That was amazing improvising! That came out of practicing using the guide tones of 2-5-1’s? I imagine you used some passing tones as well. I’m going to try it.. Thank you so much!
Great tutorial.......Thanks a million. Still, if you don't mind a small advise. As you explain the movement to and fro of 3 to 7, from a DEDACTICAL perspective you'd be advised to 'kind-of' LEAVE THE FIFTH ASIDE. This will accentuate the pulling power of 3 and 7 way much stronger...................... No Offence Intended!!
Correct, although the 1 may be considered an optional guide gone as it is the root. The 5 serves very little functionality though and can be safely omitted.
@@1950francesca In generel, yes. But since there is no clear distinction between the 3th and 7th of a half diminished and a minor chord, one could consider the 5th as a guide tone.
The inner line is not the melody。the inner line is the soul of a chord progression.the melody is a counterpoint line which is constructed on the inner line.😊
Hi Romana, just a suggestion, I think you should change your channel name to something unique and easier to find. your channel name is hard to find on RUclips. I tried several times to locate your channel but couldn't, I only got it when I searched for one of the topics you posted a video on for guide tones.
I am so happy I clicked on this video!! This is the most organised and comprehensive treatment I have seen on the topic of guide tones. Thank you!!
Thanks. I am a guitarist, but still got a lot out of this. Keyboard is such a clearer visualization for harmony than the fretboard. Thanks
Excellent progressive and musical lesson!!!
This is a great way for me to learn chords - thanks for doing this!
please make more tutorial about bebop jazz improvisation. Thanks

I don't understand why at 7:08 the 9th of Bmin9b5 is a C and not a C#. Or should it have been a b9?
C is minor 3rd in A minor

Agree. Also note that she starts out by saying that the guide tones of a chord are 3-5-7. Guide tones actually refer only to the 3rd and 7th.

@@jaapkerkvliet2143 Interesting point!
So what is the exact role of the inner lines are they used for smooth voice leading for chord progressions?
The inner line is not the melody。the inner line is the soul of a chord progression.the melody is a counterpoint line which is constructed on the inner line.😊
👍
