Great video John, I've just found some more unexpected ventilation in my Land Rover so maybe it's finally time to get a machine like this and teach myself.
Thanks great machine, that little trick with the exhaust was interesting too. I am sure you a full of those sort of things and they could be very valuable to less experienced viewers. I was unaware you could patch to something that corroded.
Well explained john, i currently have the 180 teeterin on the edge of ordering a 181 so maybe a bit of stupid question, but what setting would i use for welding 6mm plate to 3mm wall box? Example castor base plates, is this a big improvement over the 180?? Keep up the good work 👍😉
Mate of mine has one , It works well in all directions . All down to the skill set . I tried his and it feels no different to my old Newarc 190 . Cheap enough too

@@doubleboost yes, now watching R-Tech mig181 part 2
@14:18, that is certainly not bad feeding 1m/sec. Incredible, mine only does 1mm/sec. Sussex is having a laugh John
I wondered who would spot that Metres per Min lol

Nice welders for such a clonk! Good luck lad!
Hi John, are there any suggestions for gas flow rates on differing thicknesses of material/wire diameters or is it just the standard 6-8litres/min?
I run 8 LPM covers most options

Would you say the 181 is better welder to buy then the 180?
If you are new to welding .
Then yes it makes set up very easy .
They are both very good reliable machines
Seems to make great welding on the flats! How's it for welding on the other 3 position?

Depends on the operator's skill a d ability .
I can use it in any position .
Will do some out of position welding in the next video
My 180 has packed up. Not 4 years old and barely used.
Some have great success with them however I also had issues with all the plasma and tig as went through 3 in a week before I gave in.
