People complain about how small the screen of the Mazda compared to competitors. Having a physical touch controls is a big plus for me , people who complained about the Dial most likely never used it for more that 7 days. Once you get used to it you wont want a touch screen anymore. Safer and better.
The reviewer fails to indicate if the mazda screen converts to a Touch screen in AA or CP mode! I think I saw other reviews that they Do!! Having said that I still like the squarer size of the Honda CRV. Only thing missing on the CRV Hybrid Sport Touring is : should have had a Power Telescoping adjustbale steering wheel & Ventilated seats.
Plus, the screen on the Mazda is touchscreen in Apple CarPlay
@@Chiroman527 and aPano sunroof. But he didn’t indicate if that was a sport touring or just a sport hybrid CRV
I like the Honda better inside and out. I don't like the price though.
Definely Mazda CX-50 Zoom zoom zoom
I'd get the CX-50 that has Toyota's engine and hybrid setup with a custom license plate that says Toyazda.
Two companies working together to bring forth this hybrid. Does that make this a hybrid hybrid?
Mazota
Both good looking suvs can't decide
CX50 for sure
I'm taking the CX-50. Better powertrain, better looking, comes with a spare tire which the CR-V hybrids don't have, panoramic roof, homelink auto dimming mirror, more upscale, ventilated seats also not available on CR-V, and the list goes on.
You're still my favorite car reviewer, Ben!
Mazda rav4 all day
Watching the driving section, I noticed that he never did get on the pedal in the CX-50. The CX-50 has more low-end torque giving you confidence in getting off the line and when merging on the highway. Also, if you listen closely, the NVH seems to be better in Mazda CX-50 with little road noise interfering with his microphone. Note that the rear storage space on the Mazda CX-50 is extremely larger than the Honda and way more functional given the flat floor and flat sides... the Honda space is encroached by the back wheel-wells popping out into the cargo area. And Ben is right, the engine in the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid is basically the exact same engine in the "well respected and proven" Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. So, although the CX-50 Hybrid is new to the market, the engine and drivetrain technology is proven and combined with the quality, craftsmanship and design details of a traditional Mazda. In the end, it comes down to customer preference, but if you started keeping score, the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid ultimately wins the matchup.
No spare tire in the CRV is a dealbreaker.
Wrong Ben. Some of us started out with a fun civic from the old days and still like sporty feel and drive to our cars
I line the Honda's look. The black amd red.
I plan camping and driving on mountain roads. For me a spare tire is mandatory. That eliminates the CRV hybrid.
Although I'm not specifically looking to replace my wife's 16 CRV Touring with only 49K miles on it, which I drive on many occassions as well, the new CRV Hybris Sport Touring is probably the way I would go. We have had 4 CRVs since 2007 (2007, 2010 [leased, 2013 Owned (traded in for a 2016 when the Air Bags debacle hit in 2016) - all Trouble Free ! That Track record speaks volumes. But I like the more rugged look of the CX-50. Mazdas are known for their Zoom-Zoom (had a 2005 Mazda 6 - terrific car with a small V-6 engine). A personal test drive is necessary to weigh the pros and Cons of each. I will say that over the past few months in my area (Suburbia NY) I'm seeing lots of Honda CRV Hybrids around town in parking lots. There are more Honda Dealers around here than Mazda. I like the larger, Squarer InfoT screen that the more narrow one in the Mazda. I have a 22 Acura MDX wth a Touch Pad (not a dial) - it takes plenty of time to get used to. You don't mention that has been depicted in other reviews of the CX-50 that in AA or CP mode, the screen becomes a Touch Screen !! But I don't drive around town connected to AA (Google Phones) - so this is a consideration in the analysis. Finally, current financial offers are starting to come out (lower loan rates, or better lease rates) which is something else to consider for the pocketbook. IF we were to enetrtain upgrading the wif'e 16 CRV Touring, a deal would be dependent on a good Trade in $$$$ to make sense. Nice review , THX
You get the nice exterior and interior from Mazda but Toyotas reliability…. It’s a no brainer plus the CRV doesn’t even come with a spare tire.🤣 I’m personally looking at the preferred trim. I don’t need all the extra things. Just means more can go wrong with the vehicle.
Yes, this is not the top trim CX 50 hybrid. This is the premium trim.
@ I know….
Looks like it’s a hybrid kind of day. There was a Camry hybrid in front of you and RAV4 hybrid in the left turn lane at the end the video 😂.
Personally, my next car I’m considering is either turbo Mazda or hybrid Honda.
The hybrid Honda because it’s the more powerful but the Honda is a quite sophisticated looking pretty car, and notorious reliability.
Turbo Mazda cuz zoom zoom
But the hybrid CRV has less horsepower than the Mazda CX 50/RAV4 hybrids. I believe it’s 200 hp or 204 hp for the Honda and 219 hp for the CX 50/RAV4.
Is Honda recalling the crv's for fire's?
I will wait to see the New 2026 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and redesigned Subaru Outback. These are throw away vehicles which you should only lease at the lowest monthly price since once the batteries start to go these vehicles was worthless. Any Vehicle without a share tire is a total waste.
Mazda needs to upgrade their infotainment system and displays. The Mazda needs to increase the interior rear seat leg and head room throughout the vehicle.
I hate the screens in the Mazdas. Had a CX90 as a rental and couldn't stand the little dial control and non-touch screen.
Did u notice or feel that horrible stripe that goes down the middle of the CX50 seat? People have complained about it in the 50 & 90. Bad design Mazda..
None both overpriced unfortunately
True
“Overpriced”
Compared to?…
@@donkedic1 I know it's hybrid but has no features forester and few more.
@@AlexAlex-gs1xh sorry totally over my head.
The CX-50 has the a Rav4 powertrain, handles better, but cost less than the Rav4.
So when looking at other hybrids, the only one worthy of comparing prices to would be the Tucson Blue.
Then I would say the CX50 is priced higher around 2-3k over the Tucson.
If anything is overpriced, it’s the Escape at around $36k. Not even worth considering when Asian brands are much better.
@@donkedic1 Not in comparison, but in general, it's overpriced for this class of cars. Should be below 35k. 40k is definitely overpriced whatever the car it might be, even the Rav4 hybrid but at least Rav4 offers many trims and the lowest hybrid trim comes for 33k.
