@@skipper4126 there were rockers before even Chuck. Rock n Roll was grown by many many people I'm sad to see it's almost asleep these days though. There are very few big Rock n Roll bands anymore.
2016 is gone and we lost a great many celebrities. Somehow it does not seem strange to be rocking to music by musicians who have been gone almost 60 years . Thank goodness fofr You Tube and the gentleman who uploaded this clip
So sad that Eddie Cochran died in a car crash as he was heading for Liverpool to play and meet the Beatles! RIP All you guys Buddy, Eddie John Lennon etc, etc., etc
Mr Mental, no that's wrong. He was actually in a taxi on the way from Bristol to the airport in London with his girlfriend Sharon and Gene Vincent. He wasn't going to meet the Beatles at all, in fact they were only newly formed in 1960. He was the only one who died and the taxi driver was found guilty of reckless driving. He received a very small fine and was banned from driving for 15 years. Small price to pay for killing someone.
people in bands have sensitive egos, if they feel slighted or don't get recognition they don't handle it well I spent lots of yrs. around bands---over 20--saw this problem many times, with women it's really bad--so glad I'm done with all that.

As I remember the story, the promoters wanted Buddy Holly, but not the Crickets. Initially Holly was loyal to his bandmates and insisted they play with him against the wishes of the show promoters, but eventually he moved on. It was sad, but that's how promoters and managers were in those days.
Jerry Zaremba. On drums is Richie Hayward of Little Feat, on bass is David Miner from Leon Russell's band and on piano is John Jarvis, keyboardist for Rod Stewart's band.
'Buddy Holly's musicians' were sidelined here by 'Eddie Cochran's musicians.' It is slow, public, and cruel to be sidelined. Elvis Presley's guitarist Scotty Moore was sidelined by Col. Parker and Elvis. George Harrison in the Beatles was sidelined by John Lennon and Paul MacCartney see 'Let it Be' doco.) It's a cruel fact of this business.
He suddenly realized that the Crickets had become Buddy Holly and the Crickets, and soon to be just Buddy Holly. I like the way they played this scene.
Just watched the film recently ... Gary Busey will always be Buddy to me ... he did such a great job xx
That guitar solo is vicious!!
Gary Busey looks just like Buddy Holly and played his character very well! Great job!😊
Went to the pictures years ago to see him in the film of Buddy's rise to fame 💙👍
100%!
The Littles Richard version from 1960 on RUclips is the best version ever. It's in black and white and live. Unreal.
True love ways is one of my favorite songs of buddy holly
Beautiful, beautiful rock'n'roll. Buddy Holly would have been pleased. I grew up with these sounds (1950s) - I am the connoisseur! Trust me!
How cool it must have been to pretty much invent rock and roll. Exciting times.
Buddy Holly was definitely a pioneer of rock n roll but chuck barry really did so much, a little before buddy I think.

Gary Busey is the best he looks &I sounds like BUDDY HOLLY I don't know where ya find its just like Buddy Holly lived Audra Hoskins
That's Ritchie Hayward of Little Feat playing drums in this scene.
That's why Don threw down the drumsticks. You just cannot beat The Feat.
Jerry lee lewis and buddy holly... FOREVER.... 😎🎹🔥🎹🔥🎹... 🤓🎸
The Killer Rocks On!
Just love the bass
Mr. Richie Hayward of Little Feat on the drums though you really have to look to recognise him

Michael Smith, I agree Michael. I worked in rock n roll for many yrs. touring a lot of fragile egos to say the least....😎
Michael Smith I'm in a band and I'm sick of seeing all the other bands (usually lead singers) thinking they're the next Hendrix or something
I agree interview many popular bands and starting out as well they all talked about a bit of jealousy
Gray played a crazy Buddy. But it was fun.....
Gray?
man...if Busey wouldn't have had that accident I wonder how his career would have been different.
Eddie Cochran the best ever
drummer goes back in forth between happy and jealous
Now that's rock n roll
holy fuck, the guy in the blue suit by the curtain, is that Paul Mooney??
1:59 My favorite part :D
OldMusicSoul same here too.
Brian Setzer as Eddie Cochran.

Gordon Weatherill : Eddie Cochran sang and recorded this before Jerry Lee Lewis did. So whether or not you're a JLL fan is irrelevant.
drummer starts getting jelious of buddy's popularity
It was a combination of jealousy and feeling left out.

Squidman on drums!!
Richie Hayward of Little Feat on drums
Is that Jon Hamm?
I hate to say it, but that's better than it actually was...
MAcCartneys idol!!
I see toad is in there from American Graffiti
WHO played Eddie??!!!
Jerry Zaremba. On drums is Richie Hayward of Little Feat, on bass is David Miner from Leon Russell's band and on piano is John Jarvis, keyboardist for Rod Stewart's band.
What was the problem with the guy in pink jacket? Is it that he couldn´t be a drummer?
+MarekAd Buddy was getting all the attention instead of the band as a group.

Nice to see a proper drummer
That's Richie Hayward of Little Feat on drums
Eddie died younger than Buddy. Crazy and sad.
Both actors were in there mid 30s playing 20 year olds
Someone jealous and walked or ready to get some sleep
Did the real Buddy Holly used to move his legs this way?
He fooled around a lot on stage so maybe
Never understood Don Stroud....throwing his sticks and walking away??

never Buddy never
Why was Gary's face so fucked up
Why was yours??
(that comment was to Thefamily46107 by the way. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Buddy Holly with a telecaster ! Shame !
Worst Eddie Cochran's actor ever
Should've got Brian Setzer, although I guess he was a little too young at the time.
Yep
Luciano Vercetti agreed lol, Eddie was supposed to be young not looking almost 40
Luciano Vercetti doesn't look anything like him
