Hey guys just to note, this video isn’t a paid for promotion or sponsorship, LOF Clutches kindly provided us with everything we needed to get the TD5 sorted! Thank you all for watching!! Remember to hit that SUBCRIBE button and smash that LIKE button! 💛
I dislike shirt shifters in the R380 gearbox, I’ve never felt that that make any improvements, it just feels notchy to me.... I’m happy with the LR shifter 😁
@Abel Harbour cheers, need to find a reliable source of information, right now I'm doing a full body off rebuild, it's a 97 2.8i so it can be considered one of the best defenders. I'm pretty sure it's the only one in NZ Cheers for your help.
This is an incredible transformation. Loved watching its rejuvenation, I could only dream of doing something like this project. Great work - love to see what it looks like in the mud!
I’ve not had my 110 TD5 for long and considered fitting a LOF helper spring for a couple weeks. It came through the post today and went straight out to fit it. Firstly, no wonder the pedal was so heavy, no spring fitted!!! Secondly, yes they’re a pain to fit but once you figure it out it’s not that bad, only mild language used to get it on. Thirdly and finally, what a joy it is to hold the clutch down at a junction! Great video again, really enjoying this series!
Ah great timing, thanks for showing me how to do this, I am doing the same job this weekend with an LOF clutch. I wasn't sure what was supposed to be lubed up, your video makes it clear - a thousand thank-yous!
Always love your videos and it’s inspired me to follow my dreams of working engines and trucks, thank you for the great Land Rover content and I hope your channel keeps growing
Great videos! Can you do a automatic conversion on a Defender, so we can see whats needed, and how they go together. Cannot find a good video of this on RUclips.
Really enjoyed the video, thanks. I fitted the clutch pedal spring from LOF which makes a huge difference. Tricky to fit (appreciate your honesty!) but well worth it. Grab a drink - great advice!
love the videos, could you do one on what to look out for when buying a defender and how much a galvanised conversion costs and how hard is it thanks. Keep the awesome videos coming
Love the channel. 6ft 5 in a td5 pickup so Just fitted the L.O.F spring ( eventually) and their power slave cylinder and its made the world of difference. Always look forward to the next episode. 👌
LOF are great company to deal with and great products. I have one of those green springs but its still sitting waiting to be fitted as I've been put off by the horror stories of fitting it. The cable tie option seams to be the preferred method and wind the clutch limiting bolt on the back of the peddle in to give a bit more wiggle room or so I have been told. I was looking forward to seeing any extra tips on your video, but I already know the swearing at it helps.
I thought I really love my Defender(s), but your channel just makes me love them even more. I would really like to see what you can or would do to a Defender 2012+ with Puma engine.
I fitted the LOF spring with the LOF slave cyl to my TD5 110 and it just pinned the pedal down to the floor so had to change the spring back to standard.
Applying a little grease before sticking it in the hole always makes the job easier. My days of driveway mechanics are over, but man a lift would of made much of what I did to cars much easier. Great video as always and that winch is cool as
Big big dream to do this build myself!have loved these cars since I was about 3 yr old.from my first time driving a car.wish I could find one.keep up the great work. Pssst..... any word on the street of any being sold?lol!!!! Thank you again amazing videos and love watching as per usual.
Hi Sam, another great video of my dream spec Landie. Wish I’d had that clutch pedal spring in my old works 110. One very lucky owner - very jealous. Would be interested to know the overall expenditure on this build once it’s done.
Hi guys, I'm really enjoing this series on the Landrover, it has always been one of my 'dream' vehicles to own, but at the moment I have to settle with my Mazda 6, take care and keep safe in these crazy times, and you now have another subscrber.
I’m new to your channel, and I’m impressed with your mechanical knowledge and experience while being a pretty young guy. Could you do a short video on your training and qualifications? How did you get to know so much about LRs?
Hi guys, love your videos, the expertise and your enthousiasm.. Unfortunately, living in Belgium, a lot of the mods like engine swaps and air suspension would never pass technical inspection here. Anything that isn't original spec as it came out of the factory isn't allowed here.. very sad, I know.. Anyway, keep up the good work, and pet your dog for me. Greetings from belgian fan.
Dude, you are epic Defender expert. I am so impressed with your presentation as well as your modesty. I am in the middle of a similar COMPLETE restoration of a 1998 TD5 90 (that was originally green ;) My baby looks a LOT like yours. She is done however in semigloss military green and semigloss black. I also used Empire Tuning to give me a Stage 2 remap. They seem to be really good to deal with. I am in Canada so I sent my NNN ECU to them. However, I made mistake to use my Nano-Com to "learn" my "security system" and messed up the code. Gotta send it back to UK. I live in Canada :) I am hoping to put it all together before Xmas. I am hoping to get a fireworks gig in Liverpool this year. If that happens, I am tracking you down! I have so many questions ;) Pls keep up the good work!!
I have a question? Which machine is installed on the Defender 90, which is a Patrol, the gear is automatic, and is the Dashboard Range Sport installed on it?
Hi Sam - I’m interested in modifying my own defender but I have been looking into it and the insurance sky rockets when I tell them it’s modified, do you have this issue too?
Can I ask just out of curiosity, why didn't you fit the LOF big brake system ? I've just changed my 16 wheels to 18 so I can fit big brakes. Can't wait. Great job by the way.
Hi Sam do you have a full time camera man now as well? 🤣. Another vote for Lof Clutches Luke is a great guy and really helpful. Ive fitted the uprated one to my 2.4 Puma but havent had chance to test it yet due to it turning into a full rebuild project 🤣 This 90 is looking awesome! Cant wait for the full reveal!
Just put a lof powerspec clutch in my 300tdi disco as the big old 35s took their toll on stock one. They are awesome clutches and a worthy sponsor 👍🏻 Slapped in a new Ashcroft r380 at the same time, all on my own with car on its wheels, thank heavens for the large wheels and 4" lift😂 so was rather jealous to see two people with a lift😜 Would always recommend after fitting main rear seal slapping in only flywheel and letting engine run for 5 mins to check for leaking as so easy to damage it in install, and finding out after retiring gearbox etc is heart breaking. Great video as ever, just shame it wasn't sooner do I could have used that code hahaha, if you can get Ashcroft to sponsor you I want to fit a center LSD so could do with a code for them next😜😜
Hi Sam, the Deafener has gone through massive change from the smokers paradise you first wheeled in. Did you suggest in an earlier episode that you were going to underseal the chassis? I've booked ours in for the Dinatrol treatment early in the new year and was wondering what your thoughts were!?
Juice you are such an awsome men.....this videos are very helpful and i would like to see similar builds with old 200tdi defenders......I have a 1991 defender 90 with 200tdi engine and i have problems with clutch and after this video iam thinking about to install lof clutch kit.....Do you think this is gonna make a big change to comfort to road ?Sorry for my English and Thank you so much!!!!
Very nice job but one thing here in uk why you don’t wash the chassis before start to all this work will make a lot easier and I notícias not easy to find chassis wash in uk
Not sure if bullbars are legal in England as they are in Australia, both my Defender TD5 are fitted with them plus side bars. That vechile which is a credit to you would look so good with a bull bar.
Gotta wonder why Defender TDCi’s destroy pressure plates well before friction plates wear out or rattle the slave cylinders to leaking point, maybe due to the solid mass flywheel.
I fitted the Lofspring to the clutch, but then the car became danger to drive, the clutch pedal get stucked in the floor sometimes, so I took it away. I dont think the clutch is so hard with orginal spring...
Great video as usual. Wait😳😳 did I miss an episode, I didn't watch one when you installed a snorkel 🤔🤔. Kindly provide a link to where you bought the headlights, they look great.
Dual mass fly wheels are meant to move that much, it’s a surprising amount even from a brand new one, it’s roughly about an inch and a half of rotational movement, also vans and most modern day diesels all have dmf fitted from factory, basically anything with any sort of high ish torque
Juice Motors - Hey thanks for the quick reply - I just checked back on an older vid and you did say so same tyres - I’m getting a wobble at 40mph - 45mph though so am fitting a drop arm conversion and sumo bars......love your videos please keep em coming !
Hey guys just to note, this video isn’t a paid for promotion or sponsorship, LOF Clutches kindly provided us with everything we needed to get the TD5 sorted! Thank you all for watching!! Remember to hit that SUBCRIBE button and smash that LIKE button! 💛

Does the defender 2.8i have the same flywheel or do I need to find a BMW one?
@Abel Harbour cheers, need to find a reliable source of information, right now I'm doing a full body off rebuild, it's a 97 2.8i so it can be considered one of the best defenders. I'm pretty sure it's the only one in NZ
Cheers for your help.
I'm curious as to why you're using a steel cable on the winch with roller fairlead rather than winch rope and just an alloy fairlead?
great work lads. you would definitely not want to to that transmission clutch job solo.
We just fitted the same kit to my Td5 90 as well. LOF are the best in the business 💪
Heya Liam...
Bruh
@@longtraxx3555 Hi! 😃
Recently discovered Juice Motors RUclips channel and think i'm now addicted. Loving your work !
Thank you Mark, welcome aboard!
the best Land Rover restoration and reimagination I've seen
Just started with a def 90 from 1999. Nice videos and a lot of instructions. A lot of thanks from Belgium.
This is an incredible transformation. Loved watching its rejuvenation, I could only dream of doing something like this project. Great work - love to see what it looks like in the mud!

LOF spring fitting tip - use a couple of zip ties to compress before attempting fitting and cut them out when it is in!
I could stay watching these videos all day great work
Always love your videos and it’s inspired me to follow my dreams of working engines and trucks, thank you for the great Land Rover content and I hope your channel keeps growing
Thank you Giuseppe! Good luck & thankyou for the support! 💛

Good to see it all coming together for you
Loving this series! Big fan of a Defender since my RE days 👍
Just started watching your series yesterday and love the level of detail. Wish there were more Defenders to repair in the US!

Another great piece of work Sam. Thank you for sharing.
I just love the olde defender shape
Looking great - nearly there 😬😬😬. Love this defender 😍. Great video as always - even had time for a “tidy up”! 👌
Brilliant channel best defender channel out there enjoyed every minute well done guys 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great videos! Can you do a automatic conversion on a Defender, so we can see whats needed, and how they go together. Cannot find a good video of this on RUclips.
Another awesome video. Order placed for the clutch spring straight away!
Hey, do you know of any spectre style arches that are more flexible? Took my 110 greenlaining and destroyed all of them :(
Really enjoyed the video, thanks. I fitted the clutch pedal spring from LOF which makes a huge difference. Tricky to fit (appreciate your honesty!) but well worth it. Grab a drink - great advice!
Thanks Gareth!! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the support 🥰
love the videos, could you do one on what to look out for when buying a defender and how much a galvanised conversion costs and how hard is it thanks. Keep the awesome videos coming
As usual another great video. The only channel that I wanna watch video for more than 30min 👍
Great video! Crazy to think this is the same vehicle that had forks busting through the rusted out bumper
My weekend is complete, another class act Lovin the content keep it coming. Cheers
Love the channel. 6ft 5 in a td5 pickup so Just fitted the L.O.F spring ( eventually) and their power slave cylinder and its made the world of difference. Always look forward to the next episode. 👌

Love it...amazing...exactly the clutch we are planning on. That winch looks much better 🔥

Amazing job. Looks a beast. Welcome to the team Leon. Glad business is going well for you.
Hi guys, I'm really enjoing this series on the Landrover, it has always been one of my 'dream' vehicles to own, but at the moment I have to settle with my Mazda 6, take care and keep safe in these crazy times, and you now have another subscrber.
Nothing wrong with a trusty steed! I’ve had a lifetimes worth of bangers, a Mazda 6 isn’t bad at all! Thank you for your support! 💛
The end is in sight boys !!! keep up the great work 👊👌
I’m new to your channel, and I’m impressed with your mechanical knowledge and experience while being a pretty young guy. Could you do a short video on your training and qualifications? How did you get to know so much about LRs?

Loving the videos in Valparaiso, Indiana, USA!
You do amazing and beautiful work.
Dan Glavach thankyou!! 💛💛
Awesome episode 👍
Great video! Best regards from me and my Defender in Norway😊
great truck, but can't believe you did the beautifying before the mucky bits, is it a customer truck or are upgrading and selling on?
Very enjoyable, thanks

This guys a legend
What wheels are them and where did you get them? It looks mint!

I would love to see how one fits that clutch assist spring. Would it fit a 1987 county.(i live in australia).
Great video as usual. Wait😳😳 did I miss an episode, I didn't watch one when you installed a snorkel 🤔🤔. Kindly provide a link to where you bought the headlights, they look great.

Dear, are you in the UK?
Imagine just doing this by hand. !! Err No . Cracked me up 👍
This is like the British LR version of Goonzsquads channel with all the music and timelapse 🎵🎶
new to your channel ,watched all your videos so upto date ,your channel is great carnt wait for next video
I just changed my clutch n pressure plate recently... If I knew earlier I would have went the LOF clutch way...
Great work keep it up!
Thank you Iwan!
Did you not need to ream the spigot bearing in the end?
Not at all, I always check that they slide freely over the input shaft first. Ream if required
Hi great videos. In the last episode, what paint mix did you use for the gloss grill and light surround? Did you have clear lacquer in there?
2k gloss black, no lacquer! Eaaassyyyyy
Juice Motors nice. Thank you!
Whoever designed the Dual Mass Flywheel needs to hang their head in shame.. I wonder if the same guy invented the EGR system??
Wow, the clutch fit definatly isn't a DIY. Been following from episode 1, thanks alot Sam/Juice Motors
I’m doing the same jobs to my 90 at the mo - I’ve fitted 35” Renegades but those tyres on yours look better - what size are they ?
315/75/16s on a BFG KM3
Juice Motors - Hey thanks for the quick reply - I just checked back on an older vid and you did say so same tyres - I’m getting a wobble at 40mph - 45mph though so am fitting a drop arm conversion and sumo bars......love your videos please keep em coming !
Why didn’t you show how you removed the pilot bushing?
If I may ask, where did you get that light bar?
And those two lights on the back
