Everyone needs more than their salary to be financial stable. The best thing to do with your money is to invest it rightly, because money left for saving always end up used with no returns.
I’m looking for something to venture into on a short term basis, I really need to create an alternate source of income, what do you thing I should be buying?
"Another thing, of course, is life will have terrible blows, horrible blows, unfair blows. Doesn’t matter. And some people recover and others don’t. And there I think the attitude of Epictetus is the best. He thought that every mischance in life was an opportunity to behave well. Every mischance in life was an opportunity to learn something and your duty was not to be submerged in self-pity, but to utilize the terrible blow in a constructive fashion. That is a very good idea." Charlie Munger 2007 USC Law School Commencement Address
For boomers and senior citizens, the current market and economy are unnecessarily harder. I'm used to simply purchasing and holding assets, which doesn't seem applicable to the current volatile market, and inflation is catching up with my portfolio. My biggest concern is whether I'll survive after retirement.
Yes, gold is a great investment and a good bet against the devaluating dollar, been holding some for awhile now, I’m grateful my adviser’s moment by moment changes in the market are lightening quick, cos who know how much losses I would’ve had by now.
Annette Christine Conte is the licensed advisor I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
It isn't that we were so good at doing things that were difficult. We were good at avoiding things that were difficult and finding things that are easy. - Charlie Munger
One thing i learnt recently, to which Charlie corroborates is to proceed in life, take the path of least resistance. If you're in the right perspective, you will see it
Charlie Munger always shares such valuable wisdom! Avoiding mistakes is just as important as making good decisions. His insights on patience, continuous learning, and staying true to your principles really resonate.
Everything he has said is accurate. Had a good marital choice - and unfortunately, she died young. Lived under my means. Avoided making some bad decisions and made some. I have always focused on learning, changing while knowing other people could do some things better. I live in the house that I purchased 44 years ago and drive a 20 year old car that performs as well as it did on the first day, brand new. The new house two doors down (replacing the tract house that had existed) was listed for $6,230,000 and is under contract. A younger brother did it even better. He took every pay increase and bonus and invested them for years. He is going on another vacation overseas this week. And, yes, I subscribed to the Daily Journal for years.
I have known!, working in a company for more than 40 years, quite a lot of superiors who had no integrity,no intelligence, no experience and no true dedication to the work we did? Sure they loved doing as little as possible, and their paycheck, and playing boss as long as the good times were on us! ,but I guess that's the way big companies are? They don't really care about lower ranking bosses!! I have often thought about Shakespeare ,in these situations, " I have seen servants on horseback, and kings on foot !" Still,,,,,,!! what these two say, or give away, are truly pearls of wisdom,I followed Al my life, , don't spend more than you earn, and it's not overcoming difficulties's but trying to avoid them! Now there's something to live by 👍
The best financial decision I ever made was based on an article in the WSJ in 1982 about Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway. I sold all my other holdings and purchased Berkshire. All I had to do was simply leave it along which I did. One of my best friends lived in Omaha therefore I had two reason to attend the stockholders meeting which I did for 25 years. A simple decision to place all my stock wealth in BRKB stock relieved me of acquiring wealth particularly since my wife had multiple sclerosis. Some segments of life are simple when you have confidence in your ability to make logic and rational decisions.

1) he used to read a lot everyday - so he was smart 2) he was in finance investment business. Buffet is quoted to have said "if u want to invest like me - read 500 pages per day".
I met both Mr. Buffett and Mr. Munger several times at the annual stock holders meeting. I was lucky enough to research a bit and found BRKB 26 years ago and put all my investment with them, now at 82 the only concern is meeting my maker. Right choices equal good consequences, a simple equation with an astounding result.
I'm also a fan of Warren Buffett. can we correspond with you and be friends? I will ask you for advice on my investments. or in making a decision. I am 46 years old and I have some positive results in investing

“ I wish I were in there “ !!!😱. What a quote Charlie !!!! - you are like a huge tree trunk that still affords wisdom long after the last needle has fallen off . What a giant you are and your humble attitude , gentle ways and overall kindness shine through as a mentor and a genuine human being . We are all better off for having you 🙏❤️🇺🇸
One of the reasons Charlie was great was because he focused on making less mistakes then others. One of the many lessons shared in A Teenager’s Guide on how to Invest Like Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger.
"By avoiding things that are difficult, and getting into things that are easy." Hustle culture, corporate culture, and 9 to 5 culture preach the opposite! Those are hard lives with little money. That's how they were programed in order to be good little robots to make other people, who know better, richer and happier.
So there is 2 problems I have here. I currently read a lot and invest heavily and trade stocks. I see progress in my work, but it’s like Charlie just said, it only works if you live long enough. He essentially is saying you need to sorta get lucky with the genetical lottery and be blessed with a long life. That’s my first issue. Secondly, this man was 100? And he read all the time. Are you telling me if I quit working and read as much as possible right now, I’ll still never consume as much info as this man, so what’s the point? Life isn’t long enough to do all the stuff you want. So why try? Why am I working for money that I can’t take with me? Should I just quit now and travel the world? Try to enjoy some of my life? But that’s not possible without money. So now back to the money and time issue. This will be the death of me.
This is reminder to all came on earth empty and will go empty to our graves. This life temporary we are travelers on earth. What good and evil deeds we done that what we will take in our graves... Our deeds. Most important. Ashamed times we living money important everything, humans lives nothing.
Where is the Alibaba investment mistake??? Wish he added that mistake to his wisdom quotes "Never buy aa business purely based on the business. Look at the control of higher powers and how arbitrarily they can clip the wings of a businessman AKA Jack Ma fiasco.

Yes. RIP, Charlie. I like listening to your life philosophies more then the money stuff. I have been very lucky, i work in a science based field, which I love, and made enough money along the way to be comfortable.
A century of investing, even at 100 dollars a month, would return 80 million with zero effort. We have great people who invent things, who create things, piggybacking on others' hard work is cunning but should not be confused with wisdom.
I'll never understand why people have the urge to deny themselves every pleasure in life to accumulate millions or billions in wealth only to realize at the end that you can't take it with you. Yea, he could have died with 4 billion in the bank instead of 2 billion, one of his greatest regrets. Whoever dies with the most.... loses. The guy who makes billions and dies exactly at zero.... wins! 😂😂
What kind of great speech this money collector can give? The answer is none. My comment is it is only in America people like him considered great, because of their questionable skill to collect money.
Charlie's best advice. Be born rich or be poor. Hahahahahaha!!!! I love this fraud of charlie and warren where they pretend they weren't born with someone else's home run in their pocket. Nice factory town there warren. Wonder if anyone born to a factory ever failed in life? Nope. 😊
Every family has that one person who will break the family financial struggle, I hope you become the one

yes, this is what gets me through current period. Taking the blows and fix it the best that we can.
Charlie was a very wise man.
What is his best book in your opinion?
This man was a GENIUS! RIP Charlie Munger! You are my hero!

Just buy and invest in Gold or other reliable stock , the government has failed us and we cant keep living like this.

Very practical and rational man. 🙏🏻
It's still hard to believe that he's no longer among us. He will be missed so much
Well not that hard, he was close to 100. Tragic loss, yes. But honestly, he was far overcooked than fresh for the factory xd.

Sad moment
You might think the first mistake he'd try to avoid is having the last name Munger.
Rest in peace, legend.
How did this turn into a memorial for him? He had valid points, let’s have healthy debate about them.
Mistake #1: Becoming a billionaire.
You forgot don't get married...😂
I married one dumb one and 2 clever ones...made 3 million out of that
@@SunofYork 😁👍
Does he actually need to double his fortune though? He can’t even spend 1/100th of his fortune before his death
Your importance in life is how much money you can accumulate 😮
99 and regrets not having a higher net worth. Srewge?
How does he spend most of his time, working or with family. Tells you what people actually care about.
Did this guy know his family?

Pretty tough to spend a billion on yourself though. If you try, you’ll die really young.
If you're single, maybe. I think it would be considerate to leave a bit to your children...Isn't that how generational wealth gets started?

Bit perplexed. What is the point of getting rich, when you live frugally, at least not for your entire life.
Money can only buy happiness up to a certain point, after that it produces diminishing return on happiness. Making money was their hobby.
I think he simply enjoyed being busy at his work. It seems that he knew that money is not everything.
Exactly, he is enjoying the discipline.
