Not sure why this watch flies under the radar... but mechanical ISO diver, titanium, light, sweet spot dimensions, quite thin for a diver, adjustable clasp, relatively high magnetic resistance, established brand, can be had for mid-$500's. My favorite parts are the beveled crystal and the bracelet. I have 2 and they both run +5-10 spd on the wrist.
A small design detail I like about this watch is that the date window and “mini index” together are roughly the same size and shape as the index opposite of it, so it doesn’t feel like it imbalances the dial like date windows often can.
I have the limited edition version of this watch and I love it! It wasn’t mentioned but the movement is 28,800 bph and has a smooth 4hz movement with the seconds hand vs 3 hz.
I've always been more of a Seiko guy, but Citizen has been killing it with their offerings in the last few years. Would love to see you take a look at the new Forza integrated bracelet watch from them.
The Turtle is cheaper than this one, at less than €400 often. The only real advantage of the Fujitsubo is the sapphire crystal. Other than that it’s just a different style, though I like that it’s classier than most of the other Citizen diver’s watches.
I just picked up the black silicone strap for 300 and boy can I tell you I love this watch. Great classic dive watch styling with effort in all the right places (materials, movement @ 4hz, size, cut sapphire)
RZE Endeavour is a fantastic little titanium microbrand diver. Great loom, on the fly adjustment clasp (in titanium, no-less), decent bezel action and less than $500. Great review as always, man. Really appreciate you not doing sponsored or paid "reviews." 🤘
That clasp can be found on the cheapo Promaster BN0100-42E, albeit in steel and I agree that it is very good. The word is Vintigism by the way. You're welcome.
I love this watch, got the black one for close to two years… kinda bunkers that none of the reviewers cares to mention that you don’t normally get 4hz antimagnetic movement for that price 🤷♂️
I have the promaster with the day complication. I got it as a gift and didn't really care for it but it grew on me. The ceramic dial is pretty sweet to me now and the lume is unbeatable. And this is coming from a Seiko fan.
Titanium is so awesome on this Citizen. On nato this is a killer, the movement is great, the glass is elegant, the only downside would be the titanium feel of the ring clics

I bought my Fijusabo a few months ago, gets equal time with my old SKX. You can get the black dial on a bracelet for under the price difference of a blue dial if you know were to look. The grey market ebay sellers wont say it's Citizen branded, but mine was, and it's titanium so I think it "fell off the back of a truck" sort of thing. There was one on ali for really cheap, but they stopped selling them. You can buy the bracelet separate from citizen, but it still costs more than grey market.

Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from MAMACOO I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
TIL that my Fujitsubo, that I've had for over a year, of which I've never used the bracelet for, has a nice micro adjust! I have now fitted and sized the bracelet for the first time and I'm pretty happy with it...though not the actual fitting and sizing process...that sucked. Thanks a lot Evan.

Thinking about affordable Ti divers the Helm Vanuatu Ti in my box comes to mind, but that one has a very generic clasp sans otf-adjustment so I guess it’s not much of a one for one alternative. While I wish it had a ceramic bezel and crisper finishing, the only thing that actually stopped me from ordering one was the male endlinks. Unfortunately my wrists are right at the point where endlinks and L2L matter more than case size
It's a great watch, no doubt. I'm on the fence about buying it. I already have 2 excellent Promaster dive watches that look very similar to this one. It's just hard to justify buying another watch that's so similar. 😕
The real question is did you take the bracelet off your dads watch and see if it fits your black one? And, if so, did you go down the rabbit hole of finding just a bracelet or even consider buying the blue version JUST to have the bracelet all the while convincing yourself you would wear both the blue and the black one?
I wish the endlinks didn't stick out past the lugs - and I don't mean the center 'male' part of the endlink, the 'shoulders' also stick out past the endlinks. Citizen does that all the time and I don't get it.
I've never understood why it would matter in a review unless the sample watch they have isn't running within the stated tolerances (which is a 30 second window on this model.) If his is -5 or +11, it doesn't really matter either way if it's within Citizen's parameters.
It’s too light for me. I think it’s a fantastic alternative to the SPB143 though. This coming from someone who owns a pelagos 39 so I’m no stranger to titanium.

Had it and sold it. I like the titanium. But the entry level NY0040 seems more unique, and I like it better on my wrist. Much cheaper, more legible with the flat crystal. Although the Fujitsubo is not bad. The bracelet is much nicer. But I wear my NY0040s on a RAF single pass strap
Citizen has been releasing mostly epic win watches but no one is buying them and they all flopped, the total sales of just the garbage moonswatch is more than the overall sales of all Citizen watches combined. Looks like they're listening to customer's wants. I hope Citizen won't go bankrupt.

Definitely an ok watch for old dads who or not watch collectors but everyone else don’t waste 1K on a Submariner homage regardless what he says. For 1800$ you can find an amazing A17365 or even A17366 Superocean 42! Amazing watch, chronometer movement, top built quality not to mention BREITLING! In my recent experience, Citizen smashes Seiko out of the park.
I am not a diver watch person, I generally prefer black dials and watches on straps, but there is something about this watch that spot me.
