the timing is perfect, just got this and I accidently found it to be the BEST panning device ever (if you put filters in parallel and change their channel settings (right, left, side, mid, etc), you can create some amazing stereoscape with any sound (shoutout to Andrew Huang for the L/R filter effects on panning too)
After decades we are now much closer to getting past recreating the physical analog knobs, faders, and screws (lool) in SW GUI's over and over again... the "It looks analog so it must be good" philosophy is dying; finally!! Devs that take true advantage of a computer's pros like screen size, peripherals, and ability to make parameter controls self-explanatory visually are becoming more and more popular and it's definitively the future, great to see this change.
Analog has its benefeits. The limitations of certain analogue instruments/synths is super interesting creativeley. but the fetishisation of the analogue aesthetic was already tiring a decade ago. you're right, and i'm so glad that the industry is finaly starting to move on
Oh my, THIS plugin!!! Nice interface! BTW, MFilter from Melda does the same, plus (as you probably know) EVERY parameter in every Melda plug-in can easily be modulated. And the modulation waveform itself can be edited to you heart's content 💛. It's actually much underrated - just a bit of a learning curve ;) 🤯 and the examples in the tutorials (or the presets given) aren't always very musical/applicable. Anyway, thanks for sharing this plug-in!👍
I’m obsessed with thei distortion plug. I’ve been using it for just the modulation in it on so many other applications then just making amazing bass! So happy they took this further with a plug just for this. So happy, really enjoying this company
This Plug-in is so creative.. bought it with u'r link... just Learn the morph button on my fighter twister for the moment and did crazy things !! thanks ;-)
What an awesome day! First Smartcomp comes out and it's the ultimate compressor. And then this - this takes modulated and sequenced filtering to another level for me, because I actually get how to use this plugin. I have a lot of filter plugins but I can never really figure out how to set them up.
I think this plugin works best when sound designing rather than mixing. For example, you can use an envelope follower or LFO to modulate sounds in creative ways using the morph feature
This is making me think of UVI Shade. Which is also a creative EQ that can technically do a lot of what people look to ProQ3 or its clones for, but it's also got a lot options to build modulation of parameters within the plugin and is very much geared toward making creative custom filters. I like the visually drawn morph lines here, but Shade is still plenty visual in how it works so users can track what the modulators they add to an instance are doing to the curve. This is very cool and powerful in its own way though, I think I'll have to pick this up too at some point.
Shade has more options for filters like combs and phasers, and more modulation options . You can do them in Morph EQ, but you have to fiddle around by adding loads of points. I like the sound of Minimal's filters more. Shade sounds a bit sterile. The mod system in Morph EQ is really easy to use. But if you use both of them together, you can get spectacular results, as I found out last night.
Thank you for the shout out that you released another video this morning. For some reason, RUclips decided to not tell me about your recent videos and I just noticed I missed like 4 of them. :o
The morph kinda reminds me of Trash 2's filter section. Similarly, you could accomplish the same macro'ing with UVI Shade. The difference is that the transfer curve is nonlinear amd configurable (which should an option in every plugin ever). To make this happen in Ableton with other plugins, you'd have to use something like Modulat. Overall, Minimal Audio is showing that it's got an eye on interesting plugins that have real uses. Rift is a spectacular distortion plug and I use it in alot of projects. This will probably be the same.
This is an incredible plugin. EQ's are essentially filters, and they actually delay the sound [centered] at the frequencies they boost or cut, with the exception of linear phase modes, which have ringing artifacts and other tradeoffs. The split control is interesting because you can create a sort of pultec push and pull shape with a dip in the middle quickly. You can get very creative with the automation, and do things that would be insanely tedious with other EQs. Also, you can hear all the bands moving at once, which changes your perception of what to do, and keeps you in the moment. The only vulnerability I see is the fidelity or musicality of of the actual filters/bands themselves, as intermodulation distortion, phase issues, high frequency smearing, and other characteristics make EQs have personality, ironically.
Pretty cool. I use Bitwig (a creative more sound design style DAW) so besides automation I can use any of or combination of the 38 built in modulators (with choice to sync where applicable) and or some of the 24 note effects to "morph" pretty much any EQ, or plugin of almost any kind for that matter. Modulators modulating modulators ad infinitum. I suppose you could also use various mod/envelope plugins available as well. It's just nice to have an easy to use extensive mod system that is part of the DAW ecosystem with negligible CPU use imo. And of course Bitwig has assignable macros and "remote controls" (for you hardware controllers) as well. That said I like the visuals in MorphEQ.
Just curious... have you used, or explored, the modulation of effect parameters in Melda Production's set of effects and synth/sound generators? I ask only because I think it may have capabilities that might interest you, based on your comment. Cheers!
@@Charlie-Oooooo I'm aware of them, I've seen some videos on some, but I haven't personally explored them. Melda has some pretty cool stuff but I'm currently not in need of, well anything really. You can find MSEG in Melda’s Msoundfactory which oddly Bitwig does not have, not even in "The Grid" which is BW's modular sound-design environment with a 186 modules. Somehow, despite repeated request for it by the community for years now, BW still doesn't have a MSEG. Crazy.
Minimal Audio makes some great tools! You can create the same effect with a couple of macros in UVI Shade or Fabfilter Volcano that you then automate, but like you said; this is much more accessible and a real time saver. Could be a good idea for a Reaper script actually, unless someone hasn't already thought of it.
Haha Thank you :)) I love this plugin!! For creating sound Effects. Minimal Audio is first with this solution. I am happy!! :) This is something like "ribbon" in Eventide plugins.
It’s got nice vector graphics, it’s almost becoming an illustrator type program. Bezier curves driving the audio🤔. It looks like effect plugin makers are getting inspired by the design of synth plugins. No more awkward knobs that never seem to control that well with a mouse.
This is amazing for automation! Some EQs don't seem to like it when you automate multiple parameters at the same time. This thing sounds smooth. How's the CPU usage?
I would just route those parameters to a macro. I do it all the time. This can make the workflow more accessible and quicker than my usual routing scheme. Not bad.
That's pretty genius. This was already possible without wasting hours by RECORDING your automation.. buuut obviously this is superior. However I agree that a bpm-sync function for the Morph knob would be very, very useful. I maybe would have missed this plugin, if you hadn't reviewed it, so good on you! You earned that like!
@@jocke1972 looks really good, but is missing the key thing morph has. Doesn't give you an option to draw a curve that it follows with morph from 1-100%. So the things you can do quick with morph, are still slow with UVI shade. That being said UVI shade has a lot of things morph can't do. A combination of both would be great.
This in a lot of ways is better than Pro Q 3 or even Kurchoff, because it more natural sounding, I think they did what "Native SSL X EQ" was "trying to do"

FL Studio has a "morph eq" in it's plugin EQUO. It doesn't work the same but you can create 8 banks of EQ settings and morph between them, so technically you can do something similar. Problem is it's a graphic eq though so not as flexible.
Hey Wytse, you should check INA GRAM plugins. This kinda reminds me of some of the controls in their plugins. They also have an EQ plugin with some interesting controls ;)
nope, no dsp problems in minimal audio plugins. i can tell you for sure as i'm heavily using rift filter lite and rift feedback lite in my own productions. rift is one of my favourite developers atm. rift filter lite for example has really quick modulation making it a great filter for automation and it's kinda funny that they released this thing now because this is exactly how i used rift filter lite all the time already, except that this thing can also do fancy curves which makes me wonder if i should upgrade. and that's also funny because rift filter lite is actually the small version of rift filter but i now feel like this is actually the big version of it, because it kinda finishes off what i believe the original vision of rift filter lite was
UVI shade really kind of makes a joke out of nearly everything as far as filter types and modulation workflow/UI design... It's really almost perfect, just missing a couple of features they will no doubt add in future updates, like a linear phase mode and such, but easily the coolest EQ I've ever seen, especially for modulation/getting weird and experimental...

This will be absolutely banging for sound designing reese basses for DnB/Dubstep/Glitch Hop
It is.
I mean, sure, I just think: Do you need another plug-in for that?
Then again, I got the Slice EQ in PhasePlant and that can do the same.
You can say that again - a promising sound design tool.
Later today: a third video showing how both plugins can work together in sonic harmony with a title ending like this...
This looks like a match made in heaven for Bitwig and its modulation tools...
indeed. using the macro mod in bitwig on rift filter lite was already much of a pleasure. this is just adding an even higher level to it
UVI Shade is just as powerful
Just wanted to point out that anything form Minimal Audio has top sound quality and highest quality code.

And another thing I noticed...to be digital...it does sound very clean, open and slightly analog
You see I got the newsletter for this, switched to RUclips and this video was right in front of me.
That "Clean Enhance" Pre Set on a whole mix" is really nice at making the mix sound fresher...and a little more open
This is such a simple concept but so brilliant. I saw a video about this and immediately bought it after about 30 seconds.
