had a 460 for years. Love that gun; one of my favorites! I have the 8" barrel, which I think is the prettiest model. Very accurate.
Love my 460, it's a FNX
It is good to see you are still alive and kicking. Please post more often.
You ARE the man.Smith fan.Jerry Miculek fan. Thanks for the video.
Very nice revolvers. One of these days I'm going to buy a double action revolver.🙂
You should wait until all the kinks have been worked out of the da revolvers 😂
Maybe one of those Diamondback Sidekicks to ease you into things lol.

My age, too. It's great being young.

Jerry, you are my shooting hero ! Finally got my 500 and Model 29 ... absolute beasts. Bless you Sir
Yes indeed. Jerry is here, thanks for the video. He and I are both old guys now :)

Beautiful selection of Revolvers
Good advice at the end of the video. Practice the way you plan to hunt.
Hey congratulations on all your awards and great great shooting you got some beautiful guns and a beautiful daughter thanks for sharing them
Jerry is the GOAT. Thank you for the tips, the round comparisons, and the education.
And thank you for including the .357. So many other channels disregard .357 as just above .38. They forget it was most powerful handgun in the world for what, 15, 20, 30 years? Guys were hunting everything with them back in the day.
Hate to be the Ruger guy at a S&W party, but Super Redhawk all day.
I had a Super Redhawk in 44mag.
Sold it and bought my Smith n Wesson performance center in 44mag.
I wouldn't trade it for 2 rugers, not to nock them it's just that I shoot the Smith much better.
Same here but a Super Blackhawk single action 44 Rem Mag. That trigger is sweet!
I love my model 57 41magnum, great to see you Jerry!! I carried a 66 nice weapon.
70 years old and still the master of revolvers 👍🏻
Love those hi-viz sights.
Thanks, Jerry. I learned a lot based on your shooting today.
Jerry would use a shot timer when shooting a perp😂
Great to see a new video Jerry!!

Enjoyed the video.
Great video!! Jerry you are a Rock Star!!!!
I have to also share that it's nice to see you publish a video again.
Just the video I've been needing, thanks a lot Jerry 🎩

Somebody help Jerry with audio, please! Otherwise, priceless as usual. Go2A!
Great education, excellent video. Thanks
I apparently shot too many .357 loads in my 1970's M-66 and it caused "Flame Cutting" on the top strap above the front the the cylinder.
Franca- SP Brazil..." Jerry the legend!" .
All that ammo, gosh dang am I jealous!
Great video as always, Jerry. Dang! Now I want some hominy.
Yehaa a Jerry video! Have the same old age eyes. 70 thanks Jerry you are the GOAT
Well done Jerry.
The 460 magnum is a super beast....especially reloads with 200 ftx..
Great to see you again Jerry! Hope you are doing well.
Thx so very much. Jerry.
Great vid Sir.

Great video! 👍
I’ll stick with a TC especially as they are making a comeback if looking for a primary, revolver as a backup.
Jerry Miculek always bringing the COOL.
Great video, thank you.
Looks like you forgot about the venerable Model 57, in .41 Rem. Mag., also an Elmer Keith step child!
I really would like Smith & Wesson to upload experiments that show how hot a load a S&W 329PD can handle without crimp jumping!

The X frames look like J frames in Jerry's mitts...
You would not have to worry about a charging bear❤😂
Mr. Jerry, talk smith in to producing a model 66 with a 6 inch barrel! Great video!
Hi sir ,
I really enjoy your videos

My S&W 625 model 1988 .45 ACP modified to fire 45 Winchester Magnum was known to kill deer by the previous owner.
Love my Super Redhawk .480 it’s a hunting Beast
Mr. Miculek, I am sure that you could make a good shot while sleeping, blindfolded and handcuffed. But good info for the rest of us
At 70 he is like a kid in a candy store. Cheers
The problem with a light weight big bore pistol is they are harder to control and keep on target.

Yes, old man.
I saw someone have an early Smith 500 frame break while firing! Scary?😂

Still waiting on a 460...
waiting on rossi's new $300 single shot break action... but may just try with my revolver.
I'd like to know more about your shooting correction lens.
My new Smith 686 broke first time i fired it. So much for quality these days. Also a FN high Power failed on the first outing, no lie!
