    • @natfingerboard
      @natfingerboard 3 года назад +15

      @Robert Arnold no lmao, those are aged wines, an expensive new wine wouldn't go over 100 bucks, you can find amazing wine around the 20-50 bucks range. when you start to go over 100 that's expensive wine but also aged, and how old it is determines how expensive it's gonna get.

The idea behind pairing with specific foods became mind blowing to me once I really started to comprehend it and start having those proper combinations. I don't think he picked out the wine hes going to try. Because if he knew about all the wine before hand ,it wouldn't be an authentic true reaction of actually trying the wine. There are a team behind him like producers,creators, etc. I'm sure they picked out the wine that they think he should try.

      A lot of top-level NBA players are HUGE wine fans, particularly anyone in LeBron's friend circle (CP3, Wade, Carmelo are notable ones). A lot of Spurs players and former Spurs players appreciate good wine too because Gregg Popovich does. The Portland guys are into it, particularly CJ McCollum if I remember right. You'd be surprised.

      The way i see it .. bball players are real professionals in the sense that they do put a lot of effort to get the job done throughout their carriers . Like , they're the blue collar part of the celebrity world .. hard workers with lots of money who know to appreciate the good things in life and don't care too much about creating extravagant personas ( such as trying to place their names on a wine just for the sake of it ) . Same goes for ( lyrical/old school/bluesy ? ) rappers who depend on creativity and experimentation/boldness to stay on top of their game . I'm not surprised their wines were genuine in the least

    Maison no. 9 was given the sword to represent the 9 of Sword card in a tarot deck. The 9 of swords is representative of fear and anxiety that keep you up at night. Debatably the sword is in the downward position, showing that though you are kept awake by these fears, hope is around the corner for you.

      @@wheel95 we did a blind taste test with a mid grade cab. Haven't tried all of these, but I've have had a few. Agree with the assessments of what I've tried excepting the Coppola Claret. Not sure what nuance he was hung up on , but it is a pretty awesome wine at that price point IMO and a little research into what Coppola does and his commitment to his vintages might change the negative opinion given here. I'd be very surprised to find anything was added. Maybe it was the wine before that tainted the palate.

      I visited Jerome and stopped by the Caduceus/Merkin tasting room, and I enjoyed it, but I also don't know a whole lot about what makes good wine.
      That being said, I feel in hindsight, you could almost say that Maynard used his musical creativity just to launch him to the point that he could become a vintner. He has so much passion for winemaking, and has done a lot for the Arizona winemaking scene overall.
