  • Welcome back to the channel, everyone! In today's video, we're diving into the crucial topic of allergies. Are you unknowingly making your allergies worse? Stick around as we discuss three common mistakes and, most importantly, how to rectify them for a healthier you!
🥦 Mistake #1: Dietary Impact on Allergies
Many of us underestimate the profound impact our diet can have on allergies. Processed and sugary foods exacerbate inflammation, amplifying allergic reactions. Opt for a clean diet rich in vegetables and lean meats to mitigate symptoms. Start cleaning up your diet before allergy season kicks in for maximum benefits!
🚿 Mistake #2: Neglecting Personal Hygiene
Maintaining personal hygiene, especially before bedtime, is crucial for allergy sufferers. Showering at night, particularly with cold water, mechanically removes pollen and allergens from your body, providing relief and promoting better sleep. Plus, cold showers induce norepinephrine production, a potent anti-inflammatory.
💧 Mistake #3: Underestimating the Importance of Hydration
Staying hydrated is essential for optimal nasal function. Dehydration compromises the effectiveness of your turbinates, the natural filters in your nose, increasing susceptibility to allergens. Keep those turbinates moist by drinking plenty of water, especially during allergy season.

Does this hold for a cold plunge in the evening as well?

The goal is two fold. You want the boost of norepinephrine, but you also want to wash all of the pollen off of your body. So, even though a cold plunge is great, I'd advise you to also shower off and wash off the pollen.
