I got this plugin a couple weeks ago and it has seriously changed my workflow. It strikes a perfect balance of creative simplicity and technical control. It’s good to know I made a good purchase, and I am not just childishly excited about a new plug-in
Baby Audio really hit a homerun with this one. Sounds great, looks great and so easy to dial in. Been using it for everything THE last few weeks (except when I need some plate reverb).
I truly love the way Crystaline sounds as well as the user experience of operating it. It is very rare that I find a plugin fun to operate and Crystaline takes the cake. It's fun to use, the sound quality is fantastic, and I can get what I want from it. Win - win - win. My goto reverb by a long shot and I have a metric ton of them.
I just bought this and right out of the gate … I said… “wow… whoa… this is so rich and gorgeous “. I had it on edge of break up guitar. This is going to inspire over and over again.
I saw in a baby audio stream that they leave the discounts on the newest product until the next new plugin is released. I bought this one right away and I love it!

Your so right about the importance of UI. Knobs can be ok too but the most important thing is how the layout is prioritized. For example in Valhalla Vintage verb, every single thing is something I often tweak, and lowpass and high pass are so handy right there. Fabfilter is the king of EQ, but the same philosophy doesn’t add so much to Pro-R. Endless graph possibilities won’t matter if I just dial things faster with valhalla. Crystalline looks great! Cool little innovations
I really love Spaced Out, which I think is also Baby Audio, since it has a very similar intuitive UI. Generate from Newfangled Audio is my favorite modular synth plugin atm, as it also has very nice visuals alongside its sleak UI, helping me understand the waveforms created.
I have Valhalla Room. Right off the top of my head this would be better for instant gratification and the great tempo synced start/end, whereas Valhalla gives me more granularity especially the verb EQ multipliers which is really a unique feature that this one does not seem to have, and a very convenient way to remove some wishy-washy without changing all the setup
wow man, i've played a bit with this verb plugin and had fun, but wasnt sure if i felt it was gimmicky. obviously a lot of plug-ins push their 'cool' UI's but how they affect the sound is the actual end goal so that should really be ignored. but hearing you talk about those features really reassured me that this, and kind of by extension, a few other BabyAudio plugins are actually really worth it.
That "Start" fader really do make those drums groove didnt saw that in any plugin really and yes i know what a pre delay is but this sounds so different than a simple pre delay
Wow! I have to admit that I've already watched a few demos about this plugin and honestly I thought it was just another bloody reverb. But your demonstration of the timing sync convinced me. I'm in!
A few more years and we get synths and gear with touch controlled oled buttons just like these. Not sure if I would want it but its the direction we're heading for sure.
4:03 the analog equivalent to this type of control would be a capacitive sensor (or capsense). These pick up the location of your finger through your finger's capacitance. Only issue with this though is that they're typically used to interface digital signals, so a capsense device would require a digital interface to control the analog signals. Could be very possible though!
My "Go To" is generally Valhalla verbs for quick good results. I would like to hear an A/B between Crystalline and Seventh Heaven (The Bricasti M7 emulation, you know, only like one of the best hardware reverb units ever made).
Tails by Unfiltered Audio was another one like this that just came out, would be interesting to see what you think of it as well. It's definitely not perfect as I'm pretty sure there are some bugs but personally still preferred it to Crystaline. Crystaline definitely does certain things a lot better though.
I just found this video, looking around for reverb plug-ins. I’m sorry you damaged your desk but dude, you are funny and smart as hell. Really enjoy your point of view. Subscribing now. 👍🏾
I have been using for some time now. My favourite reverb now. Can be very cpu consuming though. I wish you could lock the ducker settings just like you can do with dry/wet.
My only nit-pick with this plugin was the naming/categorizing of the presets. You need to scroll through a bunch of first and last names of people I've never heard of to find their creations (presets). It would be much more useful to have the presets listed as maybe... • Gutar • Vocal • Drums • Percussion... ...then just tag the user after the name. This current setup adds extra confusion to a reverb plugin that (in a lot of ways) has removed most other reverb confusions.

For me it is producing unpredictable artifacts on certain types of input (wide spectrum sounds like acoustic piano), despite my tries to find workarounds. Plugin Alliance denies it :D It does work fine on more narrow spectral content,. You can tilt the response away from the low mids and that seems to avoid them (the artifacts, which are essentially like sputtering reverberation, rather than smoothly decaying reverb). Anyway, you could do a review of tails and see if you also hear those artifacts. Maybe then Unfiltered Audio/Plugin Alliance Support will address it... I will momentarily hit "purchase" on Crystalline on Plugin Boutique, plus the free item in my cart.
