I have a relative that absolute despises cats... I would later learn the reason why was because they once used to tend to some song birds when they were a child near their home every day, they grew particularly attached to one which would come to this relative when they whistled for it.. One time returning home this relative would whistle for the bird but it never showed up.. going around places they knew the bird frequented, they found a cat basking away in the sun with some feathers around where it lay... It didn't take much to put two and two together to know the cat had eaten the poor bird. Needless to say whenever an animal hurts or harms something you see as your own pet (the bird in the case of my relative), you are not going to like that animal!

Understandable, but at the same time it’s ridiculous to hate animal for being an animal. I mean dogs will do the same. Your relative needs to let go of the hate. I would feel sad if some animal kill my pet, but hating it will seem pointless.
However I get your relative. It’s hard not to hate an animal that kill your pet, but at the same time that animal was being an animal. Heck maybe it was a feral cat. They don’t have to love cats, but should realize that hating cats for being a cat does nothing to bring her bird back.
@Kenyagirlymost cat people are animal people and like dogs too. A lot of dog people dislike cats for no real reason.
Cats are also prey animals, so they're generally more shy by nature.
@KenyagirlyI’ve seen it more frequent that people who hate cats absolutely despise cats, fully loathe.
And cat people I’ve noticed just tend to prefer cats over dogs, many of them like myself actually have a dog/dogs.
And I’m allergic to both animals, more so to cats, so it’s not an allergy thing for me. Although it used to be when I was younger.
I'm more a cat person, but do love dogs too. The thing I hate when people is talking trash about cats, in front cat person, because they hate them, but if I talked trash about dogs they begin to hate me and say i'm a bad person.
I don't know if this a fact, but I have never met a cat person that hate dogs, they are either both or just don't care. the only thing they hate is a dog person because they hate cats. But a dog person either love both or hate cats, nothing in between.
I’m a true cat lover but absolutely hate dogs and their ridiculous owners who try to humanize them, to the core. It’s true what you say about how dog people try to convert you to the dog way of thinking. I call it a cult because why can’t you hate dogs and not be ridiculed and judged and insulted. When you say you hate dogs, the dog nutters become as rabid as their mutts. There’s no other way to look at that.
As a Cat person I didn’t liked dogs because I had a phobia I got attacked by a dog when I was very young and had been around cats and with cats my whole life and dogs just scared me but I still didn’t talked trash or threatened to kill them if just didn’t got close to them or just hid or cry and have a panic attack but still I don’t like when animals get attacked by humans or hurt and you’re right you know Cat people can be the sweetest and still care and protect other animals

I have met with so many random cats in the streets while walking home. Some let me pet them a little while others were scared and just ran away. Never met a random cat that was hostile with me out of nowhere. Dogs? I had leashed dogs growl and bark at me unprovoked. My neighbour’s dog bit me the second I stepped out of my house (maybe I smelled like cat because I own three…?) I still don’t hate dogs, I hope to have a doberman one day. They scare me a little but never will I hate an animal for acting like… an animal.
7 years ago I was a person who didn't like cats, but I live with my adult son who is autistic, and he kept insisting that we get one and wouldn't let it go, convinced that cats were the best thing ever. After two years of begging I relented, and two days later I was head-over-heels in love. That was Pangur, my 6 year old Russian. We got our russianxragdoll, Nuadha, not long after. We have since had to say goodbye to Nuadha, but we have two more ragdolls, now, one each for my son and my dil, who is also autistic. I highly recommend ragdolls for anyone who has ASD and needs an emotional support animal, they are ideal. A friend of mine has also got two ragdolls for her autistic son after seeing how wonderful ours were for my son and dil.

M'y father didn't hate cats, but hé wasn't a cat lover. When I was 8, m'y grandpa gave me a beautiful white kitten. The Kitty was si sweet my father loved him and Saïd hé was a special cat, because hé was never biting or scratching.

At the end my parents accept, we had got two dogs, and mice.
Aww... Your cats are so cute! 😍🤔... I think most living creatures have their own ways of expressing their affection. We just have to get to know them better. I wasn't really a cat person, and I've never thought that I would have a cat. We had dogs and puppies when I was young. But now Cleo is my baby! What wouldn't I do for her! I'm now used to her fur all over the apartment. She sleeps on my bed and on my belly, too! 😂 It was quite nice when she was a bit lighter - felt like a massage whenever she walked on me. Now that she's heavier, I have to move her away 😂 I find that she is constantly developing, like, she talks more now - telling me to open the door to the living room or she won't really play with me unless she has my full attention or she wants to know what I'm doing. Earlier today I placed a stool beside the kitchen counter so she could watch me prep some food. 🙂 She wasn't too keen with the onions! Ha!

For the first one I have to disagree. I've met many cats who were friendly to me when they first met me and many dogs who were not friendly! Both can be friendly/unfriendly depending on how theyre socialized.
Yeah individual personalities do play a role!
It can also depend on how well they know you and their personality! I met a dog that was practically attached to my leg the whole time I was there, but when I went to say bye to the owner I bent down too fast and too close to his face and spooked him and got bit. He got in trouble, but I think he realized his mistake before he could actually bite since the split in my lip was a clean line, and the nurse said it most likely split from the impact and force of the tooth smacking into my mouth.
I’ve never spooked a cat, but I’ve held a spooked cat before. My head got used as a ladder to get further away from the object of fear. It was my cat though so she was comfortable with me already.
except a "unfriendly" cat would never attack you, unlike a dog who can just snap and maul you in seconds
I just got a rag doll trying to learn how to be the best cat dad can’t do much cause I’m only 11 but your vid’s still help I used to have severe allergies to cats to the point where I would suffocate in the house but luckily when my family got our new cat mars I had no allergic symptoms except sneezing which I can deal with your vid’s help so much Ty for sharing your experience.

One of my friends at high school whom I used to often show cat memes and videos would always say "Cats again? They're so ugly, I'm done with them". In fact, she was a dog person and didn't really like cats, but because I loved how she'd react I'd always show her the videos I'd come across, her reactions were always funny! Maybe I'm the reason why she hates cats 😂

At some point, someone decided that in order to like dogs, you have to hate cats, and vice versa. I don’t know who this person is or what their credentials are, but I am telling you now that whoever they are, they’re wrong.
Saying you don’t like cats because you’re “more of a dog person” is like saying you don’t like sushi because you’re “more of a burrito person.” Sushi is great. Burritos are also great. There’s no need to hate another kind of cuisine just because you’re a regular at Chipotle.
And so, it is obvious that everyone should like cats. Perhaps to some they are an acquired liking, like red wine or pungent cheese. Or maybe some people just don’t have souls (kidding…kind of). You might not be able to puurrsuade the cat hater in your life to give the feline species a chance, but that’s okay-they’ll be the one missing out.

I once heard a phrase that sometimes people hate cats just because they approach them wrong; just as if they would approach a dog. And that's wrong. They should understand that dogs and cats are not the same breed, and it's not only showing itself in the appearance, but how you approach them matter equally. And I Think it's really a thing, and a Lot of people could(no force, everyone have their own opinion) change their Mind if they only knew about it.

I Australia, feral cats have evolved over generations to be more like their wild ancestors, and you can't domesticate them, even if you get them as kittens. I have had a few friends that have tried and failed dramatically! Also, in Australia it is illegal to have a kitten over the age of seven months of they are not desexed and microchipped unless you are a registered breeder, this means we have much, much fewer domestic adoptable cats in shelters compared to most countries. We don't have stray domestic colonies, at least where I live.
Angela thanks for sharing what’s it like in Australia! When I visited I always wondered why there weren’t many stray cats. It’s much different here in the states!

@@TheCatButler because in 2015 their government had a “war on cats” and aimed to kill 2 million strays by 2020 and for good reason they’re an invasive species that results in the extinction of many birds

@@TheCatButler 8 years ago i had a chance of looking after my uncle's new Persian cat kitten for 2 months from the time we brought him he was immediately attached we didnt buy a cat bed or a catio or anything cat accessories coz such stuff are costly in India where im from. The kitten used to sleep with me in the bed and would hold my legs and cry whe i get ready for college..he had seperation anxiety with me and formed the most closest bond than all the dogs iv raised in 27 years of my life..

My dad used to hate cats. He would be really mean to our cats when he came to visit. But he ended up getting a roommate with a super affectionate cat and since then he likes cats now (but still doesn't have one of his own). People who hate cats never get close enough to cats to realize they can all be affectionate in their own ways, they just need more time and familiarity than most dogs.

Cats are smart they don’t just approach a random stranger that’s probably going to kidnap them or something but when they chose the right kind person they will be very loving cats if they hiss or scream at your girlfriend or boyfriend or friend that person needs to go because your cats sense negative vibes from them cats do express emotions by their body language I always knew cats are amazing and smart at the same time and very unique

I actually don't think cats should be killed because they kill other animals mostly mammals. They're not hunting, because, they want to extinct the mammals. One should punish the owners, and find another solution for wild cats. 2 million cats died. THAT'S CRAZY!!!! 🙂

I have 3 cats. One was my mom’s we took in when she passed. One was a tiny kitten very sick and abandoned by her mom in our yard. The one we had the longest was adopted through the shelter. I honestly don’t understand people who don’t like cats. I do have friends and family members who don’t. I try not to judge. 😅

So what I’ve gathered is that cats are the leader of the household, while the owner is the human peasant that works to satisfy their pets needs. Everything is on their time, it’s their way or no way.

I notice people who hate cats don't actually understand cats. They tend to want them to be like dogs or they treat them like dogs which inevitably ends with a paw swipe and leaves human thinking all cats are evil.

Cats are the best pet. You don't have to let them out or walk them like dogs. They are also very smart. I adopted a 2 week old feral kitten and she was using a litter box, and knew where the food/water bowl was on DAY ONE. She had had no exposure to any of this before me.

I have a cat and a dog so I have a good perspective on this. Dogs are a little gross so I'd rather not make much physical contact with that. Cats are more chill you can grab them and hug them and simply if you treat them well they won't bite you

I have had far more bad experiences with untrained dogs than with cats, however as someone who has had both dogs and cats I can say they are both amazing pets

I love both but u find cats if they really love u will protect you to their death. My cousin dog snapped at me once and cleo stepped in front of me completely bushed out n stayed by my side the whole day.. she not cuddly more of s diva but will sit near you when upset
I detest the way they sound. I hate that stupid sound in which they cry and rub against legs trying to get attention. I tried liking them; lived with one for a year and my hate has grown. I won't harm them or anything, but I just don't want to be near one.
When my cat meets my new friends, it goes directly to rub them on their legs and doesn't hesitate to let them pet him.

I disliked cats cos my 1st gf had a extremely mean and aggressive cat (his name was "Conan Corleone, so imagine). 15 years later a new gf asked me to take care of her cat for 1 year and we did crazy bounding, she was always in my shoulder, we even go shopping like that. Now I have 5 years old cat, extremely smart and highly trained. I bring her with me on public transportation to visit friends, go pubs, even once a concert (she really didnt like the drums opening). If you dont like cats could be cos 1) you are unlicky. 2) you are disgusting possesive person who need someone inconditionally adores you. If you want love... earn it!

When I was a kid, my buddy was trying to save a cat because his dogs cornered it at the front porch, but the cat lashed out and scratched his cheek, straight from Enter the Dragon. That left a lasting impression on me and my perception of cats.

It is cruel to let cats roam free, not knowing where they are..if they get run over by a car, poisoned intentionally or unintentionally, trapped inside a shed or garage, shot by a hunter or other, getting a disease, drown, being caught for dog bait....
A cat is a living thing with its own nature. Understand that, work with it, and you will be amply rewarded. And I'm not just saying that because one is sitting next to my keyboard staring at me.

People that don't like cats are probably copying their parents, think they hate cats because their elergic, none of their friends like cats or they had one bad experience with a cat. Cat's can barely hurt you and dog people just expect better love from all animals, it's also about the right breed and you respecting the cat properly, you shouldn't expect some one to be immediately loyal to you, you become friends
I am a dog person, but that doesn't mean I hate cats. I just hate the fact that where I live, only cats are allowed so I can't have a dog 🥲
Anyways, I feel that there are quite a few misconceptions about
both cats and dogs. As you discussed here, cats can be similar to dogs (in their own way)
but there are dogs who can be alike to cats. There are dogs who aren't outgoing, who are more wary around people they don't know. There are dogs who have trust issues and only like a certain person. There are dogs on the more independent side, ones who are stubborn and do what they want regardless of what someone says.
My blind friend hates cats cuz they are silent and use to knock him down hed cry and get severley disciplined! He has a valid reason! But i detest flower lovers who hate cats or bird lovers! Their dislike of cats is a red flag these people arw untrustworthy! I also detest christians who dislike cats for religious reasons! Cats love is true cuz their affection is earned! Ive never had an aloof cat! I love cats more than people i dont have dog energy! Dont want pets in my face constantly!
People who abuse cats or dogs make my blood boil, if I ever caught someone doing that I’d dish out the same treatment on them

Well feral cats are, but so are feral dogs. Dogs are causing extinction too, but a low rate. But it makes sense cause cats aren’t on leashes or harness. Plus cats can get to higher or tight spaces. Also rats even cause more extinction like at 75%.
Although cats cause like 63% of the extinction, they’re not only ones and rats and mice cause way more extinction then cats, like 75%.

Dogs are way too extroverted, and trust too easily. I don't agree with what their doing in Australia! There has to be a better way.
I’m going to focus on the positive. There are more people who love house cats then hate them. 41% love cats, 15% hate cats and 60% love both. It’s obvious that cats have more lovers then haters. I looking at the bright side. Plus more people are probably getting educated about how good cats are.

1. it's not that I hate cats I just dislike other people's Pets no Matter what they are.
2. I think cats are too affectionate atleast towards me I don't like being touched in general (it's sad I know).

I had a cat before, and the reasons you said was why i hate him to the point i started to kick him😢 He wanted affection and Rub him, but after less than a minute he started scratching and biting me. Here I said enough that I did not want him and I'll ignore him. I used to see him from afar once every day and I was sad that we were no longer friends. I miss him :( (He's a street cat)
I'm definitely more of a dog person than a cat person but its the mentality that 'SOME' cats owners have where they will let their cats out un neutered without giving it second thought or will argue that its natural for cats to predator on birds or mice yet if a natural predator caught or killed their cat they would describe the animal as being evil or sadistic.
I feel due to laws and legislation, dog owners are always expected to have a much higher accountability for their pet's actions as oppose to cat owners where they just shrug their shoulders and argue that they cannot control the cat the same way dogs can be controlled.

For people that hate cats, cats are not as friendly as dogs simply because they are smarter and won't wiggle their tail and trust no one regardless. Cats are not there to please you like a poor dog, you are there to please the cat than the cat will take care of you.

We had a good cat (Persian). She was sociable, but not particularly affectionate. Even a good cat acts like it owns the house, like its owners are servants, and like the world owes them. My cat was well behaved (never swapped, or hissed), but when she looked at me, I always felt like her face said, "Oh. Do you still live here?" I actually think I hate cats and was able to deal with one only because my daughters thought she was the cat's meow (pun intended).

People hate cats due to the way so many people jokingly treat cats like gods. I was in this boat till I got a kitten of my own. Cats aren’t arrogant or unloving, their just skittish. Once a cat latches onto you, it’s hard not to fall in love with them.
