Hello there I'm a young repair man i love what your doing i will visit you one day typewriters are great and amazing machines keep going for a long time
Okay, so yes there are a few different key board set-ups, but only like a hand full. And even then they're not that different from the qwerty set-up (which is the one we use to day on computers, phones, tablets, ect.) On the qwertz set-up the only huge difference that I noticed was just the y and z keys were switched around. People if you can type on a lab top you can probably figure out how to type on a typewriter. Although it may be difficult learning how to clean, lube, and repair your typewriter, if you set your mind to it I'm sure it can be achieved over time.
Love the typewriter, love the store, but I hate the way she talks to us like we are "UNAWARE" what a keyboard is! Most of us still use laptops or computers right?
I have several typewriters of which 7 are manual and 5 are electric models. I prefer using the large desktop manual machines because they are well engineered and have a better feel on the keys. Lately, I have been looking for small mini wrenches for use in making adjustments on these typewriters and find that they are no longer available.

The story about the girl attempting to use her thumbs to text on a typewriter.... wouldn’t she’ve been exposed to using a computer keyboard? Come on...the basic functionality and operation of typewriters are not that far off from what we use now. 🙄
It's sad, but the kiddos I know of out there use tablets and smart phones... Even MORE sad was a story I saw of a charity donating many brand new children's books to a kindergarten class... these 5 year old children didn't even know what books were, how to hold them, open them, or turn the pages... they were "swiping" across the front covers of these books, absolutely bewildered there was no response... (That's when I broke down crying and stopped watching that video 🥺)
actually from the fact that he is typing on it and it basically one continuous shot the typewriter in the shot is an Underwood. It makes sense though, those are the really old typewriters, the ones that have glass keys. Most now days have plastic keys and Underwood typewriters are (at least to me) known for having glass keys. Hope that helped.
I found a Remington in the bush, and it works really well. Too bad I can't change it to the Dvorak keyboard layout so that I can use it to its full extent.
Bruh, you’re acting like kids have no Idea what these are. Sure, they mainly don’t care, but they have came back from the dead. Also, I’m not trying to be mean! Just letting you know in case!
