In this comic Anya very obviously implies she doesn't feel positive towards Curly, "maybe a good man in some other circumstance" "but a captain would go down with the ship" She knows Curly ignored her problems. She also is basically telling Curly needs to take responsibility. She doesn't hold resentment, but she still felt hurt by his actions. He didn't save her and so she shouldn't be expected to save him either.

@ImmaLittlePip I imagine she had an inkling all along. I mean, the crash happens pretty shortly after she tells Jimmy about her being pregnant and the last she saw of Curly, he was still trying to make everything work out. She wasn't dumb, unlike what Jimmy thought of her.
It makes me very happy to know that there are more people with the same thought, that Anya and Swansea knew that Jimmy was the real culprit who put them in that situation with Anya it is known considering her SA and Swansea because she started collecting all the things Jimmy did adding that Anya told her what he did to her and that he had known Curly for years
Curly isnt a saint but yall are insane to think he deserved his fate. He didn’t defend Jimmy, but he also didn’t protect Anya enough (at most tho, he would have learned abt everything in 3 days). Man was in a tight position, conflicts weren’t allowed in an enclosed space and Jimmy had not only been a “friend” of his- but also the copilot. Deserved is debatable. I honestly just love how poetic his predicament is. He turned a blind eye to Anya's suffering and Jimmy's instability and abuse. And now, he's forced to watch the same abuse continue, his crew members being killed one after the other and being completely helpless to stop it. He can't turn a blind eye anymore. But it's too late.

You can feel bad for Curly, but my heart breaks for Anya. How she tried to give even her abuser, Jimster, a second chance, to believe he was good even though she was well aware how horrible he was. She loved and cared for curly, the man who did nothing against her rapist, the man she believed crashed the ship, she didn’t want him to suffer, she wanted him to be okay, she believed in his goodness. She is such a good and tragic soul.
I don't really think curly had enough time to do anything... Not saying he couldn't have done more sooner. But there is at MAX three days between finding out and the crash. I mean, I'm not even sure what he could've done. They still had months left thousands of miles away from anyone. The most he could've done was tied him down for the rest of the trip? Though I can imagine that'd have legal consequences on his return to earth. All things considered I believe he tried his best, just too little too late.

I do wish we could've seen Anya more, and explore her character even further. Because due to Jarvis being the unreliable narrator, she ends up being nothing more than a little speck of memory. Because let's be real... The woman is perhaps an absolute genius. From what we see, she has a lot of books on her shelf, especially on psychology. From Curly's POV, we've seen her be lively, joke, play board games, and while it's quite subtle, she figures out something is wrong with Curly just by a standard corporate psych evaluation. But perhaps her biggest feat is keeping Curly alive. A man who had his skin burnt to the very core, kept alive with bandages and intensive care. Despite all the mental torture brought to her by Jagdpanther, she still kept Curly alive. Even if she's not able to get to Medical School, some people just aren't book smart. I know a lot of people who got less marks in school but are absolute gods at Computer Science. But that doesn't take away from her genius, her ability to hide the gun so well that even Curly, who probably knows the ship inside out, couldn't find it. I would say that her dying beside Curly was also a deliberate choice. It is clear she valued the Captain a lot, but she wasn't going to let Juche take her agency away anymore. She probably tried to use the gun, but couldn't figure out the code. So she decided to take the painkillers. Or that's how I read that scene, because the Gun was nowhere to be found before. Failing on that, she decided to take the painkillers, something that was giving Curly, ironically, a lot of pain due to having to forcefully swallow them. Even in her last breath, she wanted to make it easier for Curly. Even if she didn't kill him, she knew that without the painkillers, Joewari in his madness would probably kill the Captain and put him out of his misery... If only she knew... Moreover, she wanted the Captain to see what his decisions bore. But also, in a way she did forgive him. She understood that he was probably under a lot of stress and duress, wasn't thinking at all (we can see it when he confronts Jotaro and Anya, a lot of what he says doesn't make sense at all, and I personally think it's because he was still unable to process what really happened. Remember, Jotunheim is his childhood friend, this is something confirmed by the developers. And it's clear that their relationship has been quite abusive as well, considering how much Joebiden snides at him rather subtly.) I see people saying curly deserves this. Think about this, he can't blink, his eye is constantly dry, his gums are burnt, so breathing is also probably painful. Those bandages are old, and blood has soaked through where his limbs are, so they're now infected and having them on for that long would make them fused to his skin, plus they get itchy, imagine having itchy bandages across your whole body with burnt skin and the pain of infection all over. Only Jimmy deserves that. I forgot to mention... MOIST

It's hard to say if he deserves it. That's a reasonable matter of perspective. But I certainly think it's the authors' intent for you to at least think about it. I think it's intentionally quite shocking and over the top in how much Curly is made to suffer because I think they really want you to consider how much of a role the complacent bystander plays in doing evil. There are legitimate reasons to believe or not believe that he deserves it, but I think the goal of the game is to at least make you think about it.
Kinda true but at the same time, it still mostly points to Jimbo. Curly was trying his best to keep everyone sane but he was too kind-hearted to be taken seriously. Ever since the big reveal of the company shutting down, that's where everything sets in. Jimbo's words and actions eating at Curly while at the same time guilt tripping him, his friend's true intentions. Anya's certain and future situations, Daisuke's aimless future, and Swansea's family. All of that distracting from the main problem
@mastertjt56 he was trying to keep them sane after kinda putting them in that situation by trying to be everyone's friend (mainly Jimmy's) before being a responsible captain. I don't mean getting Jimmy hired but everything else after. There's an interesting thing that happens that curly does. Pony Express stupidly told curly that they wouldn't be returning to a job once the delivery was made. But they told him not to tell them until they were much closer to home. Most jobs wait until the end of the day and preferably the end of the work week to lay people off. They do it to prevent incidents or having angry workers around. Curly tells them when they are several months out with nowhere to go, no way to vent. All of those negative emotions and feelings are trapped there in a tin can slowly floating towards their homes where they won't have a job. They can't move past the negative when they are still trapped in it. If he had waited then they would've been home soon after hearing the news leaving them able to vent and go to their support systems/families or whatever and move on. But company wise one main reason is to prevent incidents. Curly tells Anya not to tell Jimmy about her pregnancy (she does after some waiting) but why did curly tell her to wait? Because despite having enabled Jimmy for so long he's aware that Jimmy knowing might result in an 'incident'. We can be upset that curly rushed to Jimmy after hearing about what happened after Anya told him but perhaps the actions weren't to comfort him but subconsciously to make sure there wouldn't be an incident.

Niw what did he do wrong? Gave the same friend a second chance after he graped someone...
He still isn’t as worse as Jimmy. He’s not great, but he’s not the worse either. Especially since he tried to sees the good in everyone. Plus, he could’ve been in denial too. Either way, he did not deserve his fate. That was too cruel.

yeah by being a good person to someone who didnt deserve it, he enabled their malicious incompetence. Its why establishing boundaries and being harsh when the situation calls for it (and boy did it) is important. He was a captain who cared deeply for his crew but in order to do that, you have to be hard too. He kept ignoring Jimmy's jealous quips against him and was cajoling him long before things escalated it, hell its why they escalted. He later admits he should have been harder on Jimmy. By being kind to Jimmy, he was terribly unkind to Anya, who was depending on him. Not that Curly deserves what happened to him, but life is not about what we deserve or earned, its just circumstances which occur as a result of what little we can control against a tide of what we can't.
@@t3nshi356 If I remember correctly, he didn’t know until later on. He’s a victim of Jimmy just as everyone else was. I’m a survivor. Survivors and their close ones aren’t the only ones who are affected by the SA. The perp’s close ones are too. When they find out that someone they care for is capable of doing such a horrible thing, their brain can go into denial. As a coping mechanism. Which is when, sometimes, things like “fixing it” can pop up. Because they can’t fathom the person they care for can be such a horrible person, so their brain copes by finding ways to “fix” this (so things can go back to normal). This string of dialogue here is so beautifully written, I can never stop thinking about it. Curly had the chance to prove himself as the good human being he can be, but his lack of action forever ruined that part of his character. Anya struggling to figure out if she's even capable of forgiving him, let alone if she would want to. They both break my heart so much in several different ways god I love the writing in this game and this comic and oouguhjgm,..gh,,hnljgkm
Some people say Curly deserved this. Some argue he didn’t. I’d like to say something however. Curly had the situation with Anya (to my knowledge) info-dumped on him within a very short period of time before the crash. Yes he didn’t do anything right away, but have you taken a step back to consider how hard these things are to handle? When was the last time you heard about something terrible that a friend who you thought was at least a good person. Did you just immediately up and drop them? Did you not try to see the good side at all? Now imagine you’re stuck on a ship in the middle of a void, and that person is your copilot. How the hell do you make a concrete decision in days? How in the world do you sort all of your own feelings out while trying to figure out how to handle other’s at the same time, and pilot a forsaken ship at the same time. Now your former ally turned rapist, still the copilot, sets that ship on a crash course and you have to fix it. Did curly really have enough time to make the “right” choice? Perhaps you think so. Perhaps not. But I hope you have the ability to make such a fast choice in real life when it comes to it, and have no regrets. For this is an insane fate for a blunder of this magnitude.
nope he knew that Anya was in fact uncomfortable with Jimmy around her and instead of apprehending jimmy he just talked him like talking to mentally unstable predator would work and definitely wouldn't trigger him to do something irresponsible (he expected Jimmy to be causing the disruptions)

I mean, Jimbo pratically told him "Imma crash this ship" and he just stood there. He was aware of Jerome's "problems on Earth" whatever that's supposed to mean. I dont think he deserves what he got, he deserved to take resposability for what happened as a captain, but Jerry's words seemed to get to him, so for a moment it seems like he stops and considered that maybe it would be for the best if no one new of what happened in his watch over the ship. Again, that's not to say he deserved his fate, more to say he got in a car with a drunk driver.

Watching Anya so humanized, hearing her talk and acknowledge that she can't possibly have a baby in these circumstances, not even having a choice and with no hope left to keep going she chooses her end. It broke something in me. Now I'm sobbing violently .
People who think curly is a bad guy never acknowledged morally grey characters. If you remember their position, you'd understand Curlys actions : they had 8 out of 12 total months left for their shipment, so starting a huge conflict with Jimmy, not only good friend Curly knew for a long time, but with the only other co pilot of the ship, wouldve been the stupidest and most impulsive decision ever. How exactly do you confront that? Tie him up? Lock him up somewhere? Start an argument? Curly needed a co pilot in order to fly the ship, Jimmy wasnt there for no reason. This also wouldn't have gone unnoticed by pony express, who forbids any conflicts between the crew, resulting in a payment reduction, which is also not in the interest of Anya and the others who lost their jobs. There was no right or wrong to go on about this situation and its, for me at least, more than understandable that Curly nedded at least one night to think about all of that, to reach a solution to this problem with the best possible outcome. He wanted to help Anya and i believe everyone woudlve nedded a minute to plan the next steps, like Curly.
I mean if you wanna talk morally gray you can always talk about Swansea a horrible man who was a coward his whole life, but curly goes to extra mile by never taking responsibility

They would cut the cost by not having an additional employee they'd have to pay (even if the pay is small) Also I don't think curly never took any responsibility, that's very short sighted. This comic really highlights what Anya was thinking, and how she truly feels about both Curly and Jimmy. You did an amazing job bringing more life into it. Overall I am both sad and happy at the same time.🥹
God, this is voice over is so good but hurts so much…that line about Curly’s cries with Jimmy is like a dagger to the fucking heart. Anya was a pure soul who didn’t deserve any of this shit. She had her pleas brushed off because “I’ve known him for a long time,” was assaulted by a scumbag of a crewmate, got pregnant because of said crewmate, and was mentally tortured by that crewmate for months on end, driving her to this moment…all because she was doing her job for a company that cared more for its profits than its people. I know it’s a work of fiction, but I really hope if there’s an afterlife in this universe, she’s shown the love she was never shown on that spaceship. And Jimmy…may he be forgotten and discarded like the very people he worked with, nonetheless Anya.

Yeah, I wish Curly put locks on the sleeping chambers or something even if Curly would've gotten in trouble with Pony Express or at least kept an eye on Jimbalaya before he SAed Anya. I know Curly tried to see the good in everyone/everything, but some people don't have any good in them or are good at lying about who they really are.
Personally I don't think he could, unless they took away the locks from some other part of the ship. Remember, the locks are hard-welded onto the doors themselves. And I don't think Pony Express would be okay with that. Sometimes I think perhaps, Jambalaya the Terrible and Pony Express were equally responsible...

I think Curly was a genuinely decent person, who was told something horrid had happened-- and didn't know what to do, except talk to Jimmy about it. Try and figure something out. Because it's also not like he knew all the details for months-- he found all of this out in the span of like 3 days, and there wasn't an easy solution for him.

You know phantom pain is a horrible thing but imagined you in this critical state with phantom pain, you can't speak,you can't get up and move,you can't touch nothing but all you can do is whale and feel the never ending pain that crawls through out your entire body never able to scratch the pulsating itch.

In this comic Anya very obviously implies she doesn't feel positive towards Curly, "maybe a good man in some other circumstance" "but a captain would go down with the ship"
She knows Curly ignored her problems. She also is basically telling Curly needs to take responsibility. She doesn't hold resentment, but she still felt hurt by his actions.
He didn't save her and so she shouldn't be expected to save him either.
Also she thinks Curly crashed the ship, she is being nicer than anyone ever could in her situation

Curly isnt a saint but yall are insane to think he deserved his fate. He didn’t defend Jimmy, but he also didn’t protect Anya enough (at most tho, he would have learned abt everything in 3 days). Man was in a tight position, conflicts weren’t allowed in an enclosed space and Jimmy had not only been a “friend” of his- but also the copilot.
Wish he could have done more for Anya, but then again he turned into just a pile of skin tissue and an eye.

He turned a blind eye to Anya's suffering and Jimmy's instability and abuse. And now, he's forced to watch the same abuse continue, his crew members being killed one after the other and being completely helpless to stop it.

You can feel bad for Curly, but my heart breaks for Anya. How she tried to give even her abuser, Jimster, a second chance, to believe he was good even though she was well aware how horrible he was. She loved and cared for curly, the man who did nothing against her rapist, the man she believed crashed the ship, she didn’t want him to suffer, she wanted him to be okay, she believed in his goodness. She is such a good and tragic soul.
I don't really think curly had enough time to do anything... Not saying he couldn't have done more sooner. But there is at MAX three days between finding out and the crash. I mean, I'm not even sure what he could've done. They still had months left thousands of miles away from anyone. The most he could've done was tied him down for the rest of the trip? Though I can imagine that'd have legal consequences on his return to earth. All things considered I believe he tried his best, just too little too late.

I do wish we could've seen Anya more, and explore her character even further. Because due to Jarvis being the unreliable narrator, she ends up being nothing more than a little speck of memory.
Because let's be real... The woman is perhaps an absolute genius. From what we see, she has a lot of books on her shelf, especially on psychology. From Curly's POV, we've seen her be lively, joke, play board games, and while it's quite subtle, she figures out something is wrong with Curly just by a standard corporate psych evaluation.
But perhaps her biggest feat is keeping Curly alive. A man who had his skin burnt to the very core, kept alive with bandages and intensive care. Despite all the mental torture brought to her by Jagdpanther, she still kept Curly alive. Even if she's not able to get to Medical School, some people just aren't book smart. I know a lot of people who got less marks in school but are absolute gods at Computer Science. But that doesn't take away from her genius, her ability to hide the gun so well that even Curly, who probably knows the ship inside out, couldn't find it.
I would say that her dying beside Curly was also a deliberate choice. It is clear she valued the Captain a lot, but she wasn't going to let Juche take her agency away anymore. She probably tried to use the gun, but couldn't figure out the code. So she decided to take the painkillers. Or that's how I read that scene, because the Gun was nowhere to be found before. Failing on that, she decided to take the painkillers, something that was giving Curly, ironically, a lot of pain due to having to forcefully swallow them. Even in her last breath, she wanted to make it easier for Curly. Even if she didn't kill him, she knew that without the painkillers, Joewari in his madness would probably kill the Captain and put him out of his misery...
If only she knew...
Moreover, she wanted the Captain to see what his decisions bore. But also, in a way she did forgive him. She understood that he was probably under a lot of stress and duress, wasn't thinking at all (we can see it when he confronts Jotaro and Anya, a lot of what he says doesn't make sense at all, and I personally think it's because he was still unable to process what really happened. Remember, Jotunheim is his childhood friend, this is something confirmed by the developers. Dying at his side was probably a show that even when she's dying, she still values him enough, and doesn't blame him for what happened, despite (arguably) being responsible for everything that happened.

I see people saying curly deserves this. Think about this, he can't blink, his eye is constantly dry, his gums are burnt, so breathing is also probably painful. Those bandages are old, and blood has soaked through where his limbs are, so they're now infected and having them on for that long would make them fused to his skin, plus they get itchy, imagine having itchy bandages across your whole body with burnt skin and the pain of infection all over. Only Jimmy deserves that. I forgot to mention...

Imagine a dad who's really old and in a horrible nursing home because he was always out working to provide for his kids especially when they desperately need him, he doesn't deserve that fate but because he didn't do anything to reassure his kids that he care or find time to spend with them(he's always tired from work) unfortunately my 2 braincells are fighting for 3rd place so that comparison is most likely trash

It's hard to say if he deserves it. That's a reasonable matter of perspective. But I certainly think it's the authors' intent for you to at least think about it. I think it's intentionally quite shocking and over the top in how much Curly is made to suffer because I think they really want you to consider how much of a role the complacent bystander plays in doing evil. There are legitimate reasons to believe or not believe that he deserves it, but I think the goal of the game is to at least make you think about it.

Kinda true but at the same time, it still mostly points to Jimbo. Curly was trying his best to keep everyone sane but he was too kind-hearted to be taken seriously. Ever since the big reveal of the company shutting down, that's where everything sets in.
Jimbo's words and actions eating at Curly while at the same time guilt tripping him, his friend's true intentions. Anya's certain and future situations, Daisuke's aimless future, and Swansea's family. All of that distracting from the main problem
@mastertjt56 he was trying to keep them sane after kinda putting them in that situation by trying to be everyone's friend (mainly Jimmy's) before being a responsible captain.
I don't mean getting Jimmy hired but everything else after.
There's an interesting thing that happens that curly does. Pony Express stupidly told curly that they wouldn't be returning to a job once the delivery was made. But they told him not to tell them until they were much closer to home. Most jobs wait until the end of the day and preferably the end of the work week to lay people off. They do it to prevent incidents or having angry workers around. Curly tells them when they are several months out with nowhere to go, no way to vent. All of those negative emotions and feelings are trapped there in a tin can slowly floating towards their homes where they won't have a job. They can't move past the negative when they are still trapped in it.
If he had waited then they would've been home soon after hearing the news leaving them able to vent and go to their support systems/families or whatever and move on. But company wise one main reason is to prevent incidents.
Curly tells Anya not to tell Jimmy about her pregnancy (she does after some waiting) but why did curly tell her to wait? Because despite having enabled Jimmy for so long he's aware that Jimmy knowing might result in an 'incident'.
We can be upset that curly rushed to Jimmy after hearing about what happened after Anya told him but perhaps the actions weren't to comfort him but subconsciously to make sure there wouldn't be an incident.

Someone said how anya is uncomfortable giving curly the painkillers because he is unable to consent while jimmy just shoves it down his throat. And that really sent chills down my spine

yeah by being a good person to someone who didnt deserve it, he enabled their malicious incompetence. Its why establishing boundaries and being harsh when the situation calls for it (and boy did it) is important. He was a captain who cared deeply for his crew but in order to do that, you have to be hard too. He kept ignoring Jimmy's jealous quips against him and was cajoling him long before things escalated it, hell its why they escalted. He later admits he should have been harder on Jimmy. By being kind to Jimmy, he was terribly unkind to Anya, who was depending on him.
Not that Curly deserves what happened to him, but life is not about what we deserve or earned, its just circumstances which occur as a result of what little we can control against a tide of what we can't.

Survivors and their close ones aren’t the only ones who are affected by the SA. The perp’s close ones are too. When they find out that someone they care for is capable of doing such a horrible thing, their brain can go into denial. As a coping mechanism. Which is when, sometimes, things like “fixing it” can pop up. Because they can’t fathom the person they care for can be such a horrible person, so their brain copes by finding ways to “fix” this (so things can go back to normal). Which is why I brought this up in my 1st comment.

This string of dialogue here is so beautifully written, I can never stop thinking about it. Curly had the chance to prove himself as the good human being he can be, but his lack of action forever ruined that part of his character. Anya struggling to figure out if she's even capable of forgiving him, let alone if she would want to. They both break my heart so much in several different ways god I love the writing in this game and this comic and oouguhjgm,..gh,,hnljgkm
Some people say Curly deserved this. Some argue he didn’t. I’d like to say something however. Curly had the situation with Anya (to my knowledge) info-dumped on him within a very short period of time before the crash. Yes he didn’t do anything right away, but have you taken a step back to consider how hard these things are to handle? When was the last time you heard about something terrible that a friend who you thought was at least a good person. Did you just immediately up and drop them? Did you not try to see the good side at all? Now imagine you’re stuck on a ship in the middle of a void, and that person is your copilot. How the hell do you make a concrete decision in days? How in the world do you sort all of your own feelings out while trying to figure out how to handle other’s at the same time, and pilot a forsaken ship at the same time. Now your former ally turned rapist, still the copilot, sets that ship on a crash course and you have to fix it. Did curly really have enough time to make the “right” choice? Perhaps you think so. Perhaps not. But I hope you have the ability to make such a fast choice in real life when it comes to it, and have no regrets. For this is an insane fate for a blunder of this magnitude.
nope he knew that Anya was in fact uncomfortable with Jimmy around her and instead of apprehending jimmy he just talked him like talking to mentally unstable predator would work and definitely wouldn't trigger him to do something irresponsible (he expected Jimmy to be causing the disruptions)

I dont think he deserves what he got, he deserved to take resposability for what happened as a captain, but Jerry's words seemed to get to him, so for a moment it seems like he stops and considered that maybe it would be for the best if no one new of what happened in his watch over the ship. Again, that's not to say he deserved his fate, more to say he got in a car with a drunk driver.

I didn't think much about how Anya's voice sounds, but I think this voiceover suits her best.
People who think curly is a bad guy never acknowledged morally grey characters. If you remember their position, you'd understand Curlys actions :
they had 8 out of 12 total months left for their shipment, so starting a huge conflict with Jimmy, not only good friend Curly knew for a long time, but with the only other co pilot of the ship, wouldve been the stupidest and most impulsive decision ever.
How exactly do you confront that? Tie him up? Lock him up somewhere? Start an argument? Curly needed a co pilot in order to fly the ship, Jimmy wasnt there for no reason. This also wouldn't have gone unnoticed by pony express, who forbids any conflicts between the crew, resulting in a payment reduction, which is also not in the interest of Anya and the others who lost their jobs.
There was no right or wrong to go on about this situation and its, for me at least, more than understandable that Curly nedded at least one night to think about all of that, to reach a solution to this problem with the best possible outcome. He wanted to help Anya and i believe everyone woudlve nedded a minute to plan the next steps, like Curly.
I mean if you wanna talk morally gray you can always talk about Swansea

The reason Curly was the one who got hurt and was in the cabing at the time was because he was triying to fix the trajectory of the ship (that P. Jimmy changed), everybody blames Curly but that was because Gynecologist told them its was his fault!!
Or if you still believe it was Curly that crashed the ship, then give a logical reason of why. Jimbague crashed because he wanted to avoid the responsibility of what he did to Anya and we know he was already a violent and unstable man, but Curly? What tf do you think his reason was??

God, this is voice over is so good but hurts so much…that line about Curly’s cries with Jimmy is like a dagger to the fucking heart.
Anya was a pure soul who didn’t deserve any of this shit. She had her pleas brushed off because “I’ve known him for a long time,” was assaulted by a scumbag of a crewmate, got pregnant because of said crewmate, and was mentally tortured by that crewmate for months on end, driving her to this moment…all because she was doing her job for a company that cared more for its profits than its people. I know it’s a work of fiction, but I really hope if there’s an afterlife in this universe, she’s shown the love she was never shown on that spaceship.
And Jimmy…may he be forgotten and discarded like the very people he worked with, nonetheless Anya.

Yeah, I wish Curly put locks on the sleeping chambers or something even if Curly would've gotten in trouble with Pony Express or at least kept an eye on Jimbalaya before he SAed Anya. I know Curly tried to see the good in everyone/everything, but some people don't have any good in them or are good at lying about who they really are.
Personally I don't think he could, unless they took away the locks from some other part of the ship. Remember, the locks are hard-welded onto the doors themselves. And I don't think Pony Express would be okay with that.
Sometimes I think perhaps, Jambalaya the Terrible and Pony Express were equally responsible...

This game's story, setting, and theme broke me into tears and I fucking love it.
anya is probably the most innocent character in this game, along with daisuke. they didn't deserve this to happen to them. the reason im not including curly is because he enabled jimmy to do this stuff anyway.
Some people really hate the man, but Curly didn't deserve his fate. I think a lot of people forget that Curly was also a victim of Jimbo's manipulations too-- perhaps to a greater extent that Anya, in a way, because he COULDN'T see Jimbalaya for what he was until it was far too late.
Was he flawed? Oh, yes. He didn't do enough to help Anya. But what could he have realistically done, that wouldn’t coompletely fuck everyone else over? Maybe he could've let Anya sleep in medical, since at least that had a lock on it, but that wouldn’t have stopped fucking J*mmy from pulling his bullshit. Maybe he could’ve made Jimbo get into one of the cyro pods, but who's to say he'd go quietly? He might've fought and hurt someone, or worse, manipulated the whole crew into blaming Anya (Curly would be easiest to do that to, I should think, because he was the man's best friend. And Daisuke was basically a kid, he'd probably be really torn. Like to think Swansea would still get out his axe though).
I think Curly was a genuinely decent person, who was told something horrid had happened-- and didn't know what to do, except talk to Jimmy about it. Try and figure something out. Because it's also not like he knew all the details for months-- he found all of this out in the span of like 3 days, and there wasn't an easy solution for him.
People see Anya as a victim and put their entire mindset on that and make everything else about the game secondary.

Curly fr got messed over,he was in a toxic friendship with jimbo that led to him not doing things and taking all responsibilities from Jumanji or fix things.He even took the fall for the ship and couldn't defend himself so everyone believed he crashed the ship.They all honestly could have been better is j*mmy wasn't there,he manipulated and abused everyone in some way and form😔😭
