Back in Buffalo, my friends and I used to have pretend Stanley Cup Finals games when we were in high school. We always sang both the U.S. and Canadian national anthems before each game. All of us knew the words to both anthems and were proud to sing them both.

For only thing Canada would have had a lot less escaped slaves scrabbling to enter the country. They also wouldn't have anyone to constantly beat at hockey.

You do know that Canada is only a constitutional monarchy right? It's really insulting and untrue to say that most Canadians work and live in the US, they don't. It's true that most Canadians live in the South of Canada but that's because it's super cold up North. Canada has loads of industries (construction, real estate, mining, finance to name a few) and they don't need a higher GDP than California because they have a smaller population than California. Canada has won more Olympic golds in hockey for both man and women's teams. Here is a little clip of that time Canada defeated the US in 2010 incase you've forgotten: ruclips.net/video/7819y8CTENg/видео.html
It's also extremely disrespectful to speak of Canada so lowly. They were there to help you on 9/11, when you were uncertain of what was happening and who was attacking you. They fed and cared for Americans citizens who were shocked and shaken by what had just happened. They were there on D-Day and entered both World Wars before America. American can depend on Canada like no other country can and you should be thankful for your northern neighbor always, unconditionally having your back when you need them the most.

So want to go and see Canada from one end to the other. It’s fascinating, the difference in society. Canadians seem so polite and friendly whereas, Americans are brash, in your face, never take responsibility for our actions. Sort of like night and day. It wasn’t always this way in America. I remember when it was more decent here. Times have changed. I love our Canadian neighbors and hope someday to view it from a live

Very touching. As a Canadian, I'm lucky to be able to be truly proud of my country's heritage. And I'm proud to uphold and maintain Canada' stature.
But he did say, "They share our continent." Shouldn't he have said, "We share this continent" ? That is the root of Canadian anxiety. He makes it sound like America allows us to live here. After all, the War of 1812 was a war of American conquest that failed. The largest defensive fortifications in North America were built by Canada in the 1840's along the Great Lakes. You can still see them in Kingston, Ontario. In 1861 American journalists suggested re-opening this dispute once the South was defeated. I learned that from Ken Burns. It's at that time that Canadian founding fathers began negotiating for independence from Great Britain. All of that happened before Canada became a country, though. Therefore, America actually didn't invade Canada. Or so I've heard. And I've wondered why Canada, alone, is not granted that distinction.of being pioneered by Canadians. My Scottish ancestors fled English tyranny and slavery after the battle of Culloden in 1747. They came to Nova Scotia in 1756 with the intent of founding a new life, a new country, dedicated to freedom. I know them to be Canadians. Wasn't Daniel Boone an American? Or the Pilgrims? When did Australians become Australians? I'm a seventh generation Canadian, not a fourth with three generations of escaped slaves.
Yes, Canada is rich because of America, but, like America, the rich are a small minority. Unlike America, we got rich by selling our natural resources. Canada sells America almost all of the Uranium it uses for nuclear weapons. We invented and then destroyed the best anti-bomber fighter ever built. That occurred when ICBMs were invented and America was the only country that had bombers. The Canadian technicians that lost their jobs moved to Texas and built the Apollo moon rockets.
And we have the freedom to tear down statues as well. But Americans destroyed the statues of slavery and Canadians tore down the statue of our first Prime Minister. We really didn't need your violence. We have a hard time figuring out who we're supposed to hate. Unless we see someone getting picked on by a powerful bully. We know what that is like. That's why we were fighting German aggression three years before America in both WWI and WWII. America didn't get involved until they were personally attacked. Except for North America. Between 1600 and 1905, America attacked every neighbour she had, including herself.
The whole world wants to be friends with America because it's the only way to keep our lunch money. Kennedy could've changed everything. 'Nuff said"

The US is seen in a very different light today, then it was just four years ago. Their standing in the world has taken a terrible blow.
