I’ve had the privilege of seeing them perform this live…I can’t even describe the feeling. It takes you somewhere else. FUN FACT: Chris Martin wrote that song for Gwyneth Paltrow when her dad died.
As I watched this video, I thought about my incredible Dad who died last December on my Mom's birthday from pancreatic cancer. I took care of him until the end. My Dad was my protector, provider, guide, rescuer, friend, and eventually he turned to me for those same things during his illness. My Dad always came to the dining room window to watch us leave from the driveway. When he was younger, he always walked us out to our car, sometimes he stood on the porch and waved as we departed. He always, always said, "No hot-footin'!" And I always always laughed and replied, "Never!" His ashes are in a box in the dining room. I will be going to bury him in a family plot in September. I will no longer be able to hold that box to my heart and hug it. He was my plumb line, my running partner, fishing friend, dance instructor, into the water back-flipper, my carpenter/fix-it instructor, my rescuer from the bat in my bedroom, my rescuer after a bad break-up, and he showed me how he endured stoically his own illness and death. Oh, I miss him dearly. I will tell you there is life after death. I know this is true because as I sat in the livingroom on my makeshift couch bed, I felt his presence at the adjoining door. He came towards me and stopped across from me next to the sofa table. I felt him face me, then move on towards the wall by the front porch where he used to wave goodbye and was gone. Within a minute my sister came through the same door and said. Chris, I think you better come in." My Mom and sister were next to my Dad's bed in the family room. I saw his face and I took his left hand and put it over his right and kissed it. I knew he was already gone. I talk to him often. I still have a recording of his voice on my phone where he calls me by name and tells me he loves me. I am so so grateful I got to spend most of last year with my family during the pandemic as my Dad fought his last battle. And I am so grateful for the family I still have with me. We all say we love each other much more often. Thank you for listening to great music. I started seeking uplifting things last year and started to watch your channel almost every day at bedtime. Thank you.
@@chrisl418 I felt this on another level. My heart hurts for you but my soul knows that same comfort that only you can truly understand when you have felt them near. Sometimes I believe it’s simply the only reason you are able to keep going and get through the loss. Thanks for sharing your memories of your dad, continue to do so. They say we die twice , the first time it’s our body on this earth, the second time is forever, it’s the last time anyone ever speaks our name.

I caught Coldplay while channel surfing. I had the privilege to immediately change channels so I didn't have to listen to their crap. Typical of the over-rated garbage that pollutes the airwaves.
Chris Martin wrote this for his then-wife Gwenyth Paltrow after the death of her father. He felt helpless to help her with her grief and wrote this to express his feelings to her.
I just now discovered them after this year I don't know why it felt like there was a veil on top of them and it's been lifted and I'm in love with them.

The video of the lead singer (Chris Martin) walking around - was shoot in and around the Southbank, London, UK. Great song choice. Other Coldplay songs to check out "Trouble", "The Scientist" and "Clocks"
I think you guys would like "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol & "How To Save A Life" by The Fray. Both were on Grey's Anatomy a few times early on in the show!! Great reaction to Coldplay!!! 👍🏻😎☮❤
CLOCKS and then VIVA LA VIDA , and HYMN FOR THE WEEKEND, are three great Coldplay songs. I cant wait to see you guys enjoy your first big concert like this!!
This song reminds me of a conversation my mother had with my fiancé after my miscarriage. He said I want to fix it but I can’t. I was in a very sad and depressed state and he just wanted me to be better and happy. It’s still something he doesn’t completely understand but I still grieve even all these years later.
Reading your comment, reminded me of the history behind this song…. It has been said that the inspiration of this song was when Coldplay’s lead singer, Christopher Martin, was inspired to write this song, when his the wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, was dealing with the death of her father, Bruce Paltrow, in 2002. The song is literally about true love, and wanting to help those you love in their time of need…. It makes perfect sense why this song would remind you of a time when you were in a very sad and depressed state, (as any loving woman would be after a loss like that) But I pray that over time that pain will heal, and you understand that the man who stood by your side during this difficult time loves you so deeply that it hurts him to see you hurt. That my dear is TRUE LOVE.
It's a situation nobody wants to be in. My wife had a miscarriage before our second child and we were both completely out of the picture after that. We were permanently arguing over everything. Just wish for everyone to not being in this kind of situation. We fixed ourselves btw, got 3 kids now and are super happy together ;)
Yes.... R E M 's, "Everybody Hurts" was perfect for the movie "When A Man Loves A Woman" with wonderful Meg Ryan & Andy Garcia...what a powerful movie and a nice surprise to hear their song in movie, pulls on your heart strings that's for sure.
I used to take care of a young man with severe psychological issues. The one thing that always brought him peace was listening to Coldplay with me. He died tragically a few weeks ago. He would have loved seeing your reactions. Keep up the good work.
So pleased you’ve listened to this song! Has such a special place on my heart…I played it at my late husband funeral over 13 years ago as we both loved this song 💙 Not a day goes by without me thinking of him. This song will always live on in my heart too! Classic! Keep up the good work boys, we love you here in the UK 🇬🇧 xx
Coldplay is one of the greatest bands to ever come out of England. I became a fan immediately. I hope to see them live one day. Big up to you two young cats for expanding your mind to new genres of music. Blessings.
Love this song! Every time I hear it, it reminds me of the R.E.M. song EVERYBODY HURTS. If you haven’t heard it you MUST!!! I cry every single time I hear it.
This was a special treat for sure. I love that you love Coldplay as much as you do. Thank you for the positive energy and good feelings that the two of you are creating and sharing for all of us to enjoy.
You guys haven’t been there yet but you will and come back to this song. Maybe time and time again. It’s therapeutic. You’ll grow older and older and things will go away and so will people.
