- I go over some things that I have found while switching to the arm lock putter.I cover how this putting method has helped me shoot lower golf scores and hole more putts on the greens! Ill also cover how I built my own, using a belly putter as an armlock, pros and cons and finally purchasing a custom evnroll er5 mid lock putter.

What’s the armlock putter model you use?
Im using the evnroll er5 midlock, extended to 42 inches
@@agolfr why did you choose that envnroll and why claw grip with it? I am looking at sik putters...
@@jeffyeah4256 I explain in the video why i chose the claw. Simply felt better. The reason i didn’t go with sik is because there is no where near me to try one. It was between evn roll and sik but incouldnt justifie buting a $700 putter without hitting it and being fit.
thanks for this video! I have been going back and forth with the arm lock putter.. I bought a cobra 3d printed one and just couldn't get comfortable with it.. I ended up going back to a 35" putter and fortunately for me I picked up an EVNROLL ER7v and have been liking it a lot but still a little yippy.. I just purchased a 41" midlock shaft/hosel/grip from EVNROLL and I am really looking forward to swapping it out!
Awesome video! I bought an Evnroll ER11v putter yesterday with the Midlock XL grip, I've always struggled with putting and tried every grip type known! I've always been a little "yippy" with shorter putts, the wristlock seems to self fix this, I had 3 "yippy" putts yesterday and they all went in, I could almost feel the putter adjusting and fixing my yips. Longer putts have also improved drastically
I must have been lucky with my home made armlock attempt. I used an old graphite Project X 5.5 shaft ( light)and add a Kotahi grip ( heavy) to an old mini mallet head. It works at 39 " total length. I did find a second hand Wilson Staff 41" Midway armlock putter which works pretty well too. I struggled at first finding a grip style that stopped me closing the face with my trail hand. After watching the Kotahi grip manufacturer's ( BJM) RUclips video I adopted the suggested " palm up" style for the trail hand and improved with both putters. For those golfers who push with their trail hand in putting, Pinledge have introduced a zero loft armlock putter.
I started using an midlock Evnroll ER2 and the improvement to my stroke was almost immediate. More putts meant my confidence increased - which is critical if you’re going to be a good putter. I’d really recommend trying an armlock putter if you can.

I got a custom queen b 15 added loft and length and adde armlock grip . You just need to get it fitted

I just picked up an Odyssey Big Seven Armlock for similar reasons to you. I'm a 2 handicap and am a fine putter without it, but just like you those 15-20 footers always felt like "wow I really should be making more of these how'd I hit that so hard"
Only got 9 holes in with the armlock so far and no practice at all, but I think there's really something to this. Alignment and speed control felt truly wonky the first 5 holes or so but it started clicking quick and I am really excited to keep experimenting

@@agolfr I've been playing with it for 72 holes or so now. Don't think I'm ever going back unless they outlaw it. Never had as much fun putting before
I increased the lenth of the grip and converted my putter into arm lock and found 90 percent improvement in my putting

I recently switched to the er8v midlock and feel like I’m leaning the shaft too far forward. The face feels pointed down at point of contact but without that much forward lean I can’t hit my forearm. Thinking of moving the ball more forward… How far forward can you put the ball up in your stance with the hosel being so offset?
Hey Andrew - late to the party but really good info here. Per what I gathered from the comments, your setup is the 380gr head with the two shaft offset long plumbers at 42" with the standard 4* loft but at 72* lie?
I've got an ER11v with my standard 35" setup so reached out Evnroll for the hosel, grip, and ER11vx heavy weights to covert it over. Planning on setting up for 42" and have used the claw on and off over the years. Excited to see how this comes together 👍🏼

i always wanted to get a mid lock. Thoughts on adding just buying the grip and add to my putter
Depending on head weight its going to throw the balance of the putter off especially if you extend it.
I am looking for something more consistent with putting. I tend to pull a lot of putts, could this help me? Also I am 6'7 so I am really not sure which length of a putter I should get

I just Got my evnroll er11 midlock 40” Long, i always puttet lefthand low and 34 “ Long normal putter..
But 40” is to Long i had to Cut it Down to 38” because off the albow role..
Looking forward to have try it out, ant i Think i have to be patience🤔
Its really trial and error finding what you like. I recommend cutting less of than you think. You can always cut more.
My armlock putter grip doesn’t naturally rest up against my forearm there’s a gap. Would a jumbo grip fix this or do I need to just forward press more
Youll need a little forward press, a bigger grip will help also ball position can change this. The evn roll midlock grip is really good
@@agolfr thankyou! I’ll check out that grip and mess with the press and ball position. Excited to try the claw this year as well with my new arm lock. Always liked the claw for feel inside 10 15 ft but couldn’t keep it stable enough with 35”
Same issue with my putter, I bent the shaft to my comfort and love it now!

Thank you. No I did not get fit, but I’ve been fit for putters before so was able to figure it out pretty easily on my own. If you’re in Ontario I’d contact Modern golf and see id they stock arm lock putters.

Im 5"11.
Im 6’2 but correct length had a lot to do with arm length and some other factors. Get fit if you can if not always go longer and cut it down if you have to. Easy to take length off and save the grip, but adding length can mess with the balance. Hope that helps.
My putter is 42 inches and 1 degree upright off standard

You guy's must be suckers as golfers. Look the way he is holding his mid armlock putter. He is holding it as a regular putter. Hello!. Mid armlock putter, which means in the forearm and not the forehand. Think about it!. Forearm and not forehand.....
