I love seeing real no prep cars get brought out for this stuff(show people what 'fast' REALLY looks like on a bad surface lol) - but the problem is that those dudes are used to negotiating in the streets or in grudge racing, and that's a far more serious ball game lol. Hard to turn that switch off.
Most of it is correct setup. That TA is a a big turbo V8 making big power, but don't neglect the 2 speed power glide with a transbrake, custom rear end for drag racing, and tire size and width to maximize getting all the power to the ground for 1320ft. There are max effort 400hp guys running 8s cause they are setup correctly.

Hint hint, cars with dual clutch transmissions have a like 1/2 second or so lag between the driving initiating the launch and the car actually launching. Lambos/R8s have it, GT-Rs have it, C8 Corvettes have it, S550 GT500s have it, etc.
I'm all for the fast cars but if you're going to continue the series you need to get drivers who are just in it for the fun rather than actually winning.

You guys ever stop to think maybe Hoonigan had a typo on the weight? He wasn't even asked on camera what the car weighed - but you jump to the conclusion that he lied? This is called "tuition." This is what happens when roll race cars try to run drag cars. They didn't even prep the lanes (at least on camera), so it would have been even worse.
Because the producers think it gives the feel of street racing without actually risking anything (insurance away from track, "appearing to promote street racing", etc.) Also, the on screen hosts are awful.
With a dct it’s actually probably more fair because there’s a delay with launch control in dct cars. That’s why they usually just race other dct cars because actual drag cars usually mop the floor

No one wants to see these races won or lost because of the unpredictable delay of launch control, and I'm not sure how else you compensate for it.
