Epicness 😎. As a suggestion, could you do a lesson on some songs by Pixies. Debaser, Hey etc. Its hard to find good lessons on RUclips so I've just been trying to work them out by ear. Thanks.
What’s up Marty? You posted an Eagles tune yesterday and when I got a chance to watch, it said the vid was.taken down by the uploader. Isn’t that you? As a dedicated subscriber I’d like an explanation as to why. I hope you can send a reply within your busy schedule because you are a well informed Guitarist, and you Rock! Stay safe Marty, hope to read from you soon.
As long as teachers like Marty are alive and (some of) the record labels remove their heads from their rectums, Rock N' Roll still has a fighting chance. Marty, as far as I'm concerned almost everything you do is fair use. Keep fighting the good fight.
I was riding my bike to work when I got the notification for this song. Considered turning around, calling out and jamming, but then I remembered what I have in my bank account
People dont realize the musical greatness of this song on how many sounds are going on...you really gotta put your music ears on...such a well crafted song...great review
When you watch Franz play this live on RUclips it's probably the best example of just how good the two guitars sound together. Alex and Nick absolutely nailed it on this song!Great lesson Marty
No lies literally thought about learning this song yesterday and upon checking my subscription box...Boom! Marty I sincerely thank you for sharing your passion with so many people...
Ive never played a guitar but im going to learn how to play the guitar this year and this is my goal song. Such a vintage sound. I remember being a kid in the early 2000’s and loving this song. My 15 year old self is ecstatic, great teaching tutorial!
I love you, Marty! You've reignited my passion for playing (both guitar and drums) on so many levels, and I appreciate you each and every day! Keep on keeping on, my friend!
Marty, I have wrote before and you were kind enough to respond but just to say again, you are an absolute legend! Everyone song that I have learnt has been through you. Thank you for keeping me engaged all this time!!
Great video, thank you! We played a benefit gig in Glasgow with FF (then called the Karelia,) and played King Tuts Wah Wah Hut where Alex the lead singer worked on bar and as a gig asst manager...great guy and great band live...they played a different songs at that gig with both these riffs but were very different....about a year later and possibly some Jewish hymn tune influences and more teenybopper energy they morphed into FF and a very different vibe...but retained a lot of those experimentations from before...lovely Glasgow school,of art grads hahahaha...happy days!
They used to play this on AMTV when I was getting ready for school. Shame there isn’t many music videos on tv anymore, and not hardly any rock on the pop rotation.
I was going to ask you to play this song but my dreams came true, this is my favorite song thank you so much for doing it and please do more Franz Ferdinand!!!
Excellent video Marty, I loved your video I hope and make more tutorials of Franz Ferdinand ♥️ as "Michael" "do you want" or "don't satart" of this band, thank you a thousand thanks YOU MADE ME THE DAY⚡😎🎸
Such an awesome song Papa Marty I have learned a different way but put together sound almost orchestral. I appreciate the loop created to help the effect of the song and the strum pattern folded my brain a little, but that's the beauty of learning a new way to play a song already known.
Marty, if you want a very different song to do (and one I cannot figure out for some reason; the rhythm throws me off I think), try the 1960s pop rock song "Abigail Beecher" by Freddy Cannon. That's got an interesting rhythm to it and it's such a forgotten song that I would love to know how to play it.
Marty Great channel! I rock an sg early around between an early-mid 2000’s (‘03-‘05) standard model...prior to months ago ago, i quit playing def a beginner..now within 2-3 months of you’re help & just jamming to backtracks (have the same amp as you & plug an AuX cord in & put in a back tracking & just usually stick to blue-ish type playing over trackings i like from 75bmps, to about 110bpms..you tought me Good times badtimes, sunshine of you’rec love (before i couldnt play it relaxed & wasnt using cords on the low E string, but now i can play it faster than recorded with my eyes closed lol, several other songs & habits you’ve helped me with! That being said, quick question...when i started replaying my Sg, i knew strings were dead, but they were in tune & my low E would wobble (ring out when going thru scales...i got my strings changes from 10s to 9s (love the 9’s)..but the friend i had restring my guitar never saw a raised bridge pickup & thought someone messed with it (the pick ups are standard height from Gibson, Humbuckers 490 neck, 498 bridge. Since my friend only was used to his les paul & es 335, now my A string is not in constiant tenstion with the rest of my strings..it wobbles more than my low E & leaves a ringing out buzz to a small degree..but since ive been playing, like for ex, the classic layla lick, you tought me how to do it, i practiced & can play it decently fast, same with Redbone & much more..but just wondering why you’d think my sg standard now has a wobbly (ringing out) string thats in standard tune, while now my low e & all my other strings have a constantant tension, where as i can visually see the A string ring out longer than my low E or any other string (just wondering if you think it was strung wrong, or an intonation issue, or should i lower my bridge pick up from factory settings & lower the bridge...id have to go to a GC but where i am, they hang onto my axe for 2 weeks, 5 days before they touch it..who knows how long to fix, and 5 days befoee they’ll give it back (due to safety precautions). Do you think its the way it was strung up, a truss-rod issue, something with the bridge, intonation? I played the shit out of my fresh strings for 2-3 weeks..few hours a night, but i doubt the A string is dead..my tuner says its in tune?! But i just hate the inconstancy & ringing out when im messing around with solo type things or just screwing around with a soft back tracking & playing some blues with some rock balls lol, id say im a lower intermediate at this point. But gear wise, total beginner lol
Also the song Barcelona Nights by Omertto L? Not sure on the guys name but he’s great (i love Santana, europa was actually the 1st song my dad tought me befoee cords lol over a dedcade ago before i put the axe away for Highschool/college partying & bars lol), but just wondering, any change you’ll put up a vid of some music like that..for me these vids help much more than tabs! Thanks keep rockin it!
It's pretty nice to watch you play. I've always "learned by ear", but having never touched a guitar before, I was curious if the positions and strings used were the ones I thought they were. It's nice to know that my assumptions weren't too far off (I thought a section sounded like using 5 of the strings for the notes, but it turns out it's sometimes 3 and sometimes 4), and also pretty great that it's very clear what is being used by this demonstration. Much appreciated! Keep on rockin' on!
My jazz band played this just to be funny, but we only have one guitarist which is me, so one of the piano players played the left ear guitar part. It ended up sounding way better than I thought it would sound.
Thanks for supporting MartyMusic! I also have some free courses at my site www.martymusic.com
Can you teach the solo for soul sacrifice santana

I don't even play guitar, but I always watch for at least the start of the video
Thankyou 😎😎
Just in time for me to start learning haha!! Thx Marty 🎸
Without drums and bass this isn't what I expected. This song feels empty without the other instruments
Remembers me of the soundtrack of the football video game Madden NFL 2005 😊
Sounds very cinematic!😎🥴
Cracking up over here. I have been watching and following you since before we both had grey in the beard. 😆🤘🏼🎸😎
