Hey, can you guys get anything with a Td5 engine in over in the states?
@@rosscoupland5833 I think they can only import defenders over 25 years old into the states, dont think TD5 is quite there yet.
The paint job is fantastic but the dashboard is other worldly wow it will be the making of the build.

love your work mate and your enthusiasm! please wear PPE though! - i dont know what your future expansion plans are but you would greatly benefit with some hard standing areas to reduce dust/mud and perhaps also an outdoor tent/rub shelter to give you a space to work protected from the elements
Great job. Just a joy to watch your videos. If you clean and degrease the wheel arches you can spray some sound deadening rubber stuff on it. That's superb. I did it on my Defender. Looking forward to the next episode of Juice Motors...

Can't believe anybody wants to sound deaden their Defender; tinnitus is a right of passage for owners surely! Deliberately loud so they don't have to talk to anybody!
Noico! That’s what I use too! Good stuff...makes a huge difference especially with the closed cell foam layer on top.

Can you cover off how you treated the aluminium corrosion in a bit more detail ? my capping is in a similar state!
cannot WAIT for the dash & canvas top to be fitted to the blue 110, amazing.
capping is steel
The cappings are made of steel so these are ground back to bare metal, etch primed, filled where appropriate, and covered in high build prior to paint. 👍🏻

Really nice work restoring and improving that Defender. The sound proofing take a while, but improves the quality of life significantly. The new dash for the Blue Defender looks amazing. Zouäll have to decide whether the brown leather steering wheel or. Wooden/Stainless Mota-Lita might really finish it off

Sill corrosion at the front of the tub caused by the steel wing stays, bin them asap and fit aluminium ones, so you have aluminium to aluminium contact 👍

Probably the worst conditions to paint in, in the world ! :) Lol, Outdoors, in a breeze, on a dirt track yard, on a farm so lots of insects. How much trash ended up visible in the clear coat? Eitherway looks to be a good job given the conditions.

Yeah thanks to you I have now two Defenders, a 90 (2.4) and a 110 (2.2)
I'm currently soundproofing mine at the moment (Pretty much the same as this one!). I just wanted to know if you recommend taking off the dash and putting soundproofing behind it as I'm still getting a lot of engine noise.

It’s Noico! It won’t budge even when wet, it’s aluminium backed with a bitumen gum

What is the trade name of the sound deadening material that you have used? The difference in your voice before and after the sound deadening is extraordinary.

Nice work! Not to be a 'know-it-all', but that sound deadening needs to be rolled a lot more. All of those little diamonds should disappear and have a smooth, flat appearance.

Loved the Dash! I have redone my 110 seats from exmoor trim in diamond stitch... who did the dash.. ?.. meantime that 90 is coming along nicely!

Is sound deadening heavy please? I've thought about doing the Suzuki Jimny I have. It is my daily driver and speaker upgrades are happening (weather permitting) and this is the next step. Is it worth it?

I’ve used both and I prefer the look of this Noico product, I can’t personally tell the difference to its sound deadening... if anything this is better as it isn’t precut. I can get into all the nooks!

Hey juice, what would be the cost of a landrover defender build from the chassis up after it's been galv dipped. With everything new apart from the chassis, engine,body and running train.
Probably best to send over an email to discuss requirements, as you can imagine each build is totally different from the last so hard to judge without extensive details

Tell your painter that if he wants to grow old and prosperous he should always wear a mask. i didn't and I am paying for it big time with lung disease.
I am planning to paint my defender myself. I painted little things before like mopeds and stuff but never did a car. Are there things to watch
out for?
I suppose corrosion etc, prep is key!

I'm in the process of painting my 90. at what moment did he apply the lacquer, Straight after the colour or wait for it to dry

Whats the actual name of the color? absent green?!
Why would the colour be off when he did a blend? The paint on the 1/4 panel at the front should just be the original with a coat of clear over so should match the door, that's the idea of a blend.

can't see why he rubbed it down to the door opening but masked it up 8" in, there was plenty of natural breaks to mask to.

If you're worried about touching something with dirty hands, it should not be in a Land Rover
He did not mask that up properly at all, the rest of the car is gonna have a rough feeling from overspray
