    Just got my AWE track exhaust installed. Took about 3 hours. No lift, no Hanger tool. Just jack stands, channel locks and WD-40. Probably could've finished an hour earlier, but each pipe piece had a sticker on it that would only peel off millimeter by mm. Even with goo gone and a razor blade it took a while to get them off. First time I've done an exhaust. But mayn I had the biggest goofiest smile on my face when I heard the cold start. videos don't do it justice, u can feel more rumble. Totally happy with the purchase.

    Video made my install go smoothly. Tried it with just a socket wrench and gotta say, just use the impact gun. Exhaust sounds amazing on my 86.

    How much gap is there where the new donut gasket sits? Would love to see a picture of the finished install where the gasket meets the pipe.

    • @awetuning
      @awetuning  2 года назад +1

      There should be a gap between the flanges at the front pipe due to the donut style gasket that is used. As long as those bolts are tight the gap between those flanges is normal.

    • @ivanestrada7636
      @ivanestrada7636 Месяц назад

      If the bolts are tight should there still be movement from the donut style gasket?

    Thanks for your review and information 👍
    Can you tell us what the difference in the volume of the sound compared to the OEM ?

    • @awetuning
      @awetuning  Год назад +2

      Will be much more volume than OEM especially at startup for the first 30 seconds it is at its loudest.

    Once its installed is it ok if the donut gasket is still partially visible after the spring bolts have been tightened? It looks to me like the gasket is still partially visible, but there is no more threads to tighten down further. Lol

    • @awetuning
      @awetuning  2 месяца назад

      Yes, that is the nature of the the donut. It's very much supposed to be visible once fully tightened (if it wasn't, you'd have a problem). Proceed with confidence! 🤠

    How do you adjust for the tips? Should they go all in and cover the side cutouts? But that makes the tips way more tucked in than I prefer.

    • @awetuning
      @awetuning  Год назад

      We usally bing them out so the top edge of the logo is showing. Completely your call, though!

    • @TahsinAhmed26
      @TahsinAhmed26 Год назад

      @@awetuning If I bring the tips out to show the logo, it doesn’t seem to be secure in place. Do you recommend adjusting the mid pipe to compensate for that? Main concern for all fittings would be to completely block the side cutouts, right? I do want the tips to bring out a bit more. My current fitment isn’t allowing me to do that.

    • @awetuning
      @awetuning  Год назад

      @@TahsinAhmed26 sounds like they need to be tightened further. Use hand tools, and gradually tighten. You’ll find the threshold of where the tip will clamp tightly. Once you find that, adjust once more (you may to loosen slightly to maneuver) and then tighten all the way down once you’re satisfied with placement. Note the install guide and the diagrams showing orientation. Also note, stainless grows in length when hot, so they will protrude out a bit more after reaching operating temps. cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0240/7294/5728/files/installation_instructions_awe_Subaru_BRZ_Rev1.2.pdf

    At the front of the inlet/ front pipe is that gasket the OEM gasket or is that included with the kit, or sold separately? Just got my gr86 and this is the exhaust I ordered but I want to make sure I have everything I need.

      Simply re-use factory. 👍

    Curious to know if the heat from those huge exhaust tips will discolor the rear diffuser?

    • @awetuning
      @awetuning  Год назад

      Tips don't get as hot as you would think, they are also double walled which helps. We did not see any issues with that in testing or any reports to date.

    When tightening the spring bolts at the donut gasket, how tight? should the springs be completely compressed?

    • @awetuning
      @awetuning  Год назад

      Yes, the factory nute and bolt should be all the way tight (which is most important). The springs will be nearly fully compressed.

    What is the difference between the touring suite and just the Touring?

    • @awetuning
      @awetuning  Год назад

      One in the same. We call our offerings "suites" due to the fact that we offer more than one tip option for each system, and on some vehicles we have a variety of Touring and Track Editions.
