I live in a country where having cats as pets is more common than dogs. But, still I hear people nag about how cats are ungrateful and unfaithful. It’s not so easy to earn love from a cat but, I think that’s what it makes it precious.

This happened to me today. Two controlling people w a dog. I was having lunch w them. They brought up out of nowhere how they both hate cats. They claimed it was a fecal bacteria that cat-lovers get infected with that makes them love cats. eyeroll ..... I think you're right abt emotional maturity theory.
Selective morality of people is disgusting in this world. You eat all kinds of animals and then go on to pet dogs and cats for really your own sake. There are communities which eat dogs and cats for food. This idea of keeping pets is such nonsense
Why is keeping pets nonsensical? Pets make people happy and can even have health benefits ( it’s been scientifically proven that petting an animal can lower people’s blood pressure.) And if you’re still not convinced by that argument, there are more utilitarian reasons to have cats and dogs. Dogs can be watchdogs, guarding the house from intruders, and cats are specialists in rodent control. 🐈⬛🐈
The fact that you need an animal companion in reality shows that you’re emotionally underdeveloped yourself you’re so co dependent you take in a wild animal that’s meant to be outside and put it in a box but yeah it’s love 😂

Cats are so much cleaner than dogs. I’ve never understood how dog owners can let their dogs lick their faces. 🤮
