    Thank you. I ordered the 36” and am excited to try it out. Good to see real life reviews on screen. They’re difficult to find on this product. I’m a visual person so this is perfect.

    Thanks for the video. Does it make any noise, like a hum? I guess it depends on pans or your electrical setup.

      Yes there is a hum. The higher the setting the louder the hum. Seems thinner pans can be a little louder than our thicker pans. The hum hasn't been objectionable for us.

    Hi, I am thinking of buying the 30" range, do you know if the coil is squared or round and how evenly have they spread it inside the perimeter of each burner?

      There really isn't a coil underneath. The areas of the cooktop that have potential for heating are inside the square areas on the glass. The shape of your conductive pan dictates the shape of the heating. These cooktops require cookware that are rated for induction use. Bringing a pot to a boil is amazingly fast with these cooktops. Very quick heat control similar to the gas unit we used to have. We found this explanation on the internet, hope it's helpful for you:
      When you turn your cooktop on, a current begins to flow through a copper coil under the ceramic glass, creating a magnetic field around it. When an induction compatible pot is placed on the cooktop, the magnetic field creates electrical currents inside the pan, turning the cookware into a “heater.” One of the most significant benefits of this type of electric cooktop is that it produces a rapid rise and fall in temperature. So not only will food and water come to temperature quickly, the cooktop cools off rapidly when the pan is removed from the surface.

      ​@@NoTop442 I know how induction works very well, this is why I'm asking about the copper coil that even your answer includes, some induction stove tops have just a small coil instead of covering most of the area of the "burner", even in some high end ones I've tested, the problem is I can't go test the wolf one, which is why I'm looking for someone who has used one.

      We're not really sure how to test the extents or shape of the coils. There are no visual cues that we can see either. I'm sure the manufacturer could shed some light on those parameters.

      In the cooktop shown in the video, the two bridge coils on the left are shaped like slightly chamfered rectangles and the other two coils are circular. You can find parts diagrams and service manuals, illustarting the coil shapes, online through Wolf. Therefore, when you bridge for a long rectangular griddle, you won't get two hot spots.

    But with this new cooktop you cannot see the settings if you are cooking say three items at once. You have to click on each box to see what setting temp each pot is on. A design flaw?

      If the other burners are active, you can see what they are set at. For example, the box will be red when a burner is active, and you will see the number that it is set at.

    for the timer, can it shut off a zone when the time is up?

      There is a timer for each burner. If you set the timer on the burner being used, it will beep when there is a minute left and then automatically set the burner to level one when the time is up. The burner will not automatically turn off while there is a pan on it. Once the pan is removed, the burner automatically turns off after a short period of time. You can physically turn the burner to zero at any time.
