Tehehee this solo was my first intro to bts content… no, my first intro to KPOP in general, and then I watched mic drop… and now I’m in DEEPDEEP. Min Yoongi being my ULT OF ALL ULTS (#multistan). I screamed so loud at the permission to dance concert at the SOFYstadium, I lost my voice for a whole ass week. I regret NOTHING.

I don't usually listen to rap music, but August D hits different. With Yoongi's music, I can identify the most, because of his similar health history. Every time I hear his Mixtapes and Solo songs, I am speechless and completely stunned. He just has a certain talent to blow you away with a word or phrase. My longtime favorite songs from him are “Last” and “Interlude: Shadow”. But I can also recommend the songs “Nevermind” or “Cypher” Parts from the entire BTS Rapline.
Me too lol him and RM made me Army. I never listened to rap before them. I never understood the hype. Most rappers use drugs, s** and violence and swear words.Then they call it art. Never appealed to me untill I listened to auto tear. I cried. Such genuine emotions. Pure Art.

I'm the same. I will still honestly say I don't like rap or hip hop... But BTS is different; especially Suga/Agust D/Min Yoongi. Listening to him is just so wonderful. Agust D (by Agust D) is like coming home. I don't know why, and I don't really care. But listening to him - to all his songs and performances... just feels like home. He makes me smile and feel at peace. Content. Which is strange I know. But that's the affect he has on me. And I like it. And I thank him for that 💜💜

What I think is cool about the BTS solo songs and mixtapes on SoundCloud is that the songs are free but the company still invests in the MVs. To me, that says a lot about the company supporting their artists' creativity and/or long-term, big-picture thinking.
Fun fact! Daechwita only has one beat throughout the song, it’s Yoongi’s rapping, flow and tone change that makes it feel like every verse has a different beat. It’s his polymetric rap flows, his agogic accents, or his use of syncopation to rap in between beats that makes him such a distinguished rapper. His signature rap style of being ahead of the beat, & then slowing down or speeding up his cadence giving the ultimate tension and release with his flow is so impressive. This man can build up 16 bars just by starting ahead of the beat, move to hitting behind, refuse to resolve the bar and then start hitting non traditional notes. The power that this song holds is insane. I love how he actually spit in the song I think it's really cool. There is a live performance for "Daechwita" with all the members in it. It's really nice and funny you should check it out next. If you want more songs like this you should definitely check out "Agust D" the song is insane. In his other Agust D album there's a track called The Last he said that "Min Yoongi is dead. I killed him." But this time he killed Agust D (The King) because he doesn't need a persona, like a mask to pretend that he's a celebrity anymore, because the little poor boy that he was just growing up and made it so now Agust D, Suga and Min Yoongi are the same person. It's my version of the MV... Because sometimes celebrities lose who they really are, they're quite like acting in front of the public. Also, The one he's wearing is actually traditional clothing that only kings could wear. You see like traditionally Asians grow hair and take care of it which shows rank in society. As a 55 year old Army, I could never really get into rap. Same hateful stuff, just different words and different rappers. Namjoon, Yoongi, and Hoseok changed that for me. The talent in the way only THEY can deliver their message rapping still is magic to me. WOW

You can't say that all rap is hateful when you haven't listened to ALL rap. That's like saying all country music is depressing. There's PLENTY of rap with positive messages and are not hateful. Please keep an open mind and not stereotype.
I knew the moment I saw this reaction title, you were going to be stunned. I just started laughing and going, "Oh, bless him, he isn't ready." All of them have solo songs, but the entire rap line (RM, SUGA, and J-Hope) have solo albums. If you want to get a listen at the rest of the rap line, RM's "Joke" is an older song but also mind-blowing, and I love J-Hope's "Airplane" for its smooth vibes. But the vocal line have done a ton of solo songs as well, both on BTS albums and individual releases for free online. And you're right, the solo songs/albums alone are almost their own rabbit hole!
I just want you to remember the fact that daechwita’s beat is consistent throughout the whole song but it sounds like it changes solely based on yoongi’s rap and tone changing. Like the whole beat is moving in a line consistently but u will experience new upbeat everytime he change his flow. He is a genius producer.
Can you imagine any Western rapper rapping a diss track to traditional instruments like SUGA did here? And this is not the only track ... Ddaeng is also set to traditional Korean instruments. The video is amazing and there is also an explanation video for it as the six guys in the background, the girl who gives Rebel SUGA the car keys etc all have special meaning. You might want to check out Daechwita OT7 from the online Sowoozoo performance. Oh and Daechwita (the drums and pipes) is the equivalent of the Scottish pipes and drums for annoucing the king and also for attacking in a war. Every member has their own unique sound and voice. SUGA; RM and JHope all have released solo albums that they call mixtapes. All are rap and hip hop but very different. While SUGA and RM are straight forward hip hop, Hobi's is more a mix of rap and singing and a lot of happy vibes, just like Hobi, he is sunshine personified. The vocal line has released within BTS their solo songs but Jin and V have both released songs for kdramas (Jin 'Yours' for Kdrama Jirisan, 'It has to be you' for Hwarang - duet with Tae aka V ; Tae also did 'Sweet Night' for Itaewon Class, 'Christmas Trees' for Our Beloved Summer). Additionally Jungkook released cover songs (the latest was 'Falling' by Harry Styles) and Jimin, V and JIn also release solo songs on soundcloud on special occasions like Christmas, birthdays etc. JHope will probably release a new mixtape this year (RM might also) and ARMY is waiting for KTH1 - V's mixtape which will hopefully come out as well SOON.
Love this song. That is Jin and Jungkook fighting in the background. Lol All their solo work is so good. I love how they support each others solo stuff. You can truly tell that they have a brotherhood, and love for one another.
One of the best rappers I’ve ever heard! His technique and delivery is absolutely insane! BTS has the strongest rap line in Kpop. AgustD’s „Daechwita” and „AgustD”, RM’s „Joke” and „Do you” and J-Hope’s „Daydream” and „Airplane”… Those are masterpieces! The cherry on top would be their diss tracks, so please react to „Ddaeng” by BTS’s rap line (and the DKDKTV’s explanation video, since there are some advanced word play and annalogies, as well as cultural aspect)

yet again Yoongi left me speechless and showed me why he is my ultimate bias wrecker, also he showed me again why he is my all time number 1 favourite rapper in the entire music industry and that British and American rappers should follow his lead.also Yoongi and Jimin are the only members to have me breathless, and making me cry as well as shaking my head, im so hyped up that I so was not ready for this and even after a million times watching this Mv im still not ready and ever since listening to AustD's first mix tape I new I would never be the same also to me in my opinion (not hating on Eminem) but Yoongi is a way better rapper I just hope one day we get a collab between these 2 rappers.also on a side note us army's need a studio version of Tony Montana

The rap line of BTS are the best of the industry.... RM and Suga were underground rappers and j-hope was underground hip-hop dancer.... They really know what true hip-hop is have rapping skills and writing style of an emcee... They have done cypher pt 1-4, ddaeng, ugh! And outr:tear in BTS discography which is only consist of the rap line.....

Daechwita definitely hits hard and is an incredible music video, absolutely one of my favorites. I enjoy your surprise at this being the same guy who was in butter etc cuz when you get into BTS's discography you'll hear a wide range of songs and really understand that they go hard, they go soft and they go anywhere in between. The guys all have varying amounts of solo work outside of BTS and within BTS there are solo songs on their albums as well. They will make you cry, good luck!

This was filmed in a Korean style palace that was built in order to film Korean historical dramas. I'm sure they had to pay to rent it, but the set was already available. Seoul has several historical palaces, but they're not available for shooting music videos.
Suga/AgustD is the best! Love everything he does, he’s got so much talent it’s ridiculous! Fun fact, AgustD is the reverse of his BTS stage name SUGA and the TD comes from D-Town, his old underground hip hop group from Daegu. You definitely need to check out more of his stuff!

Did you even watch this reaction video at all? It wasn’t even BTS! This was AgustD as a solo artist. Even if you’re so narrow minded and afraid of becoming a K-pop fan that you have to hate on BTS reaction videos comments, at least know who you are talking about. If you know anything about rap, you should at least be able to appreciate what a great rapper and producer AgustD is. He is one of the all time most talented rappers out there, and him being Korean or being an IDOL doesn’t change that.

Yoongi is kpop's 3rd fastest rapper and also a wonderful song writer, Lyricist and composer ...all of them can be so successful as a soloist but together they make BTS and that's the best compliment I can give them

BTS has three amazing rappers, August D is in my opinion one of the most melodic wrappers I have ever heard, his ability to change rhythm, cadence and doing it so smoothly. He is not considered one of the best rappers because the world is westernized sadly, but well slowly but surely they are being discovered.

I read somewhere that the fact that he plays a king + the jade keychain he picks up at the beginning are a huge flex because he is a descent from the Yeoheung Min clan, which was a royal clan!

Suga as well as RM were both part of the underground rap/hiphop scene in South Korea before joining BTS (when they were just teenagers!). So they have like real genuine rap roots. Suga started writing lyrics at age 13 (and he's a great producer too, he started messing with music production at age 13 as well). RM was actually fairly well-respected in the local underground community/online forums too (he started rapping at around age 14!!). They both idolize original classic hip hop artists of the West like Nas, Tupac, Biggie, etc and listened to them a lot as teens so they built up a solid foundation from their start. Jhope is the 3rd rapper of BTS, and he learned to rap from RM and Suga (he had more of a hiphop DANCE background which I'm sure helped him rap, with his sense of rhythm and all) and developed his own style too!

Suga is my bias from BTS. I’m so happy you reacted to this! He has a lot of solo stuff out as well as the other members. A song that he did that really hits hard is a song called The Last. He expresses his struggles with depression and mental health and also raps about his struggles with being poor as a kid. He’s suffered so much and I gained so much more respect for him after listening to his story in that song. I HIGHLY recommend it
Lots of solo songs. Jungkook (with Suga as producer) just released Stay Alive - it was for the webtoon 7 Fates: Chakho. But he's also done others, such as Begin, Euphoria, My Time. V has several such as Stigma, Singularity, Inner Child, Winter Bear, Christmas Tree. Jimin has Lie, Serendipity and Filter. J-Hope released a mixtape and he's got several really good ones, including Baseline, Blue Side, Daydream and Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G). RM has two mixtapes released, as others have said, Joke is very good. I really like his second mixtape, Mono - Everything Goes, Moonchild. Suga (Agust D) has two mixtapes as well. I've literally got all of those on my playlist. The Last, self titled track 'Agust-D', Give it to me, Dream, Moonlight, Strange (feat. RM). This was the first BTS song that I heard... Well, I fell into the rabbit hole thanks to Daechwita🤣🤟 I had never listened to rap before but thanks to Agust D, RM and j-hope I finally came to love it. They write poems,to be honest. You should read to their lyrics when you have time because they are meaningful art pieces, a big part of their identity as artists. From Agust D I can recommend "Firts Love", "The last" (you can find the lyric videos, highly recommended. Cried for an hour lol), Shadow, Nevermind and the self titled "Agust D". Did you notice the cameos from Jin and Jungkook? They were the ones fighting in the market. There's a great behind the scenes video of the making of Daechitwa that worth watching. For solo pieces I recommend Jimin's "Lie" and for some fun silliness Jin's "Super Tuna."

You should check out the live performance of this song that BTS did on a online concert. They did it as a group, with costumes, following the storyline of this video. Before BTS … I never liked rap, at all. I may have said this before. I don’t know why, but I love theirs, especially Suga. It took literally the best in the world to attract me to rap and they did it. Rap line hits differently. Agust D mixtapes are always on my playlist, they are insanely good. All members have solo songs and they are all worth it to check. Every time I hear his Mixtapes and Solo songs, I am speechless and completely stunned.
He just has a certain talent to blow you away with a word or phrase.
My longtime favorite songs from him are “Last” and “Interlude: Shadow”.
But I can also recommend the songs “Nevermind” or “Cypher” Parts from the entire BTS Rapline.

Fun fact! Daechwita only has one beat throughout the song, it’s Yoongi’s rapping, flow and tone change that makes it feel like every verse has a different beat. It’s his polymetric rap flows, his agogic accents, or his use of syncopation to rap in between beats that makes him such a distinguished rapper. His signature rap style of being ahead of the beat, & then slowing down or speeding up his cadence giving the ultimate tension and release with his flow is so impressive. I knew the moment I saw this reaction title, you were going to be stunned. I just started laughing and going, "Oh, bless him, he isn't ready." All of them have solo songs, but the entire rap line (RM, SUGA, and J-Hope) have solo albums. If you want to get a listen at the rest of the rap line, RM's "Joke" is an older song but also mind-blowing, and I love J-Hope's "Airplane" for its smooth vibes. But the vocal line have done a ton of solo songs as well, both on BTS albums and individual releases for free online. And you're right, the solo songs/albums alone are almost their own rabbit hole!

I just want you to remember the fact that daechwita’s beat is consistent throughout the whole song but it sounds like it changes solely based on yoongi’s rap and tone changing. Like the whole beat is moving in a line consistently but u will experience new upbeat everytime he change his flow. He is a genius producer.

SUGA; RM and JHope all have released solo albums that they call mixtapes. All are rap and hip hop but very different. While SUGA and RM are straight forward hip hop, Hobi's is more a mix of rap and singing and a lot of happy vibes, just like Hobi, he is sunshine personified. The vocal line has released within BTS their solo songs but Jin and V have both released songs for kdramas (Jin 'Yours' for Kdrama Jirisan, 'It has to be you' for Hwarang - duet with Tae aka V ; Tae also did 'Sweet Night' for Itaewon Class, 'Christmas Trees' for Our Beloved Summer). Additionally Jungkook released cover songs (the latest was 'Falling' by Harry Styles) and Jimin, V and JIn also release solo songs on soundcloud on special occasions like Christmas, birthdays etc.
JHope will probably release a new mixtape this year (RM might also) and ARMY is waiting for KTH1 - V's mixtape which will hopefully come out as well SOON.

Daechwita definitely hits hard and is an incredible music video, absolutely one of my favorites. I enjoy your surprise at this being the same guy who was in butter etc cuz when you get into BTS's discography you'll hear a wide range of songs and really understand that they go hard, they go soft and they go anywhere in between. The guys all have varying amounts of solo work outside of BTS and within BTS there are solo songs on their albums as well. They will make you cry, good luck!

This was filmed in a Korean style palace that was built in order to film Korean historical dramas. I'm sure they had to pay to rent it, but the set was already available. Seoul has several historical palaces, but they're not available for shooting music videos.

Suga as well as RM were both part of the underground rap/hiphop scene in South Korea before joining BTS (when they were just teenagers!). So they have like real genuine rap roots. Suga started writing lyrics at age 13 (and he's a great producer too, he started messing with music production at age 13 as well). RM was actually fairly well-respected in the local underground community/online forums too (he started rapping at around age 14!!). They both idolize original classic hip hop artists of the West like Nas, Tupac, Biggie, etc and listened to them a lot as teens so they built up a solid foundation from their start.
Jhope is the 3rd rapper of BTS, and he learned to rap from RM and Suga (he had more of a hiphop DANCE background which I'm sure helped him rap, with his sense of rhythm and all) and developed his own style too!
Well…..you finally got to appreciate Agust D. He is a musical genius! It makes me smile when I see you realizing that you’re impressed! I’ve said it before, there’s still soooo much of their content that will leave you speechless. For my favourite solo songs :

Suga is my bias from BTS. I’m so happy you reacted to this! He has a lot of solo stuff out as well as the other members. A song that he did that really hits hard is a song called The Last. He expresses his struggles with depression and mental health and also raps about his struggles with being poor as a kid. He’s suffered so much and I gained so much more respect for him after listening to his story in that song. I HIGHLY recommend it

Lots of solo songs. Jungkook (with Suga as producer) just released Stay Alive - it was for the webtoon 7 Fates: Chakho. But he's also done others, such as Begin, Euphoria, My Time. V has several such as Stigma, Singularity, Inner Child, Winter Bear, Christmas Tree. Jimin has Lie, Serendipity and Filter. J-Hope released a mixtape and he's got several really good ones, including Baseline, Blue Side, Daydream and Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G). RM has two mixtapes released, as others have said, Joke is very good. I really like his second mixtape, Mono - Everything Goes, Moonchild. Suga (Agust D) has two mixtapes as well. I've literally got all of those on my playlist. The Last, self titled track 'Agust-D', Give it to me, Dream, Moonlight, Strange (feat. RM). And last, but not least, Jin's solo work includes Epiphany (I really recommend listening to any live versions for Jin as he sounds amazing live compared to any studio version imo - I mean, they all do, but for Jin, it really hits home for me), Moon, Awake. There's also several subunit songs: Friends (V and Jimin), It's Definitely You (V and Jin), Jamais Vu (Jin, J-Hope, and Jungkook), and Respect (RM and Suga).

This was the first BTS song that I heard... Well, I fell into the rabbit hole thanks to Daechwita🤣🤟 I had never listened to rap before but thanks to Agust D, RM and j-hope I finally came to love it. They write poems,to be honest. You should read to their lyrics when you have time because they are meaningful art pieces, a big part of their identity as artists. From Agust D I can recommend "Firts Love", "The last" (you can find the lyric videos, highly recommended. Cried for an hour lol), Shadow, Nevermind and the self titled "Agust D". All of them have done solo work, they all bring so much uniqueness and personal flavor into their creations... It's so inspiring.
Also, I recommend watching the series BTS Explained by DKDKTV, it's really well made and interesting! In this one they give you cultural insights and references for Daechwita and help you understand better☺️

Did you notice the cameos from Jin and Jungkook? They were the ones fighting in the market. There's a great behind the scenes video of the making of Daechitwa that worth watching. For solo pieces I recommend Jimin's "Lie" and for some fun silliness Jin's "Super Tuna."

You should check out the live performance of this song that BTS did on a online concert. They did it as a group, with costumes, following the storyline of this video. Before BTS … I never liked rap, at all. I may have said this before. I don’t know why, but I love theirs, especially Suga. It took literally the best in the world to attract me to rap and they did it.
