My guess is stuck injector and a hydrolocked cylinder. Its possible this engine is still good! Pull plugs, drain fuel, replace injectors and plugs, change oil and go do a big smokey burnout! Rods don't always bend. Good luck Mike!

None of what you wrote is correct - In fact those two things aren't even related. Stuck Injector = it would miss and be rough, but otherwise fine. Hydrolocked, well, you kinda need to suck in water for that. Nope. It's either timing, or an oil problem because it won't rotate. Either way = Rebuild Time. And Yes, I got the "joke". It would be funny if he had hydrolocked two of 'em.

@@AndrewAMG_ unfortunately i do not have any pics of the revision failures(they weren't my personal cars) but I absolutely understand the skepticism as I thought the same thing prior to seeing them myself. I will say this though, they did NOT appear to fail in the same manner as the originals did(stretching at the head or head popping off), they all appeared to have backed out a little bit and then the threads on the bolt were torn away. Also, in each one it was the very rear bolts. I know the VIN break was supposed to provide salvation for the M156 but what I've seen says otherwise (at least to a small degree). But don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my M156 for all the tea in China!!!

The head gasket blew while you were driving which caused coolant to go into one or more of the cylinders. This caused the vehicle to run poorly which threw on the engine light, and smoke to come out the exhaust. When a restart was attempted, the coolant-filled cylinder seized the engine up.

That's super scary bc I owned an 2013 E63 several years ago and I had computer trouble with mine, which led to erratic shifting. Luckily it was under warranty bc it ended up costing $13k!!! If I owned it out of warranty I wouldn't have been able to afford that. I've since sold that car (I miss it everyday) but it taught me a valuable lesson, not to buy something like that if you can't afford a major repair. Not saying you can't afford the new engine, I'm just speaking about me and that whole ordeal comes to mind every time I purchase a vehicle. Helps keep me within my budget.

Same engine in my ML63. Same issue. Head gasket blown. Smoke. Engine destroyed. Coolant in my oil.

engine isn't destroyed, you just need new head gaskets. Yes its a long rebuild, but part wise its not expensive

@@jcdentonunatco could be damaged because if these two mix than lubrication is much worse during the time the engine is running with that problem

How was the oil consumption of this car? It can be a head gasket, or worse, a blown cilinder, or a hole in the cilinder

I personally think the tune is responsible...too much timing or not enough to cause incorrect air fuel mixture and bang! and yours is the PP so its good from the factory...i think tuning these will cause major issues!

Hey what did the cel code read? Cam adjusters go on these and cause very unexpected problems. FYI these high compression engines will take more than a little muscle to manually crank with the engine covers completely on….
