    Thank you - loving your M50 explanation videos. I purchased an M50 M2 about 8-9 months ago for doing 'talking head' videos with the intention to start a youtube channel and glad to say I have finally found videos that go step-by-step and make a lot of sense! Will continue to look through your helpful videos. I have a standard kit lens 15-45mm and brought an additional wide-angle lens 11-22mm which I was told was good for what I hope to do. Tonight I adjusted the auto settings for the first time and already notice a huge difference - exciting!

      You are very welcome and I'm glad you found this video useful! Great to hear about you starting your YT journey. The M50 is a great choice for YT videos, that's what I started with. Appreciate the kind words and feel to let me know if any other questions arise, either on the M50 or even RUclips stuff, I'm always down to talk YT.

    Thanks, this video cleared up a number of things, peaking ( I had no idea whatsoever what peaking was), exposure meter. How did you set the m50 to make the adjustments you made in the video? Did you use the M for video to do that? I saw your other two vids you recc. and all helped in many ways.

    thank you very much for your video
    you have a new subscriber
    All the videos that I have recorded with the M50 have gone wrong, while I am learning. Today I have learned something new thanks to you
    I will try with the parameters you have indicated, since I have always uploaded the iso.
    I have always recorded with the lens in 15mm, do you think that increasing to 23mm will help reduce graininess?

    • @MonzonMedia
      @MonzonMedia  3 года назад +1

      Amazing thank you for the support! Actually if you increase the focal length you will lose more light so I'd leave it at 15mm if you've been doing it that way. If your image is still grainy chances are you still need more light. Sure you can increase ISO to compensate but it introduces grain and artifacts, more light is always better than increasing ISO if possible.
      Do you have a sample video to show me? Feel free to message me on my website through the contact form if you need more help.

    Thank you so much for this! I was relying on the m50's automatic settings and my photos and video always had image noise cause by high ISO.

    • @MonzonMedia
      @MonzonMedia  2 года назад +1

      You are very welcome! Auto is fine when in good lighting conditions but it's always best to have full control in manual. It may take some time to get the hang of it but you will get there! The M50's low light performance isn't the greatest so you can help avoid it by adding more light to a scene if possible or getting a lens that can do something like F1.8. That way you can use lower ISO however adding light is always a safe bet!

      I'm so glad this helped! Let me know how it goes and if you have any other questions. Sounds like a white balance issue so if you do your settings manually you can set your temperature accordingly. If you are shooting in auto, the white balance will shift if the lighting changes.

      Thanks I appreciate the kind words. It is available if you are using the Canon Camera App, or the EOS3 Utility software on a desktop or laptop. I'm not sure I quite understand what you mean by when it is close to to the window it disables the LCD? You can go into the display settings to disable the view finder so that the LCD only is used for viewing and then you can turn off the power settings for the LCD or change the time to keep it on while you shoot. In the menu wrench icon, page4, display settings and also in page2 under power saving. Here's a video I did on the viewfinder settings ruclips.net/video/U6-TuBRy-XA/видео.html

    At 7:00 in you have a defined horizontal line going all the width of your image showing a brighter exposure then the top half of the video? Please explain?

    • @MonzonMedia
      @MonzonMedia  2 года назад

      Hey cowboy6591, great question. It's a screen recording of the LCD screen on the M50 cropped on top of my talking head footage. Basically I hook it up with HDMI to my computer so I can record the LCD and menu. That's why the exposure looks a bit different. I could've adjusted it to look the same but I wanted to keep the separation. Hope that helps?

    Hello, i have a Canon M50, but not sure why but I don't have the light meter available at the bottom of my screen. It only shows when I put on Auto ISO, but even then, the light meter only stays at zero. It doesn't change as the lighting around me changes. At 3:02 in your video (at 1600 iso) there is a little bar under the light meter that moves left to right. I don't even have a light meter showing let alone the little bar under the light meter. I'm currently at the camera mode (at least with the camera icon) on the dial (not M, AV, TV or P). Not sure if that makes any difference. Help!
