Hated? Sheep mentality. Most never owned one. I hear over priced. Yet they idolize watches the cost 1K to make and cost tens of thousands because of good marketing. Lol.

If you’ve owned a Tag Heuer then you know they’re superb watches. I was gifted one by my wife for our wedding day, a two tone bi metal aqua racer with a navy dial. It’s a stunning watch and looks and feels expensive. It wasn’t cheap but you can tell it’s worth the money the minute it’s on my wrist and I always get compliments on it. I adore this watch. I own “luxury” watches and this is probably my favourite. The lume is also outstanding. A truly beautiful watch

The se/l bracelet was amazing. Tag taking design risk is the whole part of techniqued avant garde. They should go back to leaning into the avant garde designs

If you ever had to deal with the Tag Heuer service department you will understand why Tag has a long way to go with customer service. My new Tag had the stem completely pull out the first time that I brought it home to set the date, the AD sent it to the service department in New Jersey, and Tag refused to honor the warranty. I called the service department to ask why and have never been talked down to by a representative of a company like that before. My AD stepped up and covered the cost at $700? I sold all three of my Tag's and swore off the brand.

A lot of the good things about the brand are being spun as bad things in this video. The brand has a great heritage but it absolutely should not be restricted to reissues of vintage looks at unapproachable price points. Tag is more like what Rolex used to be. It's that tool watch that survives being worn daily for the entirety of someone's 20s, and then some.
It seems to be one of the most gifted watch brands, and that's because it's typically proven itself to the buyer, and because the price point allows for it. It gets pushed as a "first luxury watch" for those reasons, but it's also a great seventh or eight watch, because the person who knows the brand wants a nicely designed tool watch for an active lifestyle.

You have some nice information about the founder of Heuer, but you didn’t say anything about the founder of TAG.
That would be greasy Saudi arms dealer Akkram Ojjeh, who made his fortune selling weaponry and aircraft for France to unsavoury people in the Middle East.
Ojjeh bought his way into motorsports and watchmaking, but I would never buy one of his watches. They were for F1 fanboys and James Bond wannabes. Cheap and/or tacky.
Now that TAG are mercifully gone, LVMH should drop them from the name if they want to bring back some cachet.
People talking about their “TAGs” rather than their “Heuers” is emblematic of what is wrong with watch culture. Or maybe it is just that there are “TAG” people and there are “Heuer” people

Nice video, gents, kudos. Concise, informative and sometimes quite emotional, which is what makes it fun to watch. As a long-time Heuer aficionado, I might respectfully disagree with you on couple minor issues, but your point about those f..gly plastic watches is spot on. I am also afraid a bit that the current TH CEO is a huge downgrade, compared with the great JCB, but the time will tell. Cheers and good luck!

My personal distain for Tag Heuer solidified after I snagged the last Green Monaco in 2009 (?) and the pushers worked about 10% of the time - their customer service rep kept telling me to, "Push harder..." - for two days. She finally agreed "something is not working correctly." She asked me to send it back and they would get it fixed in about 6 months! -- I sent it back, for a refund, and have not, nor will not, look back.

For me It's more the case of I don't hate the brand but I only like a handful of their watches, like the Steve McQueen-esq Monaco for example.

I think TAGHeuer could take a massive step in the right direction by simply rebranding back to Heuer.
The current Autavia is beautiful watch, only spoiled by the TAG above the heuer. Also, my mrs got a small gold aquaracer in 2020 and although I tried to convince her to look at other watches, she had her heart set on it and truth be told, it is one of the prettiest dial finishes I've ever seen in a watch - TAGHeuer can make good looking watches when they want to.

Absolutely right and they did go there with the Monaco calibre 11, then they released the calibre 12 Monaco with the full Tag Heuer logo.... ☹️

I know you guys don’t agree but honestly the s/el was one of the most iconic watches on earth. And it encapsulated the brand honestly as a Motorsport staple. I love the discussion here but I disagree on a few points but that’s the beauty of life. Cheers boys I’d love to see more discussion

i would love 2 post a in-depth reply, but you guys clearly hate tag hueur, so what's the point, motorsport is everything 2 me, no heuer , no motorsport.
thank you so much for hurting the thing you claim 2 love most, heritage, and workmanship.
