not sure if you've watched amygdala already, but the trilogy is actually - Daechwita - Haegeum - Amygdala (where it was explained how Agust D got his scar) anyways, great reaction! glad you appreciate Suga's amazing music, if you can react to his new solo album "D-Day" that would be great to see Hope you get to do more BTS as whole contents in the future! Here are a few of my personal favourites: - Run BTS (not to be confused with their other song titled just "Run") - Fake Love - Mic Drop (MV) - Black Swan - On (Kinetic Manifesto Film) For live contents: - BTS Room Live - Festa - BTS Tiny Desk Concert - Proof - Live
just went back again to your contents and saw I missed it 😅 thanks for a great reaction 💜 can't wait to see more reactions and see your channel grow more!
So he had a song 'AgustD' on his first mixtape called "AgustD" and in the MV he was blonde and said when Daechwita came out that the blonde king in it is that former version of his AgustD persona - that in the beginning was full of attitude and desire for fame and fortune and notoriety - and the dark haired version of him in this is the version of him as AgustD today, where he is older and wiser and really more about keeping his feet on the ground and getting back to focus on the music- in the end he shoots the blonde version, he faces his internal shadows to be more the person he wants to be today. The scar that was first seen in this MV gets it's origin revealed in Amygdala where he said sometimes we have scars that aren't visible, with the pain and experiences we have in our lives, and sometimes the scars are self-inflicted with the decisions we've made or are due to circumstances beyond our control. They can shape us, or break us, but we have to face them to get past them. Thanks for the great reaction. Later!
I recommend some RM “monster” or “joke”. Another rapper in bts & one of the best lyricist of this generation imo.. would love to see yoll react to him!!!
If you want to see the peak of the rap monster RM check out "Joke" but if you to see the peak of the real me RM(so far) check out "Wild Flower" Obviously I'm hoping to see how you guys think the difference between past RM vs current RM. Because it kinda refer back to this video where the more compassion and loved/supported Suga Vs the more savage/ruthless August D(DT Suga spelled backwards)
There are many Korean history references in this song that you wouldn't understand, i.e. King Kwang Hae, rice chest & the big size drum on the back set .... DKDKTV explained these.
*My own thoughts on Agust D's Triology:* Amygdala - Yoongi (Suga aka Agust D) has shared his mental health issues with us since the beginning, and he stated how some of his roughest times were in the early days, like from 2014 to 2016, how he developed social anxiety at age 18, he was dealing with depression and OCD. BTS had hate coming at them from all angles, and it took a toll on them in the early years. So hearing all the other things he was dealing with as well, just puts things into perspective. He's such a strong person. In the making video, he said the scars we create are of our own making. So the best way for him to represent that was the way that he did with the scar on his face. And the medicine he took was for his condition. He talked about how he saw a psychiatrist and his parents went with him, and they said they didn't know who he was anymore. This was in "The Last" from his first mixtape Agust D. He said how could anyone know him when he doesn't know himself, so that phrase "I don't know your name" made sense to me. Looking back at repressed memories. Thankfully he got through all of it, and now is healed to a certain degree. I see the rain as a shift., He also talked about "What doesn't kill you make you stronger", and he is now blooming like a lotus flower. The lotus flower is very resilient, and can grow in mud and water, like on a lake or pond. So I see the rain as cleansing, and healing. He also said in the behind the scenes on Daechwita, that the mad King was the Agust D from his first Mixtape in 2016, and the peasant was from his 2020 mixtape D-2. You can see the scar is very raw in the Daechwita music video on both of them, maybe slightly less for the 2020 Agust D. Yoongi also said that Daechwita is meant to be a trap for the haters. He said this in a livestream, talking about his mixtape D-2, and what the song means to him. He also said the meaning of Daechwita being military marching music when the ARMY is marching, was meant to imply BTS ARMY. So with himself and ARMY together, he was able to over come his past and move forward. But for purposes of the music video, he was in cahoots with the butcher/executioner to over throw the KING - his 2016 angry self. And ARMY's were there to support him. When he said there is no where higher, it's time to put my feet on the ground, the money and success are not everything, it's time to look back and appreciate what I have. In Haegeum, i interpret it as Agust D from 2020 is the Police detective/corrupt Boss, with the partially healed scar, and the Agust D that kills, and steals the money with no scar is D-Day Agust D. The one that is mostly healed and is talking about freedom. (Do we ever completely heal from our scars?) In an interview with IU, and in the D-Day film, he talks about how he was very angry and now he has forgiven the haters and is living in the present. So his music moving forward may not have the angry vibe that we have seen in the past. But he is definitely not done yet. And we see in haegeum he talks a lot about the messages he want's to not only tell the world, but to tell himself moving forward. He is at a high point in his career right now and looking at what will happen moving forward. He wants it to be meaningful and he is ready for it. That's all I got, other than to say that I saw him live in Concert in Oakland, California, May 16, 2023 for his sold out world tour, and he was happy, fierce, emotional, passionate, and living his best life. I'm really happy I was able to experience that, and I'm really happy for him. H is so good live, and he even played the piano for us, and did an acoustic version of SeeSaw, one of his BTS solos, and I loved it. He could have sold out Stadiums, but he did arenas so he could see the faces of ARMY's and experience it more up close and personal. And many lucky ARMY's got selfies with him and of him on their own cell phones. So awesome. 💜
Tigers are a big thing in Korean history/mythology. For one, Korea is represented by a tiger. Also, tigers were a big thing historically as a menace on the continent. So its a sign of a strong individual (not sure but might be white tigers specifically?)
@@carolcrooks7018There is a special sword that only exists in Korea It's the sain sword(four tiger sword), which means chasing away evil spirits with a sword that completes the year of the tiger, the month of the tiger, the day of the tiger, and the o'clock of the tiger As such, tigers have become sacred and representative animals in Korea
I'm not sure how much you know about Min YoonGi aka Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you.💜💜 Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16. Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper in Daegu, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce and compose music. In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising. He has released 2 mixtapes free on soundcloud for the fans - this is his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control) Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D".... Backwards D (Daegu) T (Town) Suga Suga/AgustD was involved in all aspects of this song and music video (and Daechwita/Amygdala) and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) - Yoongi wrote, composed and produced the song, he conceptualised the MV and had full creative control he is a true genius. This is the middle song in a trilogy..... He is a master storyteller.... a fellow army best explained the trilogy as - Daechwita... ridding himself of the need to prove his worth to others Haegum... ridding himself of the confines of modern society Amygdala... he investigates the inner demons and trauma that started his confinement in the first place. Haegeum has 2 meanings...1. it is a Korean traditional musical instrument with 2 strings and.... 2. to lift a ban/to free what was restricted.
You know... Those guys fighting behind his back are Jin and Jk, other members of BTS. They wanted to be in the MV so much , that He created characters specially for them 😊
“daechwita” is the Korean word to refer to the traditional marching music played at the time of a King’s arrival. It is also played to announce important guests and other royalty.
Someone had a theory that the version of him that was poorer and more humble was trying to get rid of his bad side by "killing" the king off, but in haeguem it seems that he's the same one from Daechwita with the healed scar. And is now acting as the "bad" one in Haeguem as the cop. But finally the Yoongi that is not tormented by his past and traumas doesn't hold a scar of any kind and does as he pleases within the mv. He's meant to be seen as the better version of himself, and doesn't care about the money and burns it. In the end he finally gets rid of that version of himself. Yoongi often talks about burning up his past in a lot of his music to become a new person. Although, with the last ending screen in Haegeum, where he looks at us, it's almost giving off the vibe that it's never really over, that a bad side of yourself can always rise to the top if you lose your true self. In Amygdala, it was depicting when he had his car accident during pre-debut in 2011 or 2012. Someone please correct me on that if you know. I ended up crying by the end of the mv, it hurts to see him show us these sides of him and what he went through. I still tear up a little even after watching it so many times. It's also interesting seeing him "take painkillers" within this mv for his injury (his shoulder), but in Daechwita he says lines like "I was born a tiger, I ain't no weak pill popper like you" just shows his strength in what he had to get through during those times. Also, Armys found out that in the Amygdala mv, Yoongi was shown eating an almond which is like a reference to the amygdala which is almond-shaped in the brain. Both Yoongi and RM can be seen reading a book called "Almond" by Sohn Won-pyung, in one of their series "In the Soop". There are always new things we learn about the members. But I'm glad he was able to overcome those hardships and still tell us that through his music. I think the song 'Life Goes On' on his album, which is the last track hit it home for me that he's in a better place now. :)
Min Yoongi the person has Suga as his stage name for BTS and Agust D his alto ego almost. He's says all 3 are all part of himself. He's for ever killing off one part of himself via Daechwita and Haegeum with a social message and personal message in both which are inter related. The Amygdala is his personal story his struggles with mental health via his truma's. So the 3 things he mentions in Amygdala are real things he's experienced.
Let me leave another comment on how the trilogy relates. (It somewhat relates to the Agust D mv too. There are 3 albums/mixtapes that make up one big story) Daechwita being the first shows the blond Agust D, a guy representing his anger/narcissism/greed who found success. There is a revolution, and the lower class black-haired Agust D wins - keep in mind both have scars. Haegum shows how history repeats. The lower-class agust d becomes the new "king", with a new set of values (hence the police station), but he also becomes corrupt, greedy, unjust. So we get the newest scarless agust d to overthrow him, someone who is arguably closer to Suga/Min Yoongi (a truer version of the artist). Amygdala can be seen as a prequel (or a sequel in my opinion). How was Agust D created? Through trauma and struggle. He couldnt save him, so he must kill that part of himself over and over again. (In my opinion, it could also signify the last non-scarred persona getting his scar. History is bound to repeat itself.)
There is a special sword that only exists in Korea It's the sain sword(four tiger sword), which means chasing away evil spirits with a sword that completes the year of the tiger, the month of the tiger, the day of the tiger, and the o'clock of the tiger As such, tigers have become sacred and representative animals in Korea
In a recent interview Suga said his songs as AgustD came because he was full in anger towards hatred comments he n BTS got in the past. eg why he joined "idol kpop" from underground rapper, he wore makeup on stage.. It seems like you haven’t made the connection that Agust-D and Suga from BTS are the same person. I was surprised you didn’t make a comment about the difference when you reacted to Dynamic.
