  • Katherine Tsetsekos was on a family vacation in Greece when a brain aneurysm and hemorrhage changed her life. The injuries she suffered left her paralyzed on the left side of her body, caused blindness in her eye, and severely affected her memory and processing speed leaving her completely dependent in almost all tasks when she entered Helen Hayes Hospital for inpatient physical rehabilitation. In just 2 months, however, she had shattered all expectations, working hard to reclaim her independence and even regaining full range of motion and strength in both of her arms and legs!
Katherine was presented with the Helen Hayes Hospital Spirit of Achievement Award at the 123rd Helen Hayes Hospital Honors Assembly on September 19, 2023.
