Great job guys, it’s fantastic that you take us along for the ride, so that we can all experience the entire process. It would be amazing to include the bulkhead prep and painting process, assuming the Bodyshop are willing to let you film. Can’t wait to see the next update. Keep up the great work. 😎👍
Thinking of a chassis swap on my DCPU. Potentially a M57 swap as well. DCPU is RND but has now been imported to France where I live full time. If I did chassis and M57, would this make it an ‘easy’ (I appreciate nothing is easy on a Def) and logical moment to swap from RHD to LHD? This would be on a Puma…..just wondering?
any chance we are going to see a om606 conversion any time soon as debating the om606 or m57 conversion to replace my 2.2 tdci and want to hear your opinion
I thought this was gonna be the start of big reds build!!!!! Why has it fell off the face of the earth! Don’t get me wrong I love all of your vids, (mainly the older proper LRs) but where is the PROPER big red??? ❤
Interested to know, are you painting the chassis? What's the best way to prepare and paint the chassis? Or how will you prepare the chassis? Is the bulkhead galvanised too? Having trouble finding the best way to prep galvanised metal for paint. Etch primer seems to be the way but does it just need soapy water clean or should it be sanded and prepped as normal for bodywork? I have galvanised my chassis and bulkhead out here in uae and this is unusual if not unheard of here, bodyshops seem to want to prep by sanding and likely removing most of the galvanising. All help and advice gladly received. Loving the videos, keeps me entertained while my newborn sleeps 🤣🤣🤣
Well… I’m sure I said it before but I say it AGAIN… This is essentially a Free Course in Car engineering… 👍 Looking forward for part two/three … 👋 … Funny thing … When you said ACTION … here in Germany U-Tube did cut in a commercial 😂
Love the videos followed from day 1.. I Work on defenders everyday building from the ground up. Come home have a steak pie and watch you guys.. am I living the dream or dreaming the life?..
Might just be me but I'd never hand my motor into a garage covered in that much muck - doesn't take much to give it a quick wash first, basic politeness.
Easy to look sharp when you haven’t done any work! - We give the vehicles a clean before handover, but we’re a very very busy shop, sometimes a shop gets dirty and cars need to get finished! Not how I’d love to represent the business sometimes but needs must! Hope you enjoyed the content!

Have you guys considered putting an old defender body on a new defender? Is it possible?
The one for me would definitely be your blue Juice pick up. 👌👌👌
That’s a pleasure to watch! Could watch it all day
how many man hours total?
This is my godmothers car!!!
How do you go about with a new chassis and why can’t you sell the old 1
Old one destroyed and new one stamped with old numbers.
Would love to get an idea of cost for this big job - looking at something similar for my TD5 90.
Depends what everything else is like. We average 12k but only do full running gear restoration chassis changes.
Since I have a new chassis and bulkhead sitting on my patio, this is interesting
Same here 👍
Same here too 😂
What’s the cost of a chassis swap lads? I have a 110 and the chassis is a little worse for wear

How long did it take to do

I love the OM606 - but they’re getting rare now; be hard to maintain going forward as parts supply dwindles ☹️
Did you mean to show the chassis and registration number on the job sheet?
Fantastic. You guys seem to be growing and growing as the months pass. Keep up the good work and in-depth vids. 👏

Thinking the same!!
What’s Happened to Big Red?
What happened to the 300tdi series?
It’s all finished - we’re in the testing phase 👍🏻
Hello, I was wondering what the price tag for a topical swap like that might be?
I need to replace the chassis on my TD5 and a few other body parts.
Cost about £2600 for my chassis and then garage fees of ? My cost was £4000 with new suspension and break pipes etc.
Juices price is like £12k Inc vat, most companies charge £4-5k
Might as well swap bulkhead. It’s like you go and get one in poundshop. 😂

You need to t wash galvanised steel first before you apply any type of paint.
You've done this kind of work before, I remember!
Sam, what about the Red Defender, which is yours, will he be working with him?
Hello guys!
Did you haze the new guy by giving him that haircut? Just kidding, welcome to the Team!
Well…
