Coldplay are masters of the power of emotions. Like taking a ‘normal’ emotion and amplifying it so that everyone, on any level, can feel it or relate to it. It brings people together. I love them so much.

my father passed away suddenly in November & I was all alone in lockdown while my bf was (and still is) deployed over seas. this song literally helped me get through it. I still listen to it every day ❤️ you should react to the live is Sao Paulo version - it's AMAZIIINGGG!!! I had chills the whole time ❤️

Unfortunately "toxic masculinity" is heavily engrained in our culture. Men grow up as boys who are told their entire lives to "man up", insinuating that men don't feel, don't cry, don't show emotion and that's what they need to grow up to be. Even my son, who is only 4, gets mad at himself when he "can't stop crying like a big baby" because of the almost imperceptible conditioning he gets coming at him from every angle. I tell him everyday that it's ok to be sad or to cry because everyone does sometimes and it shows me how he's feeling and let's me know he needs me, but the "cultural norm" is so loud that he still hears it. He already feels pressure to stifle his emotions and he's 4! You can imagine what a lifetime of that conditioning (sometimes without a parental voice to counter it-sometimes with a parental voice PERPETUATING it!) would do to someone. Trying to unlearn it is like trying to gain an entirely new identity, it's nearly impossible. I agree completely with what you're saying and I think it absolutely needs saying, but I definitely recognize it's a battle too!
