I was wondering if you possibly had 2 soundcards...and the wrong one was chosen??? Glad you got it working. I think the Alsa Mixer probably crashes, because it's calling for it to be opened with xterm...but xterm isn't installed. You should be able to run alsamixer in the terminal that is provided...if needed in the future. ;) I'm going to send you another email in a bit.
Sorry, but I gave bad advice. I have a different version installed, and xterm isn't installed on it. The creator of the MiyoXM .iso said that xterm is installed on MiyoXM, but he edited the desktop file so that it would open in Sakura. I sent you another email.
@@The_Amnesiac_Philosopher No just the one soundcard on that old Tosh laptop matey. I think you're right WRT Xterm as well for the alsamixer shortcut, that would explain the app crash. I did however try to run alsamixer from the default terminal and had the same result. I also tried to install alsamixer from the terminal and there was nothing found in the repos which I thought a bit odd. As much as many folk dislike pulseaudio I do find installing it solves a lot of niggles (at least for a regular user like me) - I know it's a lower fidelity audio system than pure alsa, but for the needs of most folk it's fine. I will however stick around on this install for the time being as it's sweet now :) So glad that you're back in the saddle matey :)
An elegant solution for the apparent abandonment of openbox. Been noticing some glitches in my "box buntu" - this xfwm approach should have better future proofing. 👍
I quite liked the old #Crunchbang back in the day. I've finally ditched Windows, i only used it for my DAW and playing teiple A games, but now I've quit gaming and bought my first ever brand new Mac with an M2 chip, so i can run FL Studio on that and day to day computing on my Fedora laptop. Microsoft can F*** Off.
Amen to that closing remark matey. I have a couple of macbook airs which I take out and about with me because they are very sturdy and at eight years old still have double the battery life of modern pc laptops. I don't game much myself either these days, I need to focus more on my own creativity now I think. Life's too short.

Thankfully Dan has cleared up the mystery of the disappearing comments! On a side note, on the 7th we lost our good old lurcher, Gypsy. Over the last couple of months she just wasn't in best fettle. She wasn't eating the best food we prepared, very lethargic, and super needy.she lost 2kg in about ten days. Spent £850 at vets in last couple of weeks and £300+ was the dues for the final event, so to speak. That's our canine family over. I'm 68, better half a couple of years younger, but apart from being too expensive these days, a new hound would likely outlive us and become someone else' burden....
As mentioned in the video I got sent a link to the development iso Jim, but if the originator wants to share it he is free to do so in comments here. This isn't a 'final' image from what I gather - it may not even be designed for the masses at all so I leave it to the dev to share the iso. If I were to do it they wouldn't be too impressed I'd imagine. HTH matey
If I hear of one that piques my interest you can be sure that I will. However, after sixteen years of distro-hopping from one to another I'm less than keen to commit my machines to the wild and woolly random one-man-band distros that appear every now and then from complete strangers. Anything MIYO however, especially when passed to me by the originator of that fine distro generally comes with a degree of certainty that it will not bork my system. I'll still be looking out though and if it's good you may well see it here ;)

XFWM ? Is it a window manager or a DE you installed. Can you do a post install walk through
It's the xfce window manager on its own, without the panel and xfce4 goodies. It's the default for the iso,
